"writing": "<4>\n\nBob slowly uprighted himself next to her and let his gaze wander up and down Val’s body. She was beautiful, truly, and he wished he had noticed it sooner. The outline of her one-piece swimsuit had left most of her body a stark, pale white, while her arms, legs, and face were beautifully sun-kissed, yet still soft to the touch. There were more than just freckles on her cheeks as well. Patches of them appeared over her belly, breasts, and especially her back when she swung her legs over the edge of her bed. Bob suddenly touched her shoulder from behind. “You… don’t sound certain.”\n\n“I’m not,” she admitted and stood. “I miss the sea, but I’d be daft to just up and go back because some random guy washed up on shore and got me fired. That’s a lotta change to undergo in less than a day.”\n\nBob winced. “Maybe so, but what do you have to lose? It sounds like you could use a change of pace.”\n\nThe naked ex-lifeguard strode across to her small kitchen, turned on a burner, and placed a water-filled teapot. “And what’s it to you?” she shot back with a half-chuckle, turning to face him and planting both hands on the countertop behind her. “Sounds like you want me to come with ya. Badly.”\n\n“Well… maybe I do,” he admitted. “You did just help me regain some of my memories, intentional or not. You saved my life, you gave me shelter, you’re offering me passage to follow the one lead I have for my life….”\n\nVal saw it in his eyes. “Ya want another taste, don’t’cha?”\n\nBob recognized this as a trap. He remained stoic and quiet.\n\nVal snickered as she shut off her burner and poured two cups of hot water, then added a couple tea bags. “I’m just givin' ya shit! Here,” she said and sauntered across the room to hand him his cup. “Alright, ya swayed me. First thing tomorrow morning, we’re off to sea. Just be prepared to deal with a first class jackass for a captain.”\n\nBob’s gaze drifted toward the far wall as he sipped his tea, and for a long moment he had to wonder what he might’ve just gotten himself into.\n\nThen again, if he could learn more about himself, the cost would be worth it, as would Val’s company.\n\n* * * * *\n\n\tThe evening passed with the two of them making small talk. Bob didn’t have much to say, but Val was happy to catch him up on the current Boralus climate, particularly after the recent troubles with the Zandalari. By the end of the night, they both felt more at ease with each other, and neither had any issue sharing Val’s bed, sans pajamas.\n\n\tBob and Val both found themselves surprisingly comfortable sleeping next to each other that night. Bob tended to run cold, while Val ran hot, and it worked well for their naked bodies to be pinned against each other.\n\n\tWhen morning came, Val bustled about pulling on a form-fitting, white button-up shirt -a relic from her seafaring days- and an equally-tight-fitting set of green leggings. Bob still only had his stolen pair of shorts, and as Val sized him up, she clicked her tongue and shook her head. “That ain’t gonna do. Better hit the market before we cast off, eh?”\n\n\t“I don’t have any money,” he reminded her.\n\n\tVal sighed and pulled out a pouch heavy with gold and tied it to her belt. “I’ll cover ya, no worries.”\n\n\tBob bowed his head graciously, and the two of them left her apartment, locking it behind them. Their path through the streets was smooth as they made for the market, but upon entering it, Bob found himself nearly overwhelmed by the sights, sounds, and smells that suddenly accosted him. He clapped a hand over his mouth and nose as quickly as he could. “How… how can you stand it here!?”\n\n\tVal looked at him quizzically. “What? It’s just the market. C’mon, we gotta be quick.” She quickly grabbed his free wrist and pulled him into the throng, leading him toward a series of vendors with clothing and armor of all kinds on display.\n\n\tIt was here that Bob suddenly froze. “Wait!” His eyes appeared to flicker as he stared at a peculiar set of plate armor. “This. I think I should wear this.”\n\n\tVal snort-laughed. “Plate!? Yer gonna die of heat stroke on the sea by wearin’ plate!”\n\n\t“I think I’m supposed to wear it,” he insisted, vaguely remembering an image from his perspective of trudging through muddy terrain, accompanied by loud clinking. “I can take it.”\n\n\tVal looked down at her coin purse and sighed. “I suppose I wasn’t gonna need all this anyway. Alright. Try it on.”\n\n\tVal chatted with the vendor as Bob rushed to the armor. He drew quite a few stares as he shamelessly dropped his shorts in front of the crowd, then quickly pulled on a fitting undershirt and leggings for cushioning. True to his hunch, the armor fit like a glove, though he stowed the pauldrons and helmet in his satchel for later use. Without them, even wearing plate armor from his chest down, he looked significantly more… normal.\n\n\tAnd in Val’s eyes, handsome.\n\n\t“Keep the change,” she muttered and passed the entire coin purse to the vendor. She grinned and let out a sharp whistle as she approached Bob and sized him up and down. “Look at youuuu! Pardon me for bein’ skeptical! How do ya feel?”\n\n\tThe weight of the plate armor felt almost like nothing to him. “Better,” he said with an appreciative smile. “Thank you, again.”\n\n* * * * *\n\n\t“Well I’ll be damned! Dinnae expect ter see yer perty face so soon, let alone with a tin can followin’ ye! What, cannae git enough o’-”\n\n\t“Shut yer piehole, Barnum, afore I shut it for ye!” Val snapped angrily. “Just get us ta Grizzly Hills and ya won’t get any guff from me.”\n",
