"description": "1962, Mediterranean Sea, the American aircraft carrier USS Independence crosses an elegant sailing ship on its course and promptly asks through a light signal \"who are you?\".\nThe answer was \"Amerigo Vespucci training ship, Italian Navy\"\nThe reply of the American ship is still now engraved in the annals of the Italian Navy...they says \"You're the most beautiful ship in the world\"\n\nOther useful informations about this ship can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_training_ship_Amerigo_Vespucci\n\nAbout the draw:\nThis draw seriously risked not seeing the light, even before it was inked...because while it was on my drawing stand, a gust of wind made it end up on the ground, where it was targeted by my cat. I managed to get it out of my cat's clutches just in time (albeit with some scars) and it seemed irreparably ruined.\nThen the brainstorm; the drawing refers to a historical fact, which occurred in an era with black and white still in the films and photos. So, instead of doing a colored draw (as it was originally supposed to be), I opted to \"color\" it only in black and white; and the wrinklings of the sheet would have given that touch of antique, maybe vintage...and I think that effect could have done quite well\n\nI hope you enjoy it ;)\n\nPS: Here's the photo from which I took inspiration for this drawing https://i.redd.it/t3ws4wrkg1451.jpg\n\n\nEDIT: This year, the Amerigo Vespucci ship turns 90 years old. In its long history, the ship has covered more than 800.000 nautical miles\n\nAfter 60 years, the meeting was recreated in almost the same place, but in this case with the USS George W. Bush https://youtu.be/I103uB0zp6M",
