Read all my stories on Inkbunny and give me a watch if you like what you read!\n\n[center][b]Rupert and Bill Badger's Feet[/b][/center]\n\nRupert Bear was playing Cricket one morning with his friends Algy Pug, Podgy Pig, and Pong Ping. Their friend Bill Badger was invited to play with them as well, but he had to help his mother with chores while she took his baby brother to the doctor.\n\nWhen Podgy was up to bat, Algy, who was in the bowling position threw the ball to the pig who made a hit. The ball bounced on the ground and as he started to run back and forth, Pong Ping chased after it. The pekingese grabbed the ball and threw it back to the pug to end Podgy's running.\n\n``Bill is sure missing a good game,'' said Pong Ping.\n\n``Good? It's the best game ever!'' said Podgy as he caught his breath, ``I have beat my personal record on runs, and not a single wicket down.''\n\n``I told you that practice makes perfect Podgy,'' said Rupert.\n\n``See how good you are at bowling,'' said Algy as he tossed the ball to Podgy and picked up the bat. Once Algy was ready to receive the bowl, Podgy threw the ball and Algy made a big hit. Rupert followed the ball with his eyes as Algy started making runs.\n\n``You must have hit that all the way close to the road,'' said Rupert.\n\n``It won't catch itself Rupert,'' said Pong Ping, ``You better grab it if you and Podgy are to win.''\n\nKnowing they needed the ball, Rupert ran after the ball in the direction it went. As he approached the road, he saw Bill Badger standing by waiting for him.\n\n``Here's the ball Rupert,'' said Bill as he tossed it to him, ``That must have been one of Algy's super sluggers.''\n\n``No joke, I wish he wouldn't hit it so hard,'' said Rupert, ``Are you finished with your chores Bill?''\n\n``Not quite,'' said Bill, ``My mum sent me to the store to pick up some groceries, my baby brother goes through a lot of milk as you know.''\n\n``Do you think you will have time to play with us before lunch?'' asked Rupert.\n\n``Maybe not until after lunch, and you will all be finished by then,'' said Bill, ``But I don't have to be home too quickly, perhaps I can play with you for a little while.''\n\n``Only if your mum is okay with that,'' said Rupert.\n\n``Don't worry Rupert, I can bat a couple of times and make my way to the town square,'' said Bill insistingly.\n\n``All right,'' said Rupert, ``as long as you know what you are doing.''\n\nSo Rupert and Bill ran back to their friends with the ball. Everyone else was happy to see Bill and they continued their game. Bill swung the bat a couple of times to begin with, but soon wanted to test his skill against all his friends, causing him to stay longer than he should have.\n\n``I thought you only wanted a couple of times at bat Bill,'' said Rupert, ``When exactly did your mother need you back?''\n\n``She said to come home by lunchtime,'' said Bill.\n\n``Well you might be late,'' said Rupert, ``When the shadow of the tree is over that rock, it's after eleven.''\n\n``You're right, I have been here longer than I should have,'' said Bill when he looked at the rock and realized his mistake, ``Rupert, why didn't you say something?''\n\n``Why should he?'' asked Algy, ``When you have such a nice day, you have to make the most of it.''\n\n``Well if you knew he had an errand to run Algy, maybe you shouldn't have been so encouraging of him to stay,'' said Rupert.\n\n``Rupert is right,'' said Pong Ping, ``We have other responsibilities and that reminds me that I will need to return to my home so I can prepare for my visit to the Chinese Emperor this afternoon.''\n\n``And all those runs are wearing me thin,'' said Podgy as he rubbed his stomach, ``I'm going home to eat a leftover breakfast so I'll have the energy to eat lunch.''\n\n``Oh come on, we have plenty of morning left,'' said Algy.\n\n``Sorry Algy, I think it's time for us to call it a day,'' said Rupert.\n\n``I'm sorry too, I should have just focused on getting my errand done to begin with,'' said Bill.\n\n``It's alright,'' said Algy, ``It's my set so I'll pick things up. Go ahead and do what you need to do, and maybe you can join us next week.''\n\n``Bye Algy,'' said Rupert as he left with Bill, ``Since you are short on time Bill, would you like it if I helped you?''\n\n``That would get things done faster,'' said Bill, ``By all means Rupert.''\n\nSo Rupert and Bill go into town to buy the things needed and they both brought them home to Bill's house where Mrs. Badger was waiting for them.\n\n``You took a little longer than expected Bill, I was afraid you wouldn't be home in time,'' said Mrs. Badger.\n\n``Sorry Mum, I was a little distracted,'' said Bill, ``That's why Rupert is here, he offered to help me get this stuff home in a timely matter.''\n\n``That's very kind of you Rupert,'' said Mrs. Badger, ``Would you be able to stay for lunch? I was making some salad sandwiches.''\n\n``Sure,'' said Rupert, ``I finished all my chores yesterday so my mum said I could take as much time as I want before supper.''\n\n``Splendid,'' said Bill, ``Perhaps you would like to play by the stream after lunch?''\n\n``I like that plan,'' said Rupert.\n\nThe two friends ate up their sandwiches and then after putting their dishes away, they went for a long walk along the stream. They continued to walk until they came upon a large tree by a shrub.\n\n``Over here Rupert,'' said Bill, ``This looks like a good place to rest.''\n\n``Sure,'' said Rupert, ``How are you feeling?''\n\n``Quite well,'' said Bill as he sat back on the tree trunk, ``Ahhh, feels so good to sit down and listen to the birds and the flow of the stream. We should come here more often.''\n\nRupert sat down with him, ``We should perhaps stay here one night and bring our camping gear, we are a good deal of distance from town.''\n\n``I'll have to come up with a shortcut so that we don't have to walk so much,'' said Bill as he started rubbing on his legs, ``Speaking of which, I think all that walking we did is catching up with me, you wouldn't mind if I took my shoes off for a while would you?''\n\n``Not at all,'' said Rupert.\n\nBill took off his shoes and then crossed his legs with his feet forward, showing off his yellow socks, ``Oooh, that feels even better. Sorry if the odor is a little strong for you Rupert.''\n\n``I don't think it's that strong,'' said Rupert.\n\n``You sure?'' asked Bill.\n\n``Of course I am sure,'' said Rupert as he picked up one of Bill's shoes and sniffed the inside of it, ``I actually think your feet smell quite good just by how your shoe smells inside.''\n\n``Really Rupert?'' wondered Bill with a suspicious grin, ``I don't suppose you would like to smell my socks too?''\n\n``Only if you want me to,'' said Rupert.\n\nBill flexed his toes up, ``You already smelled my shoes, you might as well take a whiff of everything else.''\n\nRupert looked at Bill, and then with a giggle put his nose on Bill's socked feet and took a sniff, ``Mmmm, they are even more smelly than your shoes.''\n\n``Is that a good or a bad thing?'' asked Bill.\n\n``Good actually,'' said Rupert, ``To be honest Bill, I actually kind of like how your socks smell, very cheesy in a way.''\n\n``Well if you like to smell them so much, how about you take them off and take an even deeper sniff,'' suggested Bill as he uncrossed his legs, ``Go ahead, I won't stop you.''\n\nRupert went ahead and peeled off his friend's yellow socks, revealing his white, human-like feet and put one sock right up against his nose. When Podgy was up to bat, Algy, who was in the bowling position threw the ball to the pig who made a hit. The ball bounced on the ground and as he started to run back and forth, Pong Ping chased after it. The pekingese grabbed the ball and threw it back to the pug to end Podgy's running.
``Bill is sure missing a good game,'' said Pong Ping.
``Good? It's the best game ever!'' said Podgy as he caught his breath, ``I have beat my personal record on runs, and not a single wicket down.''
``I told you that practice makes perfect Podgy,'' said Rupert.
``See how good you are at bowling,'' said Algy as he tossed the ball to Podgy and picked up the bat. Once Algy was ready to receive the bowl, Podgy threw the ball and Algy made a big hit. Rupert followed the ball with his eyes as Algy started making runs.
``You must have hit that all the way close to the road,'' said Rupert.
``It won't catch itself Rupert,'' said Pong Ping, ``You better grab it if you and Podgy are to win.''
Knowing they needed the ball, Rupert ran after the ball in the direction it went. As he approached the road, he saw Bill Badger standing by waiting for him.

