After wandering through the woods for several days, looking out for my lost companion, I came to a small clearing. Totally exhausted and quite fatigued I slumped down on the soft and relaxing grass, warmed by the midday sun, to catch my breath and recover for a bit. Looking around I saw nothing but endless armies of thick shrubbery and large trees, enclosing the clearing in a somewhat calm secrecy. Marvelling at the beauty of nature and ... the ironically current moment of quietness, which was only disturbed by the distant chirping of birds, I tried to piece together what happened a few days back ... such a devastating and horrorful day it was ...

Dark-clouded skies with hammering thunderstorms broke the silent of the night as two figures rode their way through the wavy ocean on a makeshift raft. The storm has really done a number on it as the figures clinged to each other and the only supporting mast of the raft, shaking and holding on for dear life.
"Just hold on Blaze! I know we can get through this!"
One of the figures shouted in a clearly masculine voice as he patted the other ones soaked shoulder who nodded slightly. Upon closer inspection we could see that the one shouting was a tall, brown-furred otter and the other a larger-than-normal Typhlosion.
As wave after wave washed over their little raft they tried their best to cling onto the mast which only could support so much ... until it broke ...
Both of them slipping, caught off-guard by the sudden breaking of their only life-support, a scream and a muffled roar was heard through the thunderous night as they both fell off of the raft into the ocean, trying desperately to reach out for each other, but it was futile. Both of them were engulfed in the cold ocean and sudden darkness.

Darkness ... sand ... warm sand ... warm water on his legs ... a strong taste of salty sea-water lingering in his muzzle ...
Shooting his eyes up suddenly and then coughing ... coughing copious amounts of sea-water up onto the shoreline before taking a deep inhale to fill his lungs with air.
He was alive ... he hasn't realized it yet but he survived the horrendous nightmare.
Panting like crazy he remembered something ... he frantically looked around, trying to find his companion that was with him on the raft.
"Blaze! Blaze, *cough* where are you?! Blaze!!!"
Useless ... Blaze the Typhlosion was nowhere to be seen, he was the only one washed ashore here ... all alone on the calm and warm-sanded shoreline. He gritted his ottery teeth and clenched his eyes, not wanting to accept that he was the sole-survivor of that nightmare.
Pushing himself up only to fall down again so suddenly, an agonizing pain shooting through all his muscles and nerve-endings ... he must have used up all his energy to fight against the ocean-currents last night, but even as an otter there is only so much you can do.
With sheer willpower he stemmed his body up, teeth gritted again until he finally stood on his feet, panting and wheezing.
Looking around he surveyed the area. It looked a lot like a tropical environment, an island most definately, with a seemingly endless shoreline and thick shrubbery that were only obstructed by some massive rocks here and there, blocking his view.
"That forest ... if he survived ... no, not if, he HAD to survive, he had to ... he has most definately gone in there ... he hates water"
The otter muttered to himself as he looked at the countless trees before him.
"I will find you my love, don't you die on me"
He said confidently as he slumped forward, inert on searching all of that vast woodwork if he had to.

Reminiscing in the events past I looked around myself again as I continued to sit down on the warm grass, panting slightly.
"Get up on your feet dammit, you have to look for him"
I muttered to myself again with gritted teeth. Surveying the area was harder than I initially thought, the island in itself is way bigger than I thought ... he could be everywhere ... but I can't give up, not yet ... With new determination cooking up inside him he stood up, taking a few steps towards the nearest shrubbery again.
*crack*
I heard something behind me twisting, a piece of dead wood maybe. But after turning around I saw nothing, squinting my eyes to try to look past these damn trees.
"Blaze?"
I called out softly, raising my voice a bit.
"Blaze? Is that you?"
More rustlings of the thick shrubbery ... I waited for a bit, my senses on-guard as it could be a native predator.
But the thing I saw wasn't a predator, not from my point of view at least, but something of even more value to me.
"Blaze!!!"
Stepping out of the shrubbery was Blaze, my lovely Typhlosion ... he survived, he really survived, I couldn't describe the feelings that welled up inside me as I saw him standing there until I ran forward to his direction, he doing the same until we were together again.
We held each other for god knows how long, embracing each other tightly and nuzzling each other, crying, thankfull that the other survived.
A lot of time passed until we eventually parted our embrace, giving each other a tender kiss that seemed to last just as long as our embrace.
"I'm so very happy that you survived ... I thought ... I thought I would have lost you Blaze ... when I saw you falling down into the waters ... it was a living nightmare"
I softly whispered as we held each other, him squeezing me slightly and rubbing his large and warm paws over my back, giving me the secure feeling I love so much. He murred and nodded, licking over my cheek and giving out a few replies in his native tongue which I came to understand quite well as we were together for so long.

For a few days we surveyed the island together just to find out that it was not inhabitated, we were the only ones on it - safe for the natural flora and fauna, enough for the two of us to survive.
Setting up a basic camp-site we waited - waited for someone else to get close by and rescue us as both of us agreed that we wouldn't dare to challenge fate again with another raft.
And while we were waiting we showed each other just how much we loved each other - Churr~~~ this picture here depicting one of the many moments of us two being lovey-dovey with each other.
