| " | \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tVerdant had started her day with some typical late-pregnancy cramps and sickness so after brushing her mane, eating breakfast, and getting ready for her day she sat down and gently rubbed her large belly. Just as her cramps were letting up she heard a knock at her door so she heaved herself up and waddled to the door to find her friend and co-worker, Renai standing there. “You’re almost 20 minutes late!” Verdant jokingly exclaimed, she and Renai had taken to walking to work together since they were both so close birthing “NGH! Yeah, well, my foal slowed me down a bit…” Renai responded, “I’ve been having contractions all night, this ones definitely coming today…” “And you’re still going to work today?” Verdant asked quizzically, already knowing the answer “Where better to give birth than my own birthing clinic?” Renai shot back, she and Verdant had both carried more foals than they cared to count so labor and birth wasn’t as scary to them as it used to be “GNNNH! …Lets get going before this foal drops out me right here” The two of them set off on their walk to the birthing clinic and talked about their respective clients as the went. Renai had sent a messenger to the surrogate mother of her foal to tell her to meet them at the birthing clinic as soon as possible and Verdant told Renai about her client, a young first time mother who came in every day for the last week thinking she was in labor though she never was. Every couple minutes they would stop as Renai rode out her contractions and Verdant noticed her cramps were getting worse as they walked, she slowed down as another cramp gripped and noticed the amniotic sac bulging between Renai’s legs as she walked past, lost in her own contraction. As Verdant watched, Renai stopped and gritted her teeth as her belly tightened, she planted her hooves and arched her back as she pushed with the contraction, and right before Verdant’s eyes the foals front hooves emerged and ripped the amniotic sac open. Renai gasped loudly as fluid gushed out of her and pooled at her hooves. “AH! Oh~ that feels better” Renai cooed, Verdant knew what she meant, a great deal of pressure was relieved when the waters broke, “Lets keep moving though, I don’t think this one wants to wait much longer” Renai began to waddle in the direction of the clinic again, her foals hooves poking awkwardly out of her. Verdant began to follow when she felt another cramp that stopped her in her tracks, was she in labor too? The cramp subsided and she quickly caught back up to Renai who had already stopped again due to a contraction. Renai moaned as the foals snout emerged from her, drawing the attention of some passers by. “Just breath Renai, we’re only a block away from the clinic now” Verdant said as she rocked her hips through her latest cramp “haaaahh… I’m trying” Renai panted, “this foal is really determined” Renai moaned again and tried to take a step forward, resulting in the foals head popping out of her with a splash of fluid. The two of them managed to walk a few more paces before Renai felt another contraction, her birthing clinic was just a couple doors down and they were starting to draw quite a bit of attention. Renai tried to keep walking despite the mounting pressure between her hips but she could feel herself slowly stretching around the foal and with a sudden, sharp pain the shoulders burst out of her, “Sweet Celestia!” She exclaimed as she looked back to try to catch a glimpse of her foal and noticed Verdant had fallen behind. Verdant had watched as Renai pushed her foals shoulders out but now she was in the midst of her worst cramp so far, she put her head down and did her best to breath through it but now she was feeling something new, like something was bulging out of her. Before she had time to process what was happening she heard a pop and felt warm fluid running down her legs “OH! Looks like we’re both foaling today!” Verdant moaned “Ah-AH! Lets get in the clinic before we let these two drop though” Renai said as she waddled up to the door, her foal brushing up against the insides of her thighs. Renai held the door open and the two mares awkwardly waddled inside. Once inside Renai gave into instinct and pushed with everything she had, her foal sliding smoothly out of her with a final splash of amniotic fluid. “OOOoooOOOooh~” she moaned as she turned around to clean her foal, “you were really in a hurry to come out, weren’t you?” Meanwhile Verdant was struggling with another contraction as she pulled together some cushions to lay down on, by the time her bedding was done she’d already pushed the foals head out. With a loud sigh she flopped down on the cushions and slowly pushed her foals first shoulder out. “Haaa… I can’t believe this, I didn’t even feel any contractions…” She moaned as the second shoulder slipped out “Consider yourself lucky” Renai replied, “I’m already sore from pushing all night” “I guess you’re right, at least this one didn’t hur- NNGH!” Verdant was cut off mid sentence as she cramped again and her foal slid out and landed softly on the cushions she’d layed out. Renai and Verdant spent the next half hour cleaning and cuddling with their foals and joking with each other about getting an earlier start on the walk to work next time when a distressed pegasus burst into the storefront, she was heavily pregnant and her back legs were soaked with thick amniotic fluid. “VERDANT! This time its real! My water just broke!” She shouted as she rounded the corner to the birthing suite they were in Right behind her was the middle aged mare who’s foal Renai had just delivered “Renai! Did you already have the foal!?” She rounded the corner to find Renai curled around the newborn and her heart melted. She layed down to cuddle the foal and thanked Renai repeatedly.
