"writing": "<2>\n\nVal cried out as the man sat bolt upright and promptly vomited a stomach full of seawater. “Dammit you ‘bout gave me a heart attack!” she exclaimed and struck him on the back several times to help him pass the water. “Take it easy, don’t fight it. Better out than in, eh?”\n\nThe man’s breathing drew ragged as the vomiting subsided. Ever so slowly, his eyes turned up to look across the beach, then out to the sea, then around to look Val in the eye. “Where am I?” he echoed in a deep, gravelly voice, as if something were permanently lodged in his throat.\n\nThe lifeguard stared back into his eyes for a long moment. They were a dazzling, ocean blue color, so striking that they almost appeared to glow in the broad daylight. “Uh, I… y-you’re in Tiragarde Sound, Kul Tiras. South o’ Boralus to be exact.”\n\nHe stared at her blankly, and he spoke as if in a daze. “That… that means nothing to me.”\n\nVal cocked an eyebrow and scrutinized him closer. “Well what does mean somethin’ to ya? Where ya from? How long ya been at sea? What ship were ya on? Perhaps most importantly: WHO are ya?”\n\nThe man’s gaze turned to the sand beneath him, and his brow crinkled in thought. “I… I can’t remember. I can’t remember anything at all.”\n\nThe lifeguard leaned over to look at him, then bit her lip, furrowed her brow, and stuck her hand out in his direction. “Well I’m Valeria. Val for short. Good to meet’cha, Bob.”\n\nHis eyes flickered for a moment, and as if waking from a reverie, he chuckled and took her hand. “And how did you figure my name was ‘Bob’?”\n\n“‘Cause I found ya bobbin’ in the water,” she stated matter-of-factly. “C’mon, we need to get ya somewhere and find ya some clothes’re somethin’. You’ll catch a cold out here if ya keep up the skinny-dippin’.”\n\n‘Bob’ nodded, then looked down at himself in response to her words. “My apologies… I know it’s not proper to be like this in front of a lady.”\n\nVal laughed and helped him to his feet. “Proper one, eh? Ya just about died, can’t fault ya for hangin’ dong.”\n\nA half-chuckle escaped him, and as he stood, he finally took a moment to look his savior up and down for a moment. “Is that an attempt at making me feel comfortable?” he remarked and pointed at her.\n\n“Eh?” She looked down, and her freckled face turned a deep crimson. The bottom of her swimsuit was still tugged aside, and her labia was on full display… not to mention covered in sand. “Ah, uh, no, but I appreciate ya mentionin’ it.” She uncomfortably tugged the fabric back over her clean shaven quim, but the sand was almost immediately uncomfortable. “Guess I need a shower about as much as you do now.”\n\n* * * * *\n\n\tVal did her due diligence in closing up her end of the while helping Bob stay aloft. He seemed unbothered by his own state of undress for the most part, though he did place a hand over himself when they approached Val’s superior. “Wait a sec,” she told him, carefully balancing him to stand on his own, then marching over to exchange some… heated words with the head lifeguard. Bob politely turned away and avoided eavesdropping.\n\n\tVal looked exhausted upon her return. “Alright, let’s go home. I got a small place in Boralus where ya can freshen up. We can find ya some shorts in the lost and found bin before we go.”\n\n\t“Thank you,” Bob returned. “But if I may… what was that about? Are you alright?”\n\n\tThe lifeguard grimaced and didn’t look at him as they walked. “The long and short of it is I was fired for leavin’ my post. But I don’t care. Was gettin’ sick of this job anyhow.”\n\n\t“I’m sorry,” Bob echoed. “This is my fault.”\n\n\t“Nah, not even for a second,” she insisted. “That guy’s always been a jackass anyway. I’m glad this is my last day. Onward and upward, y’know?”\n\n\tBob nodded in agreement. There wasn’t much left in the lost and found bin, but a pair of small, green shorts were just big enough to fit over Bob’s hips. Satisfied, the two of them made for the nearest gryphon, and after a short flight they stood in the middle of the ever-bustling Boralus. “Don’t wander, alright? Ya ain’t got anything to steal, but that’ll just piss off the cutpurses who figure it out.”\n\n\tAnother agreeing nod, and the two of them hurried down main street, turned a few quick corners, and ended up in front of a small, somewhat rickety-looking apartment. “After you,” she said after unlocking her door and tugging it open.\n\n\tThe disheveled human looked around slowly. The apartment was incredibly small. The kitchen and bedroom were two ends of the same room, and the only two doors along the far wall had to be to the bathroom and, likely, a closet. Bob took a few steps in, then stopped as he tried to absorb his new settings.\n\n\tVal stepped in behind him and locked the door. “It ain’t much, but it’s cozy enough for one, I guess.” She walked up next to him and followed his gaze… then sighed. “I ain’t used to it either.”\n\n\tBob looked at her. “You haven’t lived here long?”\n\n\tShe shook her head. “Just moved in last week. Don’t have gold to afford anything better. Thank my asshole ex for that one.”\n\n\t”It’s nice.”\n\n\t”Pfft! Don’t have to lie, Bob. Have a seat. I’ll be quick, then you can have a turn.” Bob nodded and eased himself down onto the edge of her unmade bed -there were no chairs anywhere in sight- then looked up to find Val with her back turned, nonchalantly yanking her bathing suit down past her shoulders. The ex-lifeguard glanced over her shoulder, knowing before she did that he’d be staring, and rolled her eyes emphatically. “Don’t get too damn excited. It’s a small place and it’s mine, no need to be a prude.”\n",
