The Creation of Stars _____________________ The void. Empty and black, filled with nothing, but one thing sat within to make it colorful. A dark-haired rabbit, covered in bright blue and green markings. She was ethereal, transparent, but there. A goddess. Spirit. Ghost. Naked, as such creatures had no use for such things as clothes. She sat in the center of nothing, waiting. For what, she didn't know. She only knew that she had to wait. She waited, and sat, and waited. It felt like an eternity. Was it? She was ageless, and time was not a measure in this dark. But the more she waited, the more she felt that she needed to move. To squirm in impatience. To stand up and find what she needed instead of wait for it. She did not know what this feeling was, but her form was becoming impatient, a feeling rising up from somewhere deep inside herself. From just below her belly. It was difficult to handle, but she continued to wait, as she was meant to. She waited, despite the distracting force that was steadily growing within her, and she was handling it for a time. But it kept growing as she sat in the same place, eventually becoming too powerful to manage. She stood up, no longer able to wait. Unfortunately for her, the sudden motion of climbing to her feet after sitting completely still for so long caused her legs to sway. Was she tired? Was this feeling sapping her strength too? The pressure was making it's way downwards now that her form was upright. She realized that it was trying to force it's way through her sacred spot, and it caused her to swiftly throw her hands between her legs. She didn't know what it was, but she wasn't sure that she wanted it to escape. Her legs gave way to her weariness, and she fell softly against the pitch black nothing. It was not a hard fall, but it jolted her enough that she heard a soft hissing noise and felt something warm on her hands soon after. That stuff inside her was escaping! She pressed down hard on herself, and the hissing stopped. Reluctantly, she removed a hand from her sacred spot and looked at it with her own two eyes. Gold. Wet, shiny gold that was soaking into and dripping from her fur-covered fingers. She looked at it closely and saw that it was glimmering and sparkling in some kind of powerful light, but there was no light in this darkness. Then she watched as it slowly dripped from her digits and sparkled downward, but before it hit the floor, it began to sparkle more gloriously and float above her feet. It didn't fall, it instead glided above her and made light of it's own. She made the first lights in the darkness. Thats what was inside her. Light. She had to let it out. She brought her fingers back downward and used them to open her sacred place, the doors to her secret holes, and held her legs apart. Immediately relaxing herself, she released the light. At first it looked like any other fountain of water. She was not aware that her kind could do this. Then, as the golden liquid shot forth, it glowed brighter and seperated into tiny drops that defied the gravity that affected her. It spiraled and soared, twisted and dropped, until the first drops settled in place and glowed with a beautiful light. More drops followed, glowing brighter and brighter, as the goddess continued emptying herself, nowhere near done. It was another eternity until she was done. By that time, there were more lights than she could ever hope to count. Tiny squirts leaked out of her sacred spot, pulling every drop out of her until she was absolutely empty. Those drops quickly joined the others in the sky above the star-maker goddess. The void was full of light, now. She smiled to herself, proud of what she had done, and glad that she had waited long enough to do this. She released herself and got back to her feet, watching as these "stars" danced and moved through the no-longer empty void. It was beautiful. She had done her job, and she slowly faded back into the darkness with the other spirits.
