"description": "It only took a little while and some splashes of water to get the cub to come back to the waking world. Shenzi had gently scooped the cub up by his nape, and carried the-far too light- lion over to a water hole Timon knew was nearby.\n\nShe tried to lay next to him, intent on bringing him some comfort, but that plan went up in smoke the moment he saw Timon. His eyes became feral in a heartbeat and Timon had dove down his burrow instantly, wishing the hyena Queen good luck as the cub thrashed and jammed his paws into the burrow frantically, his mewling and snarling pitiful but all the more desperate. \n\n\"Kid...\" She'd said, to get his attention, and that was when he'd turned to her. His feral stance drooped, his tail shot under him and the cub dropped his ears deep into his neck. His little red eyes became pinpricks, like he'd seen a ghost.\n\nShenzi had lifted a paw, only for him to bolt, scrambling down the dirt trail in a sad but frantic dash for safety. She'd never sighed so heavily in her life, as she stood, and plodded down the path. She was easily able to keep up with him, but stayed a ways back so he wouldn't run himself ragged again.\n\nShe found him huddled deep in a broken down, moss covered log, panting and huffing from the exertion. Bug shells and scratch marks littered the den entrance he'd made, and the scent of scat and ammonia was present but not strong enough that she felt this was his current residence.\n\nProbably one of many little protective spots he's made for himself, especially with those leopards prowling the jungle.\n\nLaying on her belly so as to appear smaller, she took a moment to look at the mark on her shoulder, even nuzzled it once. \"I don't know what you are yet, but you seem to be important...so like, give me strength or something, the cub needs it.\" She whispered.\n\nThe mark didn't react in any way that told her it listened, so she refocused on Simba. \"Kid, Simba, look I'm not here to hurt you oka–\"\n\n\"LEAVE!\" Simba snarled from the burrow. \"I...I s-said I wouldn't come back!\" She watched as the cub huddled himself tight into a ball in the corner of the den, his tail in his teeth as he chittered nervously.\n\nA nervous tic she'd seen frightened animals do, biting one's tail was a sign of panic. She closed her eyes and simply rest her head on her paws. \"I...I can't go home with out you, Simba. I was tasked with bringing you back.\"\n\nThe cub whined, his fangs chattering around his worn tail tuft, the fur missing in patches. \"Th-this is home, I am home.\"\n\nHis eyes slanted away as he said it, his paws kneaded the fur on his shoulders as the cub tried to scoot even farther away. Even so his eyes hardened for a few seconds \"L-leave, I...I won't f-fall for your tricks, hyena.\" He bared his dirty broken teeth at her. \"N-not again...not ever again.\"\n\nShenzi clenched her own canines under her lips, not wanting to bare them at the cub, but his fear was the biggest problem. \"Okay, that...I get it, okay? I chased you and your friend Nala a few times, makes sense you wouldn't trust me for that...right?\"\n\nHe didn't even nod, just glared at her in silence.\n\nShe bobbed her head left and right. \"Y-yeah, kay that's fair, you don't trust me cause of past ah, transgressions, I get that. B-but i'm not the same Hyena you knew back then...and your pride needs you, now more than ever.\"\n\nSimba frowned, slowly unsheathing his claws and swiping at her as she spoke. The cub was too far away to make any contact, but she could tell her words weren't getting through. \"Look...the pride lands don't have a king any more...Scar ah, passed away.\"\n\nThat gave Simba pause. \"Un-uncle Scar is gone?\" Hope seemed to bloom in the recesses of his eyes, but then it faded and he looked away again. \"No, no just another trick...Scar told me to run away...after what I did? I can't go back.\"\n\nShenzi felt her back molars grinding down with annoyance. Even after death Scar was a thorn in her side. \"Kid, I don't know what he told you, or what you think you did, but Scar passed on, and your mother is now Queen. Sarabi tasked me with bringing you home, you're the next heir in line for the throne.\"\n\nHe went to snarl at her but his stomach growled loudly. His paws wrapped around his stomach and the cub groaned, curling in on himself. \"I-I'm no king...\" He whined.\n\nShenzi knew that look. she'd seen it many times on her brothers and sisters in the pack, back when Mufasa was king and when she was a pup. That full on starvation gaze was not something she wanted to see again, especially on Simba's muzzle.\n\n\"L-Look, Smiba, believe me or not, trust me or not, I AM telling the truth, and if I have to stay in this jungle for a whole month just to get through to you, cub, I damn well will.\" She softly growled.\n\nStanding, she backed away from the den, and turned to leave. \"You're starving, and I'm going to go hunt some food for you, please just...stay there okay? Even if you run off, i'll just follow your scent trail and eventually catch up. Stay, rest, and keep an eye out for predators.\"\n\n\"Besides you, you mean.\" He grunted from the burrow, turning to watch her as she loped away. His eyes caught the shimmering roaring lion mark on her shoulder, and he blinked in surprise as the hyena Queen vanished into the under brush.\n\n\"Wait...how...that shouldn't be possible...\" He whispered.\n\nShe called out as her voice faded. \"Hopefully by the end of this you'll see me as a friend, kid.\"\n\nAs the forest grew still, and Simba found himself alone, his mind fell back to memories, fond memories of his father and him looking out over the stars at night.