Meeting Bry’s New Little Niece

That day was just a normal day for the most part but I got some surprise visitors. I hear a knock on the door and go to open it. I open the door to see my brother Light holding a little bundle in his arms “Hey Bry long time no see. Mind if I can come in?” “Sure come on in Light” I say opening the door wide “You’re always welcome in my house silly. What’s that little bundle you’re holding?” “A little surprise I thought you should meet. Let me sit down so I can show you” he says walking into the living room. Light takes a seat on one of my couches and I sit down next to him. I’m staring at the bundle as he starts to gently unwrap it. Inside the bundle was a little baby hedgehog girl. “Oh my god Light so this is my little niece that you’ve been talking nonstop about” I say taking in the little girl’s features. She is a water blue hedgehog with stripes like Light has but they’re white. She is wearing purple-blue baby pajamas and she is holding that little white spotted sock monkey that I made for her months ago. ‘Isn’t she adorable Adria’ I ask mentally to her still looking at the little baby. ‘Very’ Adria says just as enamored with the baby as I am. “Good god isn’t she precious. So what’s this little one’s name and can I hold her?” I ask eyes still glued to the baby’s sleeping form. “Hehe Ashley and I decided to go with your suggestion and named her Pearl. Yeah you can hold her Bry just be careful with her ok” Light says and hands me little Pearl. 

I take Pearl and cradle her in my arms. I continue to look at her as I say “How’s Ashley handling being a new mother?” “Ashley’s acting like she’s meant to be a mother” Light says looking at his daughter in my arms. I gently start to rock little Pearl in my arms, my eyes never leaving her sleeping form “So she’s adjusting well to having a baby around?” “Yeah she is” Light says smiling as Pearl yawns and cuddles up to me in my arms. I gentle cuddle her myself with a smile on my face “That’s good to know Light. I’m glad Ashley’s adjusting well to the changes. Has this little one been keeping you up at night?” “Yeah Pearl has woken Ashley up a few times but she taking it in good humor” Light says with a smile “She hasn’t woken me up once though and she doesn’t really cry a lot.” “She’ll grow out of waking up on the middle of the night. You’re quite lucky to have such a good baby Light” I reply. “Yeah” Light says as Pearl cutely yawns in my arms. “Good grief, I need to give Pearl back to you Light before I decide to keep her here” I say as Pearl yawns again. Light laughs a little as I hand Pearl back over to him “No kidding.” “Yeah, make sure to keep an eye on her Light. I really don’t want your fans or egghead running off with her” I say still looking at Pearl. “Or Sonic either” Light says as Pearl wakes up.

Pearl opens her eyes and starts looking at me which I find extremely adorable. I look at her with a smile and say “Good morning sweetie I’m your auntie Bry. Did you enjoy your nap?” Pearl responds with a large yawn and stretches out her arms. She is rubbing her eyes with her little hands as I say still smiling “Aren’t you just the cutest little thing. I guess you did enjoy your nap.” Pearl starts staring at me with her large blue-green eyes and I say while my smile is growing larger “Awww she’s so precious Light. You’re probably laughing right now because of how I’m acting but I really don’t care.” Light starts giggling a little as I reach over and start tickling little Pearl’s cute belly with my finger. Pearl is giggling cutely as Light asks with a chuckle “Where’s Adria?” I’m giggling at Pearl’s cute little laughs and say “Where else. Didn’t I tell you that she has a soft spot for kids especially babies?” Adria meanwhile is enjoying little Pearl’s reactions from inside my mind and says to no one in particular ‘hehe so cute.’

Pearl stops laughing suddenly and starts to violently shake in fear clutching her sock monkey close to her. “Huh?” Light says in confusion looking at his daughter with concern. Pearl whips her head up suddenly and starts staring at the ceiling in sheer terror. “What’s up?” I say looking up at the ceiling and I’m shocked at what I see. A baby looking just like Pearl is staring back at us but she is quite strange. The outsides of her eyes are deathly grey while her irises are outlined with black. Her eyes are an eerie yellow with blue in the middle of her eye surrounding her pupils. This baby is crawling around on the ceiling as I say “What…” Adria finishes my sentence for me within my mind ‘the fuck.’ Light looks up at the ceiling and says “What are you guys looking at?” He’s oblivious to the other baby presence as she is holding the same monkey as Pearl is clutching close to her but it’s head is ripped off and this baby is giggling evilly. Pearl is cuddling up against Light now trying to get as close as possible to him. I say while looking up understanding what this child is “Just perfect… Looks like Adria got a niece too.” I look down at Pearl and say to her comfortingly “Don’t worry sweetie she can’t do anything to hurt you while your daddy and I are around so you have nothing to worry about.”

Both Light and Adria are completely confused at the situation at hand as Light says “What?” Pearl and I meanwhile are watching the other baby crawl down from the ceiling to a nearby wall and then to the floor. I decide to explain the situation to Light in a way he could understand “I was hoping one family trait would skip a couple of generations but it didn’t. Remember Fleetway Light…?” Adria on the other hand is in shock as she figures out what the little baby is. Light shudders a little and says “How could I forget.” The other baby is starting to float off the ground as I continue my explanation “Well it looks like Pearl has a similar problem which has manifested itself over there.” I point at the other baby and Light suddenly is able to see the child and says “Oh dear.” The baby starts giggling evilly when Light spots her and Light goes pale in fear. He holds Pearl closer to himself as Adria says to me mentally ‘Bry we don’t know what this little one is going to do so you may need to switch with me.’ Adria is keeping her eyes locked on the little baby as I say to Light “I may need to switch with Adria if something bad happens. Who knows what this little one will do but there are ways to deal with this sort of problem.” “What should we name her Bry?” Light says while keeping his eyes glued on the other baby. 

