"writing": "<161>\n\nThe sun began to set, and the weary bull trudged over to the small canopy where Lyrah remained sleeping soundly. “How is she?”\n\n”Same as ever,” Groa said dryly as she washed Lyrah with another magic, golden glow. “Snoozing away and shirking her wifely duties. I think today makes a full month, don’t it?”\n\nDrenan sighed and took a seat next to Lyrah. “Do not remind me.”\n\nGroa rested a hand on Lyrah’s belly. “The baby is doing well, if it’s any consolation. It’s moving around a lot. I’d say she’s got about eight weeks left to go.”\n\n”Mmh,” was all Drenan said.\n\nThe orc chuckled. “I know what you’re thinking. If it’s any consolation, I can still deliver the baby while she’s out. Might even be easier for her.”\n\n”That will not be necessary,” Drenan rumbled and squeezed Lyrah’s hand. “She will wake before then.”\n\n”She might,” Groa somewhat agreed. “Just preparing you for a less enjoyable scenario.”\n\nDrenan shot her a nasty look.\n\nGroa blinked blankly. “What?”\n\n”Not ‘worst case scenario’?”\n\n”Well no, worst case scenario they both die,” she said matter-of-factly, but seeing the immediate rage in Drenan’s eyes, she added, “But we’re nowhere near that scenario, trust me. I’m better at my job than that.”\n\nDrenan snarled, then with a growl he got up, walked about ten steps over to another tree, then slammed his fist into it to send bark flying in all directions. “Do you even care if she lives or dies, or not!? What is your problem!?”\n\nGroa frowned and stood. “My problem is getting stationed out in Talador at a moment’s notice to watch over a comatose shaman and deal with a dumb bull who’s entirely ungrateful for my work here! I could be back in Orgrimmar right now, enjoying some tea with my pets! Instead my service is dedicated to the Horde, and for some reason I have just enough of a conscience not to walk away and say ‘I quit’, especially when the angry, grumpy bull, the only person around to talk to that’s conscious, has to fight me every step of the way!”\n\n”I am not fighting you, but your attitude has gotten on my nerves from the moment we met!” The hunter rumbled and marched back over to her, though after a moment of pause, he took a deep breath. “The attitude makes it difficult for me to trust that she is in good hands.”\n\n”Does the quality of my work not speak for itself?” Groa hissed.\n\n”How can I tell a work’s quality when Lyrah remains asleep and unchanged!?”\n\n”Because she’s alive!”\n\nThe two were at an impasse, staring daggers at one another… and then the magic lens faded.\n\n* * * * *\n\n”Noooo! Oh holy shit, no no no! A month!?” Lyrah cried, grabbing her horns and shaking her head. “There’s no way! I haven’t even been here for a few hours!” Despite her protest, Lyrah knew deep down that wasn’t how the spirit world worked.\n\nTheira touched her granddaughter’s shoulder. “Then you had better not waste any more time with us old fogies,” she said with a laugh. “Thank you for hearing us out. Maybe our knowledge can still be of use.”\n\n”We have faith in your judgment,” Karthak added. “Be well, Lyrah Thunderspear… and…” he paused, choosing his words carefully. “… take care of your father, please?”\n\nLyrah turned and looked at them both, then threw her arms around them to hug them fiercely. “I will! I need to finish my business as fast as I can then, thank you so, so much for everything! I won’t forget you, and we’ll talk again someday, I know it!”\n\nBoth of them smiled as they let her go, and suddenly a bright light flashed around Lyrah’s staff. As it faded, beneath the carving of the spiky tauren was a series of ornate, three-fingered hands that intertwined and reached up to support the armored tauren. Lyrah beamed, and as if on cue Kacheya launched off of Lyrah’s shoulder and took off with another screech, this time to the west. With a last farewell, Lyrah soared off after her, leaving the pair of spirits to slowly fade into nothingness.\n\nGorgrond became naught but a memory before long, and beneath Lyrah stretched out the expanse of snow and jagged mountains that was Frostfire Ridge. She felt no cold or discomfort as a spirit, though as they passed over a field of ice, the owl began to dip and waver. “Kacheya?” Lyrah called. “What’s wrong, girl?” The owl didn’t appear to acknowledge her, but with a softer trill she started to drop and fall out of the sky. Lyrah cried out and shot after her, and at the last second she caught Kacheya before she could touch the ground, allowing the shaman to touch down gently. “Hey! Wake up! What’s wrong?”\n\nThe owl’s eyes opened slowly, appearing no worse for wear, then let out another gentle trill and jerked her head to one side.\n\nLyrah looked where Kacheya gestured, then realized they had landed at the center of a circle of engraved stones. Pale blue energy swirled around the stones, and gentle tendrils of energy seemed to create a runic pattern on the ground in the circle. The shaman looked at the six stones, and somehow she knew what she needed to do. Gently, she laid Kacheya down at the circle’s center, then stepped backwards and brandished her staff. One by one, she pointed it at the stones, and the magic flared to life upon each one. Runes for the elements of fire, water, earth, air, storms, and spirits revealed themselves, and with the last one lit, the energy surged toward Kacheya. A flash of light caused Lyrah to throw up one hand, but when it faded, Kacheya was gone, replaced by the naked, tauren form of Kinah’s spirit. Lyrah began smiling from ear to ear the second she saw her. “I knew it was you all along!” She cried and rushed forward, hugging her mother’s spirit fiercely.",