\n\nLook up there Simba, to the right side of the sky rests a symbol. Do you see it?\n\nYes, the lion shaped one?\n\nThe mark of the Lion Guard, not a symbol to be taken lightly. Your Uncle Scar once had it, and he and seven other lions in the pride were the defenders of the land and the kingdom.\n\nBut over time, those who do not honor their calling lose the mark, or if they are still good and just, they pass it on to the next worthy lion.\n\nCan I get it Dad?\n\nAhahah, Of course, if you are the right lion for the task. But remember, only lions who are good and wish for the land to grow, and heal, may gain that mark. Only those brave and kind and strong will ever bear that mark on their shoulder. The great kings gift it to them, along with a mighty roar that can tear the earth and move mountains.\n\n...What about other animals, like elephants or the hyena you chased off? Rafiki once said he new a crane that was part of the Lion Gaurd!\n\n...Dad?\n\n....No Simba. Do not trust everything that mandrill says. No other animal can gain that mark. It is not possible, because the Kings only see their fellow lions...We are kings for a reason, son. They are beneath us for it is their place.\n\nW-well what about the circle of life? Doesn't that mean they share the land?\n\nYes, but even those who use the land need leaders. I am the Lion King, The hyena have a Queen, the elephants a matriarch, so on and so forth...but Lions are just....better, you understand?\n\nUm, yes.\n\nThere's a good lad, now why don't we head home, I need to train Nala tomorrow rather early. \n\nSimba peered at the bushes where Shenzi had vanished, and he found himself frowning. Even when his father had told him the story, something had seemed...off about the tale. usually it was light hearted and fair all around. but the stories his father told him at night were different, they were always putting the lions before every one else in the pride lands and something about that felt wrong to the cub.\n\nDoubt found its place in his mind as Shenzi returned with a crushed water mongoose in her jaws. She dropped it before the den and then backed off several feet. \n\nEven as Simba's feral mind took over and the cub yanked the carcass into his den and started ripping it apart, a shred of nervous doubt tickled him as Shenzi lay there watching him. the mark on her shoulder glimmered in the sunlight.\n\nHad his father lied to him?\n\n>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>\n\nANNNND its back folks! \n\ngive me your comments and thoughts, they are delicious birb seed for this warble ^^\n\nalso, consider supporting my substar! that's where all this gets posted first! \n\nhttps://subscribestar.adult/backlash91",

Do you see it?<br /><br /><strong>Yes, the lion shaped one</strong>?<br /><br />The mark of the Lion Guard, not a symbol to be taken lightly. Your Uncle Scar once had it, and he and seven other lions in the pride were the defenders of the land and the kingdom.<br /><br />But over time, those who do not honor their calling lose the mark, or if they are still good and just, they pass it on to the next worthy lion.<br /><br /><em>Can I get it Dad</em>?<br /><br />Ahahah, Of course, if you are the right lion for the task. But remember, only lions who are good and wish for the land to grow, and heal, may gain that mark. Only those brave and kind and strong will ever bear that mark on their shoulder. The great kings gift it to them, along with a mighty roar that can tear the earth and move mountains.<br /><br />...<em>What about other animals, like elephants or the hyena you chased off? Rafiki once said he new a crane that was part of the Lion Gaurd</em>!<br /><br />...<strong>Dad</strong>?<br /><br />....No Simba. Do not trust everything that mandrill says. No other animal can gain that mark. It is not possible, because the Kings only see their fellow lions...We are kings for a reason, son. They are beneath us for it is their place.<br /><br /><strong>W-well what about the circle of life? Doesn&#039;t that mean they share the land</strong>?<br /><br />Yes, but even those who use the land need leaders. I am the Lion King, The hyena have a Queen, the elephants a matriarch, so on and so forth...but Lions are just....better, you understand?<br /><br /><strong>Um, yes</strong>.<br /><br />There&#039;s a good lad, now why don&#039;t we head home, I need to train Nala tomorrow rather early</em>. <br /><br />Simba peered at the bushes where Shenzi had vanished, and he found himself frowning. Even when his father had told him the story, something had seemed...off about the tale. usually it was light hearted and fair all around. but the stories his father told him at night were different, they were always putting the lions before every one else in the pride lands and something about that felt wrong to the cub.<br /><br />Doubt found its place in his mind as Shenzi returned with a crushed water mongoose in her jaws. She dropped it before the den and then backed off several feet. <br /><br />Even as Simba&#039;s feral mind took over and the cub yanked the carcass into his den and started ripping it apart, a shred of nervous doubt tickled him as Shenzi lay there watching him. the mark on her shoulder glimmered in&nbsp;&nbsp;the sunlight.<br /><br />Had his father lied to him?<br /><br />&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;<br /><br />ANNNND its back folks! <br /><br />give me your comments and thoughts, they are delicious birb seed for this warble ^^<br /><br />also, consider supporting my substar! that&#039;s where all this gets posted first! <br /><br /><a href=\"https://subscribestar.adult/backlash91\" rel=\"nofollow\">https://subscribestar.adult/backlash91</a></span>",