``Maybe not until after lunch, and you will all be finished by then,'' said Bill, ``But I don't have to be home too quickly, perhaps I can play with you for a little while.''
``Only if your mum is okay with that,'' said Rupert.
``Don't worry Rupert, I can bat a couple of times and make my way to the town square,'' said Bill insistingly.
``All right,'' said Rupert, ``as long as you know what you are doing.''
So Rupert and Bill ran back to their friends with the ball. Everyone else was happy to see Bill and they continued their game. Bill swung the bat a couple of times to begin with, but soon wanted to test his skill against all his friends, causing him to stay longer than he should have.
``I thought you only wanted a couple of times at bat Bill,'' said Rupert, ``When exactly did your mother need you back?''
``She said to come home by lunchtime,'' said Bill.
``Well you might be late,'' said Rupert, ``When the shadow of the tree is over that rock, it's after eleven.''
``You're right, I have been here longer than I should have,'' said Bill when he looked at the rock and realized his mistake, ``Rupert, why didn't you say something?''
``Why should he?'' asked Algy, ``When you have such a nice day, you have to make the most of it.''
``Well if you knew he had an errand to run Algy, maybe you shouldn't have been so encouraging of him to stay,'' said Rupert.
``Rupert is right,'' said Pong Ping, ``We have other responsibilities and that reminds me that I will need to return to my home so I can prepare for my visit to the Chinese Emperor this afternoon.''
``And all those runs are wearing me thin,'' said Podgy as he rubbed his stomach, ``I'm going home to eat a leftover breakfast so I'll have the energy to eat lunch.''

So Rupert and Bill go into town to buy the things needed and they both brought them home to Bill's house where Mrs. Badger was waiting for them.

The two friends ate up their sandwiches and then after putting their dishes away, they went for a long walk along the stream. They continued to walk until they came upon a large tree by a shrub.
``Over here Rupert,'' said Bill, ``This looks like a good place to rest.''
``Sure,'' said Rupert, ``How are you feeling?''
``Quite well,'' said Bill as he sat back on the tree trunk, ``Ahhh, feels so good to sit down and listen to the birds and the flow of the stream. We should come here more often.''
Rupert sat down with him, ``We should perhaps stay here one night and bring our camping gear, we are a good deal of distance from town.''
``I'll have to come up with a shortcut so that we don't have to walk so much,'' said Bill as he started rubbing on his legs, ``Speaking of which, I think all that walking we did is catching up with me, you wouldn't mind if I took my shoes off for a while would you?''
``Not at all,'' said Rupert.
