Hello there, welcome here, take a seat, feel yourself at home. I think I should introduce myself. My Name is Balto. Balto Star, precisely. I was razzed by my mother, a grey wolf, her name is Christa. She is really awesome, very careful, especially after she had to raise me alone. I was born, like many other pups, with a dark fur, and blue eyes. My mom couldn’t decide for a name, so in the first few weeks, I didn’t have one. As grew older, my eyes became yellow, and my fur on the stomach, chest, my paws, the underside of my tail and muzzle got brighter and brighter, till they’ve turned completely white, but the rest still remained in a darker, brown-grey colour. Strange enough for a pure breed wolf, but this was the reason my mother gave me my name, Balto. She told me that there was a movie she really liked, based on a true story, and because of the colours of my fur, I reminded her so much of that mixed breed wolf-dog which was the protagonist in this film. In Kindergarten I started hating my name… The other kids always teased me, ran after me, asked stupid questions, all because of my name… My time in school wasn’t much better, except that I found some very good friends, whom I still have and don’t want to miss in my life. I often thought about changing my name, but after I learned about the real story of Balto, I decided to keep it. In memoriam of the real dog and his legacy. I also visited the statue of him in New York, and himself in Cleveland. And now, I am proud to wear his name! Because of what happened in my childhood, I am still a very shy wolf, I don’t talk much, and I don’t attend parties or go places with too many strangers that often. Well, you’ve heared several things about me so far, if you demand to know anything else, just ask and I’ll gladly reply.
