Right now they're all on benrioteworks.tumblr.com if anyone wants to read them immediately along with my other works. Any and all views/criticism is welcome, and while I understand this is a mild post and is tagged to be more mature, I did so due to the much later posts being much more risque. was swaddled in leathery wraps.  Her father looked down upon her with deeply-ponderous eyes as she was handed to him, and all he could do was cling gently to her as her mother was covered with her own cloth upon the bed across from his chair.\n\n\tThe attendants had remained silent throughout the ordeal, but before Drenan could turn away he was approached by the head tauren druidess.  She attempted to look him in the eye, but he would not turn his gaze up from his child.  “Your loss… it is unfathomable, Drenan.  I am truly sorry.  We did all that we could.  She is with the Earthmother now.”\n\n\tIt was several moments before the large tauren responded with a much softer tone compared to his boisterous one from earlier that day.  “I do not blame you, Shele, nor the others.  Kinah was in poor health to begin with… but we had hoped…”  His words trailed off into silence with the merest hint of a sob.\n\n\tThe druidess Shele attempted to lay a comforting hand on his shoulder.  “She told us she wanted the baby to survive.  We will offer any aid we can, and a shaman has already been summoned from Thunder Bluff to assist in her cremation.”\n\n\tDrenan nodded weakly.  “You have our thanks.”\n\n\t“And… what of the order?”\n\n\tThere was a short pause before his answer.  “They do not need to know.  The Sunwalkers will do just fine without me for a while.”\n\n\tShele nodded in kind, dismissing the order of paladins silently, and tilted her head to glance at the baby.  The child’s fur was still slightly matted, but it shined a deep, chocolate brown as her mother’s had been.  “She’s quite beautiful.  Did you two have a name for her?”\n\n\t“Lyrah,” he whispered, and as if in response the baby stretched her tiny, calf-like arms with a deep yawn and reached out to gently clasp onto one of her father’s massive hands that cradled her.  Drenan bit his lip sharply to bite back any remnant tears, and a quick shift freed one of his hands to wipe them away.  “Her mother will live on through her.  I would die before anyone got anywhere near her.”\n\n\tThe druidess bowed her head in understanding.  “Of course.  We are at your disposal if need be,” she added once again before stepping away.\n\n\tWith a heavy and confused heart, the hulking tauren stepped out of the little hut with his newborn and into the midday sunlight that washed over Azshara.  His deep azure eyes flitted across the broken and excavated landscape, lingering upon every ridge he saw for a long moment before looking to the next.  Eventually he looked down to the ground and his own hooves, not unlike a lost child, before his gaze found his child once more.  She was clinging to him with all the strength a newborn could and then some, and even that little feeling was enough to bring at least a wisp of a smile to his bull-like face.\n\n\tIt was not ten minutes before a wyvern came swooping down from above the clouds.  Drenan had found a shady tree to sit under with his child, and he watched as the odd creature touched down several yards from the hut.  As the mount disappeared, its rider, a tauren shaman decorated with a multitude of feathers and leather, approached the pair with a neutral expression.  “I am Farseer Keldah.  Drenan, it is?”\n\n\t“Last I checked.”\n\n\t“And the child is Lyrah, no?”\n\n\t“Indeed.”  Drenan furrowed his brow slightly.\n\n\t“The Earthmother is likely overjoyed to welcome another into the world, and I am certain your wife will be welcomed with open arms in kind,” the shaman offered with a gentle bow.  “I take it she is still inside?\n\n\tA curt nod.\n\n\t“Right.  Do you wish to say goodbye?”\n\n\t“I already have,” Drenan assured him with a stern expression, turning back to his child.\n\n\tThe shaman approached further and looked down at the baby, his neutral expression turning concerned.  “Beware, Drenan.”\n\n\tThe paladin looked up at the other tauren sharply.  “I beg your pardon?”\n\n\t“It is not uncommon for a widow to put his child in place of his deceased mate.  I advise you to take caution with this thought in mind.  She is no slave, nor object.  You are her father, and you will be the only living relative she has in this world.  Do not take that lightly.”\n\n\t“I assure you I’m not,” Drenan returned, somewhat miffed.  “She’s all I have left.”\n\n\t“Well, that she is.  Be certain to remember that there is also more to life.”  Before Drenan could come up with a response, Keldah turned on his heel and entered the hut out of sight.\n\n\tDrenan rumbled under his breath.  “Fool.  He knows nothing of anything.”  As much as he realized how silly he sounded, he couldn’t admit it to himself.  He felt justified in his irritation all things considering, but every time he looked back at his daughter everything seemed to just get better.\n\n\tThe cremation was a quick process.  The shaman brought Kinah’s body out onto a nearby precipice, waited until nightfall, then set the body ablaze.  Most of the ashes were caught and given to Drenan, who in turn stowed them away with a wistful look.  When all was said and done he knew he could stay no longer, and with a thankful farewell the tauren set off toward northern Azshara with his newborn on his back, silently mourning his wife and forcefully shoving the stoic shaman’s words to the back of his mind.\n\n\tIt would be a long time before the words would come back to him.\n\n","writing_bbcode_parsed":"<span style='word-wrap: break-word;'>The baby did not cry, nor did she flail. &nbsp; She simply breathed peacefully, eyes closed, unflinching
