", "writing": "The Orphanage\n\nSitting in the back of the car, Slitzerikai hugged his knees while staying silent, the 5 year old fox's ears flopped back as he stared out the window at the city streets zipping past him. Glancing towards the front of the car, the cub caught his own reflection through the rear view mirror, seeing his glowing green eyes glaring back at him, his black fur matted with dust and mostly hidden underneath the dirty rags that he wore, the streaks of purple in his red hair almost entirely invisible due to the dirt that he'd accrued from living on the streets for the last few months, opportunities to take a shower being few and far in between. The kit didn't have much time to admire himself in the mirror before one of the rabbits in the front of the car adjusted the rear view mirror, making him quickly shift his eyes back off to the side as a shy blush appeared on his face, feeling an unnerving shiver taking hold of him under the gaze of the adults. Slitz had been found by one of the men working in an orphanage at the edge of town, coerced to join the bunny through promises of hot meals and a warm bed, even though the canine wasn't entirely sure about the place. Just about every cub had heard some rumours about the orphanage, about how the rabbits running the place were part of some sort of a gang, or a cult, or a conspiracy, or any other number of things, though Slitzerikai chalked the rumours up as nothing except tall tales told to scare kids. He was desperate enough to accept the help of the organisation, no matter what rumours were told, climbing into the back of the car, trying to quell the rising anxiousness in his mind as he sat still for the long ride, occasionally catching the bunnies in the front of the car staring at him. \n\nAfter waiting in the back of the car for almost half an hour, with the busy city streets slowly morphing into quiet neighbourhoods and finally an outright forest, the cub's ride pulled into the yard of a large building, old brickwork standing in the middle of a fenced in area, looming over the vehicle as the boy peeked out the window. The rabbits stepped out and opened the door for Slitz, waving for him to come out, both sporting a slight smirk, \n\"Alright, little buddy, welcome to your new home~\" \nThe fox hopped out of the car and looked up at the imposing building, long shadows cast down on it by the setting sun and the trees surrounding the estate, making it more and more difficult for him to ignore the growing dread in the back of his mind. Slitzerikai was too desperate to turn back now however, taking a deep breath as he followed the men across the yard, noticing that the place was more like a prison than any orphanage he'd ever seen, a small outbuilding that looked like a guard station standing next to the only gate leading in and out of the fenced in yard, manned by a few additional rabbits, their arms folded and their stern eyes glaring at the fox the entire time he walked towards the main doors. Stepping into the orphanage itself, Slitz got his first look at some of the other kids in the care of the organisation, spotting a few groups of cubs sitting on benches and hanging out at tables in the lobby, not a single smile or bright look in sight. He also noticed that just about all of the other cubs were predators just like himself, with many of them canines with a couple of felines and birds of prey dotted about, all under the watchful eye of the staff of rabbits. The kids didn't seem to be paying much attention to the newcomer, a few of them offering the fox a sympathetic glance before getting back to whatever they were trying to pass the time with, a gloomy mood hanging over the entire orphanage. Slitzerikai didn't have time to chat with any of the other cubs however, as he was led straight to the back of the building, to a small room housing communal showers, white tile lining the walls with a handful of showers on either side of the room.
