FOUR. D. CHESS!

The big reveal, kinda!  If you've been reading both of the stories I've been posting lately, it'll make more sense, but ideally you don't have to, or I'm gonna try and make sure you don't have to.  I'm fully planning on going from crossover territory to full timeline intersection here in a few more parts, so just bear with me!

But yeah, I went trope-heavy here, kinda.  Does it come off cringy?  Dumb?  Maybe, but I kinda think it was at least a little clever.  We got some drama just on the horizon!

Must not dislike ‘em too much.”\n\n\tAthilis grinned. “Family’s all I’ve got anymore. Gotta keep ‘em close and on track.”\n\n\t“No doubt.” Diana unfurled a map of the Eastern Kingdoms on a nearby table. “Point to your fam’s home, and I’ll put you in their backyard.”\n\n\tThe monk knew the exact spot, but pointed to an unclaimed patch of open field within walking distance. “This would be best. I don’t want any guards catching me, or, like, sensing the magical disturbance.”\n\n\t“Smart elf,” Diana added with a grin of her own. “Shame you can’t stay. Could’ve had a bit of fun before leaving.”\n\n\tHis cheeks flushed a dark plum color. “M-maybe next time.”\n\n\tDiana clicked her tongue and gave him a pat on the shoulder. “Oh I’m [i]teasing[/i], Dad keeps me occupied enough around here, thanks.”\n\n\tAthilis had to do a double-take. “Huh? Carson?”\n\n\tDiana went wide-eyed, and with a wave of her hands a blue portal appeared right beneath Athilis’ feet, and with a cry the void elf fell through without another word. “SORRY THANKS FOR COMING, COME AGAIN SOON!” she cried hurriedly before shutting the portal, taking a seat, and folding her arms nervously over her bust. “You and your damn big mouth, Di. \tAthilis’ gaze returned to his mother.  “We were trying to do some nice things for you.  Gia had the idea that we’d fix the bonnet we found, but we didn’t think it belonged to either of us.”

\tVivine’s gaze hardened.  “Where is it?”
