EROTIC ARTHUR CHAPTER BOOKS Teaser: DW's Revalation (Clean) "D.W.'s got a boooyfrieeeeend," Arthur sang, taunting his sister. "Shut up, I do not," she protested. "Arthur, honey," Mom said, "please don't. D.W. dear, why do you ask that?" "Well I see on TV and movies where people say they're in love," D.W. explained. "I just wanna know... how they know that. I mean, I know I love you, and Kate, and Arthur." Arthur felt bad for having teased her when she spoke this. "And even Pal. So if it's not family... then how do they know?" Jane Read looked at her husband David. "Well honey, its hard to say exactly. It starts out with you just enjoying each other's company." "So you mean you like doing stuff with them," D.W. asked. "It starts out that way," David chimed in. "You start out as friends, but over time it gets stronger than that. You start to like being with them even when you're not doing anything." "You feel like something's missing in your life when you're not with them," Jane added, "and when you finally meet up again, its like all is right in the world again." She smiled at David who waggled his eyebrows at his wife. "Huh," D.W. said, soaking that in. "What if they make you mad sometimes?" "That's part of it too," David said. "You will argue sometimes, yell at them sometimes, even fight with them sometimes. But afterwards, you forget all that and just remember how you feel about them." "And that's In Love?" D.W. said. "Yep," Jane said. It sounded like she was having a realization too. "You love them so much that it doesn't matter what happens. You'll always go back to them because the good is so much more important." "Does that help?" David asked. Jane looked at him and licked her lips with a smile. David grinned. "Yeah, I guess," the aardvark girl said. "Good, good," David said hurriedly as he dug into his pants pocket and pulled out some money. "Arthur, why don't you two go down to the ice cream store and have a big sundae!" "Yay," Arthur exclaimed, taking the money. "C'mon D.W. let's go!" The two aardvarks left the house as the door was closed behind them. D.W walked next to her brother, her face a mask of concentration as she absorbed what her parents had said. She didn't know if her feelings would be shared, but she finally put it all together and had a striking revalation: "I love Bud Compson," she said to herself with awe.
