Before his son was born, he scoffed at the idea of parenthood. Life is so much better when one is unrestrained and free. The benefits of being able to do whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted would surely far outweigh anything children could provide. Now that his son had grown up a bit, however, he found that children had their unexpected perks. Take hunting for instance: it had long turned into a boring habit he almost did out of necessity. As an adult he couldn't afford to take risks, so he had to skip on the fun and go for the quick, safe kill. A child suddenly made the whole thing fun again. So long the kid didn't get hurt too badly, it wouldn't matter much if he got scratched up a bit once in a while. Having parents meant there was no pressure to be able to constantly hunt and to be in top shape, so he could let his kid engage in all sorts of silly hijinks while he kept watch from a short distance. And the practical jokes were a lot of fun, too! He couldn't believe that he had bought the story about the eggs, but it was fortunate that he had: this was the best show he'd seen in a while.
