I was not too sure about if I should post this to FurAffinity, or what rating I should give it. I assume there is a difference between a character merely alluding to the death of another as opposed to it happening within the text of the story. I guess I overthink this A LOT. I should stop taking so dang long just letting it sit unpublished on a site.",

  "writing": "My people live to dig through Earth and soil\nIn the mines and caverns where we toil\nMother Earth is the only mother I have left\nMy childhood was lost in the greatest theft\nSomewhere, I believe, is a bird that has my mother's soul\nFor the rest of her moves no more and stays within a hole\nAnd so I hold close to the ground and cling dirt to my chest\nTo think of one so dear to me reincarnated within a nest\nIs it wrong to think I will be able to fly during this life and not my next?\nIs that not the way things shall go according to my people's ancient text?\nAs a mole it is natural for me to look above to those who can fly without aid\nThe birds of course, but also those people of another sky crossing clade\nBut to be able to go where one wants like a certain child has showed me\nWas it a sign that I shall take a chance with forces that will set me free\nFor sometimes hope flies through blue skies on wings composed of feather\nBut sometimes hope flies through the night on wings which resemble leather.",
