"description": "Here it is, finally! Part 1 of the redesign is finished, and here we have the updated ref for my fursona! His 'full' name is Bitcoon, but the shortened name \"Bit\" is still preferred. Did a lot of simplifying some annoying aspects of his design, finally gave him real shoulders and he's got a more squirrelly head shape that matches up with the other half of this redesign coming later.\n\nWhat I'm doing is splitting up Bitcoon (my sona) from Bit (the character) so there's a clearer line between what's personal art (anything goes!) and what's canon. Bitcoon is keeping the classic color scheme and, aside from some changes to his fur patterns and body shape, should be pretty recognizable.\n\nCyberspace deserves a little explanation: when they're inside a computer, whatever that looks like is up to the interpretation of the familiar's subconscious. It can potentially be a lot of things, from interfaces to landscapes. They can even perceive the computer as their 'body' using webcam as 'eyes', microphone as 'ears' and so on, if that's what the situation calls for.\nBecause the subconscious is controlling how things look, they're not limited to what data is actually there. The world of a video game can appear so much more realistic because the data is being interpreted into a believable facsimile of what it represents. NPCs won't act robotic, enemies will move and fight realistically, grass and trees will have incredible detail close-up, all because Bit experiences them in a dream-like way. Inside a game, he can even choose to obscure his own memories so it feels like he really belongs in that world. It can be impossible to realize that what's happening isn't real, if that's how he wants it to be.\nNormally, familiars can't do much to change their appearance in cyberspace, but for Bitcoon, that limitation is lifted somewhat.
