It had been a hard-fought battle, but in the end the dragon had simply been far too strong for you. With your lance and your shield broken to splinters, the beast had cornered you at the back of its cave, and now all that was left was to wait. Exhausted and covered in sweat, you slumped down into the dust and powdered bones that had gathered over the years within the dragon's lair, glaring in hatred at the sleek, rubbery body of the black and red monster that stood powerfully before you. "Damn you, you monster." You cursed, searching in the darkness for any weapon that you might find there "If I only had a sword..." You could feel the heat of its body through the thick padding of your aketon and the mail layered on top of it, and you wondered almost absentmindily how hot it must be in the stomach of that terrible creature. No sane thing of the earth could be so large, with its height nearing that of the tallest spires of the merchant's hall of your hometown, and the air itself was filled with the strange scent of its scaly flesh. Terrible yellow eyes shined in the darkness, sizing you up you with intentions too awful to imagine, and your nostrils filled with the odour of fire and brimstone as it stomped towards you, its spiky tail as long as the mast of a carrack swishing back and forth in glee at the prospect of its upcoming meal. You knew that the end had arrived, and in a last act of defiance, you told the beast that it hoped that it choked on you. At this, there was a roar of terrible laughter, with the dragon sitting back on its hind legs to regard your powerlessness with delight. "Eat you?" It asked in a voice like the sound of summer thunder "I really would sooner choke than snack upon a whelp as pathetic as you!" It laughed once more, waving a clawed hand in contempt. "Feh! I'll have you know that I only feast upon the finest of Teklem Lizards, and not slimy humans!" Were it not for the evil glare in the eyes of the dragon, you might have breathed a sigh of relief at this, but you could see an expression across its face that looked to you to be damnably like a grin. "T-Teklem Lizards?" You asked cautiously "I've never heard of them; surely they must be exotic?" The great dragon laughed, saying that they were rare indeed. "So rare, in fact, that they have never been found in nature, and can be produced in only one way." You gulped; one way? "Yes, via magical alteration." Before you could scream, a sort of heaviness fell over your body, and you found yourself unable to move without the greatest effort of the will. All that you could focus upon were the bright eyes of the dragon: so yellow, so full of ancient evil and power, so relaxing. You felt your body begin to sink forward, unable to resist the compulsion of the magical charm that had been placed upon you, and slowly your head neared the earth. There was a sudden sensation of coolness moving across your skin, a sort of ticklish ripple that passed from the top of your head down to your toes, and you felt yourself shiver in pleasure at the entirely novel sensation. Your armor and the clothing underneath of it began to feel very strange, as if it had somehow been very rendered smooth, and you felt as if it were being made larger and larger as the seconds ticked away. It soon became apparent that your clothes weren't changing, but that you were: your torso shrinking, your arms becoming shorter, your entire anatomy painlessly rearranging itself into a new configuration. Sticky pads and claws appeared on your palm and at the tips of your fingers as your skin blossomed into wonderful, smooth scales, and you noticed with detachment that a rather large tail was now growing from your posterior. Your formerly tight fitting clothes and armor were now so large that they covered you like a sail, and you wiggled your way free of them into the dragon's cave, which was now far cooler to your cold-blooded body. Your tongue flicked at the air involuntarily, tasting there new scents and sensations, and you were about to crawl away to begin your new life as a rogue Teklem lizard when the massive hand of the dragon closed itself over you. "Going somewhere my little snack?" Taunted the dragon as he grabbed you by the tail and lifted you off of the ground. "After all of the trouble that you've put me through, I think I would rather keep you somewhere nice and safe!" With that, the dragon opened its massive, tooth-filled maw and dropped you in as you wiggled and squirmed for dear life, landing on its gigantic, soft tongue that was coated with hot saliva and slime far too slick to gain any traction against. Your feeble talons were not even a distraction for the strong tissue that lined the mouth and throat of the beast, and it giggled as you were sent screaming down its gullet on a one-way ride to its fat, greedy belly. The dragon, although enjoying this morsel, knew that it had a lot of work ahead of it. "Well, about a hundred more, and we can call it a meal...." It said to itself as it turned around, and trotted out of the cave to find more knights to eat.