“Hmm good question Light let me ask Adria” I say to him and ask Adria ‘Hey any ideas what to name this little one?’ ‘Hmm let me think’ Adria says to me deep in thought ‘Maybe Cora, Phaedra, or Laila?’ “So any ideas?” Light says a little afraid. “Yeah Adria came up with Cora, Phaedra, and Laila as names” I say watching the baby carefully “I like the name Cora myself but it’s your call Light since technically she is your daughter as well.” “Yeah let’s go with Cora” Light says as he backs up a little as Cora is floating too close to Pearl in his opinion. Cora stops and makes an evil scary face at Pearl trying to get a reaction out of her. Pearl starts to cling on to Light in fear and Cora starts giggle evilly at Pearl’s response. I’m watching both of them and say “Boy this little one is just like Adria. Maybe she’ll be able to help.” Adria starts to switch with me and Cora’s attention is suddenly shifted to Adria as she takes control of our body. Adria chuckles evilly and says to Cora with an evil smile “Aren’t you the naughty little one Cora? That name suits you since it’s one of the names given to the queen of the underworld. Fits like a glove since you’re a little demon yourself aren’t you?” Adria suddenly rushes forward and snatches little Cora out of the air. 

Cora happily squeals in surprise at being caught and Light is glad that Cora is caught as well. Adria starts tickling Cora’s little belly with one of her clawed fingers careful not to cut Cora’s skin. Adria says while Cora is giggling in her arms “You ok there Light? You’re looking a little pale. This little monster here was just playing with us like I do that’s all.” Adria then starts rubbing one of Cora’s cute little ears between her fingers getting an evil smile in return for her actions. Cora is obviously enjoying all the attention Adria is giving her as Light manages say “I’m worried that’s all Adria. I’m scared that Cora might hurt Pearl.” Adria is not looking at Light but he is surprised to see her smiling evilly in a motherly way at Cora who is still smiling evilly back at her completely oblivious that Light and Pearl are still present in the room. Adria replies to Light eyes not leaving Cora “She can’t really harm Pearl Light. Using myself and Bry as an example if Bry were to experience physical or psychological harm I would feel her pain as well. I avoid doing that sort of harm to Bry because I hate feeling pain. If Bry were to die I would die too so Cora can’t really do anything to Pearl other than toy with her a little.”
 
Adria starts to gently rub Cora’s belly eliciting a huge lion’s yawn from the baby that reveals her sharp dagger like teeth. “If you say so...” Light says still not fully convinced with Adria’s explanation. “Know so Light. Those same rules apply to Fleetway as well and since he’s most likely Cora’s “father” so those rules must apply to her as well” Adria explains as she begins to rock the now drowsy Cora in her arms. Adria continues to rock the little baby in her arms and as Cora’s eyes begin to close Adria surprises everyone and gives the little baby a gentle kiss on her forehead, whispering in the ear of the nearly asleep baby “Go to sleep little one. You’ve been playing outside for too long and it’s time to rest. Just know that you are not alone and everything will be alright.” Cora purrs in response and slips into a deep sleep. Adria continues to cradle little sleeping Cora as she fades out of existence back into Pearl’s subconscious. When Cora has completely faded away Adria says to Light “Hehe what a precious little monster she is. Manifesting like that takes a lot out of you so Cora should be out cold for a while. Cora is a prodigy child and to manifest oneself in the physical world so young is quite rare. I don’t know if Cora will be a blessing or a curse to Pearl but I’ll do all I can to help both of them deal with each other and I’ll teach Cora the rules she needs to know to survive. Bry is willing to help as well Light so you’re not alone in this.”

“Thank you, what would I do without you two?” Light says relieved that Cora has disappeared. “I don’t know Light but what I do know is that this was the most non-violent fun I’ve ever had” Adria says as she begins to switch back with me. When I retake control I say to Light “Never seen Adria act like that towards anyone before. How’s Pearl holding up Light? Having Cora show up like that must have been a shock for her.” Light looking down at Pearl says “She’s sleeping it looks like.” I check myself and sure enough Pearl is sound asleep in Light’s arms. “Looks like Pearl must have fallen asleep while Adria was playing with Cora” I say with relief “Fwew glad that’s over.” Light takes a seat on the couch and says surprised “Adria seemed to like Cora. It was very weird see her act like that.” I sit down next to him and reply “Of course she would. Cora is a little baby that happens to be a bit demonic in nature that didn't scream in fear when she saw Adria which is a first mind you. I thought it was kinda sweet really seeing her like that. It shows that Adria does have a heart no matter how black it is and is a bit motherly towards Cora. Hell Cora might view Adria as a mother figure of sorts in the future since Adria was the only one here that Cora connected with.” 

“True, and Cora seemed to be quite happy with Adria playing with her. I’ve never seen that before, a creature manifesting like that... It’s quite strange really” Light replies relaxing on the couch. “Yeah it's not so strange for me since I have to deal with something similar but I'm shocked that you didn't notice Cora till I pointed her out. You looked straight at her when you looked up at the ceiling” I say slightly worried to Light. “She was on the ceiling? I didn't see anything” Light says confused. “Hmm weird that you didn't see her Light. I guess that she was only making herself visible to Pearl, Adria, and myself and didn't reveal herself to you till I pointed her out” I say still a little surprised. “I wonder why” Light says confused with Cora’s behavior. “Even Adria doesn’t know Light” I say getting up off the couch. “Looks like that oddity will remain a mystery” Light says getting up off the couch and I sigh “Oh well.” “Well anyways Bry I need to get going. It’s getting late and I need to put Pearl here to bed” Light says walking towards the door. I walk over to the door and open it for Light “Ok Light. See you later then?” “Yeah see you later Bry” Light says and he leaves the house with Pearl still sleeping in his arms.
