Check it out HERE!\n\nWhew! Alright, no more suspense. I mean, honestly though, did y'all think I'd end this with Lyrah giving up the ghost? I'm too much of a softy for that. Still... it was worth consideration that something might've been odd about Kinah's passing, but it seems as if Lyrah's beaten it.\n\nAnd, well... that's kind of it I guess. There's still a little epilogue left and a couple holiday surprises, but their story's pretty much been told. I was honestly really worried that I'd feel hollow, but... there's an inner warmth that I think is far more prominent. I've come a long way with these two. I know I don't get a ton of readers, and most folks would shrug this off, but it means a lot to me that even one of you guys has read Drenan's Folly from beginning to end. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for reading. It's been so incredibly validating that folks enjoy my work. I went through college, got an English degree, and now I'm in a field that doesn't need it (a common occurrence, it seems). But this is my joy and my passion: Writing. Yeah, it's smut, but so what?! It's fun! And I get to use what I studied for. But I digress....\n\nTune in next week for a little glimpse into the distant future.\n\nPosted using PostyBirb",

"writing": "<172>\n\n\tLyrah’s eyes shot open, and she let out a gasp as if she’d been deprived of air for a century. Drenan lurched backwards in shock, but flung himself right back atop her, while Lyrah clung to him for dear life. Neither of them could form words, but Lyrah forcibly brought his face to hers, kissing him and inhaling as if he was breathing life back into her. When her lungs were full, her head fell back, and the shaman screamed with every fiber of her being in one powerful push.\n\n\tHer body suddenly felt empty. The ensuing moments of silence caused both tauren to hold their breaths, unable to look at anything but each other.\n\n\tThen, shattering the silence, was the crying of a newborn tauren baby.\n\n\tDrenan and Lyrah’s expressions melted into indescribable relief. Drenan slid backwards, Groa tugged down Lyrah’s gown, and Shele promptly placed the newborn on Lyrah’s bare chest. The newborn’s head was covered in bright blonde locks of mane hair, much of which was still matted. Its fur was a beautiful brown about halfway between Drenan’s and Lyrah’s fur, but it had the same patch of auburn flecks along his inner right thigh. The baby itself was actually quite large, even for a tauren, and its head was oddly-shaped without having grown horns just yet, on top of being squeezed through the birthing. The second it was placed on Lyrah’s chest, the baby went quiet, its eyes just barely open at all, but it knew where its home and mother was. Lyrah couldn’t stop smiling as she gazed upon her precious baby, cuddling it lovingly. She looked up at her father tearfully, who mirrored her smile and pressed an emotionally-charged kiss to her lips.\n\n\tGroa smiled, but it was Shele who was on the brink of tears herself. The druidess took the liberty of clipping and severing the baby’s cord, leaving the orc to finish up the rest of the less-pleasant work, not that she seemed to mind. “Congratulations, Lyrah, Drenan,” Shele said softly. “It is a boy.”\n\n\t”He’s beautiful,” Lyrah sniffled happily, nuzzling her son and closing her eyes, still struggling to process what she’d just gone through.\n\n\t”He is,” Drenan agreed, still trembling as he clung to his wife and son.\n\n\t”Big boy you got there,” Groa remarked from the foot of the bed. “And this ain’t the first tauren I’ve delivered. He’s gonna be a strong one.”\n\n\tDrenan and Lyrah nodded in unison, but dared not take their eyes off their little one.\n\n* * * * *\n\n\tOnce Lyrah was all fixed up, Groa took a few moments to say her farewells, and even shook Drenan’s hand before she left their home. Shele remained a bit longer just to make sure the baby was stable, but she knew better than to overstay her welcome when the parents needed some bonding time alone with their newborn. Soren entered to congratulate them and briefly hold the newborn, but following his mother’s lead, he kept things brief. Promising to visit in a few weeks, Shele and Soren hugged them and departed, leaving Lyrah still in bed with Drenan at her side.\n\n\tWith the room quiet, Lyrah beamed at her tiny son, then looked at her father, smiling. “Would you like to hold him?”\n\n\tDrenan pushed away the initial pang of nervousness and nodded. Lyrah slipped the baby into his arms carefully, letting go for the first time, then happily laid her head back and took a deep breath. Drenan was all smiles as he gently cradled his son, then took a seat next to the bed just to coo over him. “I never thought I would have a son,” Drenan confessed.\n\n\tLyrah grinned. “Never? Did you want a boy before I was born?”\n\n\tThe bull shook his head. “I had hoped for a daughter from the beginning.”\n\n\t”Oh? How come?”\n\n\tDrenan exhaled softly. “I was… worried that a son might inherit the bloodlust and desire for vengeance ingrained in my family’s history, not to mention the anger. It was something I had no clue how to handle when I am so… different.”\n\n\t”You’ll be a good example for him,” she said with a happy sigh. “I’m not worried.”\n\n\t”I still worry,” he admitted. “Just because I do not utilize it, does not mean it is not there. There is an anger that I have struggled and worked tirelessly to suppress at every turn. It is an anger I recall my father having in spades. He could yell when he was frustrated. A lot. He was a very angry male.”\n\n\t”That’s not you,” Lyrah insisted and lifted her head to look at him.\n\n\tDrenan kept his gaze on his son, and his smile steadily returned. The baby’s eyes opened just a little, revealing two deep, dark orbs, sporting just a hint of that brilliant azure color that both he and Lyrah had in their own eyes. His tiny, three-fingered hand reached upward, and Drenan offered him one of his fingers, which he gripped as tightly as he could. “I know,” the hunter rumbled in earnest. “I did this once just fine. I can do it again, and our son’s path is not set in stone. Perhaps he will carry on as another shaman, especially considering….”\n\n\tDrenan gestured at Lyrah’s side. Confused, the shaman looked down and grasped the haft of her flail –something she had no recollection of having with her at all– and to her surprise, a new carving had formed just below the image that represented Drenan. A female tauren with one raised hand helped support the bull, while the other arm cradled a small bundle of cloth tightly to her chest. Lyrah wanted to cry all over again. “M-maybe, but, um… i-if he’s gonna be rough and tumble, he’s gonna learn his dad’s ways of hunting.”\n\n\t“Maybe so. Only time will tell,” he added, gently rocking the peaceful baby. “I suppose the time has come.”\n\n\t“Yeah,” she said and wiped away a sniffle to compose herself. “We need a name.” Lyrah watched as Drenan leaned in closer, allowing them both to gaze at the baby. “I can already tell he’s gonna be one handsome heartbreaker. Maybe something like… Kestor?”\n\n\tDrenan thought for a moment, then shook his head. “I do not sense the avian affinity that sort of name implies.” As if on cue, a gentle tapping sounded at a nearby window. Drenan quickly rushed over and opened it, letting Kacheya hop in and onto his shoulder, looking intently at the baby alongside father and daughter.\n\n\tThe couple whispered to each other for a while, tossing out portions of names to try and combine into something new. Then, as if it were meant to be, it just… clicked for them. Drenan felt his heart ache pleasantly when Lyrah suggested it, as she’d taken an instant liking to the name when she first heard it.\n\n\tThe happy couple smiled, and with an air of finality, Lyrah uttered, “Welcome to the world, our precious Datch.”\n",
