","writing":"During the hours between night and day the Angels spent time with their Demon lovers. Mikey sat in Leo’s lap by the pool of water up on the mountain platform. They just sat together, nuzzling and watching the sun set. \n\nMikey’s foot dipped into the water as Leo’s hands rubbed his thighs. There were no ripples, but Leo could see that the pool instantly got clearer. He looked down at where he was sitting and saw the dying grass. Wrapping his arms tighter around Mikey, he pulled him closer. “I wish you could purify me like you do that water,” he whispered. \n\nMikey turned his head and smiled, “Maybe I will.”\n\n“I hope so,” Leo smiled back. “But for now, I have this itch that I want you to scratch.”\n\n“Really? Where?” Mikey asked with a blank look. “Can you not reach it? I didn’t know Demons could get itchy.”\n\n“Right here,” Leo nodded and pointed to his crotch. \n\nMikey’s eyes went wide, “You’re penis is itchy?” Leo smile widened and then it hit Mikey, “Oh…, you want to have sex.”\n\n“If you insist,” Leo pulled Mikey into a deep kiss while pulling Mikey’s legs apart so that he was straddling, backwards on Leo’s lap and then he pulled Mikey’s hips back. Breaking the kiss, Mikey kept himself up by placing his hand on a nearby tree branch. He kept his calm while Leo lifted his tail and started to prep him. \n\nLooking back over his shoulder, Mikey saw the wicked look on Leo’s face. He could tell that Leo was struggling with his control and Mikey had to bite down on his hand to stifle a whimper. It wasn’t enough. Leo growled in response and forcefully continued to prep Mikey, pushing his finger in to the knuckle. \n\nWhile pumping his finger in and out of Mikey, Leo spit to add lubrication. His clawed finger scratched the inside of Mikey, but he didn’t cry out. \n\nLeo pulled his finger out then placed his hands on Mikey’s hips and lifted him up, imbedding himself in one quick thrust. Mikey rested his forehead on the hand gripping the tree while his other held onto Leo’s ankle. Managing to stifle the whimper that threatened to escape, Mikey bit on his hand.\n\nWith his hands planted firmly on Mikey’s butt, Leo leaned back in the grass as he continued to thrust upwards. Mikey was grateful of his ability to heal quickly as his body recovered from the damage caused by Leo’s rough entry. As the pain ebbed it was replaced with pleasure. The steady striking of his prostate soon had Mikey dropping down.\n\nHis penis bobbed in time with Leo’s thrusting, slapping against Leo’s leg. The burning fluid filled Mikey causing him to whimper. If I didn’t like it I wouldn’t let you do it.”\n\nLeo cupped Mikey’s face, “I don’t want to hurt you anymore.”\n\n“It’s not so much that it isn’t worth it.”\n\n“I just hope that you don’t decide that one day it is no longer worth it.”\n\nThey flew together as the sun dropped below the horizon and Leo felt a sense of peace. They were soon joined by Raph and Don and they hovered in the air, no one wanting to be the first to say goodbye. \n\nLeo looked up at Raph, “You were at the battle between the natives and the settlers, weren’t you?” Raph nodded his head, but said nothing so Leo continued. “Do you remember a Demon fighting on the side of the Angels?”\n\n“Why do you ask?” Raph raised an eye ridge.\n\n“Some of the other Demons were talking about it and it triggered some of my memories.” Leo shook his head, “I remember some parts, but not all. Your memory of that time shouldn’t have been tampered with as much. I was just wondering if you remember how the Demon died and who the Angel was that he was in love with.”\n\nRaph closed his eyes and chose his words carefully, “Apparently, even those believed to be pure evil, are capable of love. And Demons who displease the Brothers by going against their nature are cast out. From what I understand, he didn’t want to hurt anyone anymore. So he let himself die in the arms of the one he loved.”\n\nDonnie had tears in his eyes and he looked up at Raph, “I do love you.”\n\n“I know,” Raph nodded. “I love you too. We need to head back soon, Mikey,” he added with a sigh. \n\n“I know,” Mikey pouted. \n\nRaph and Mikey both suddenly looked down. “Something’s happening,” Raph mumbled. “We’re being summoned.”\n\nWithout another word the two Angles dove towards the ground and the two Demons followed after. \n\nThey were met by smoke on the way down, but it didn’t faze them. The temple was on fire and the monk was running from assailants. “Who would attack a monk?” Mikey asked. \n\n“People controlled by Devils,” Raph pointed. “Let’s get them off.”\n\nMikey went straight to Miyamoto’s Guardian and lent her his strength while Raph attacked the Devils. There were several Mortals attacking the monk and his home, but there were also several others rushing over to help. The area was flooded with Angels, Demon and Devils, and the life of the monk was held in the balance. \n\nLeo joined the fight, landing next to Mikey and protecting him from the other Demons. Raph smiled, watching Leo fight his own kind. He looked around for Donnie and found him sill in the air, high above the fighting. \n\nTheir eyes met for a moment before Donnie flew away towards the cave. Raph’s heart sank, but he continued to fight. \n\n“I knew you would be a traitor,” the fox lunged at Leo. He turned to face her and met her head on. She bared her teeth, “Where’s your friend?”\n\nLeo glanced around, “Not here.”\n\n“He is a bigger coward than I thought,” the human joined the fight. “Doesn’t matter, we’ll get him soon enough. It’s just a matter of time.”\n\n“Today, you and the rabbit monk will die,” the fox sneered. “The masters have wanted that rodent dead for years. He’s interfering with their plans.”\n\n“Well, he’s not dying today,” Raph slammed into the human. They flew back, exchanging punches as they hit the ground. \n\nLeo smiled up at the fox, “Your life as a Demon’s gonna be short.”\n\n“I was born for this day,” she purred. “The brothers are behind me, I will not fail.”\n\n“I will tear out your throat,” Leo growled. \n\n“The brothers are displeased with you,” she smiled at him. “I can already tell you are getting weaker.” She slashed at him with her claws, leaving deep cuts across his plastron that oozed with his black blood. He recovered quickly and struck her across the jaw. \n\n“Not so weak that I can’t take you out.”\n\nLeo managed to glance at Raph in time to see him slash his sword across the human Demon’s chest. She cried out, but didn’t falter. His attention was brought back to his own fight when the fox took a chunk out of his upper arm.\n\nLeo bared his teeth and lunged at the fox. He managed to curl around her and latch onto her neck. She clawed at him, leaving deep gashes in his flesh but he held firm. \n\nWhen he managed to pull off of her, he took a large chunk of her neck with him. He spat it out, “I had a part in your creation, and now I am going to end it.” He continued his on slot, tearing in to her.\n\nWeakened like she was, she was an easy target for a Battle Angel to take out. The large alligator Angel pulled out a bottle and captured the purple essence that escaped the dying Demon. He then turned and stared at Leo for a moment, deciding whether or not to take him out too. \n\n“He’s my friend,” Mikey shouted out from next to the monk. “Please L.H. don’t hurt him.”\n\nThe Battle Angel nodded, “So there is another one.” He took to the air, leaving Leo to continue to fight. \n\nLeo turned it the direction of Raph and the human Demon, just as he over powered her, capturing her essence. Raph then rushed to Leo’s side, “How you holding up?”\n\n“She did a lot of damage,” he admitted. “And I feel so weak that I don’t think I can fly.”\n\nRaph nodded, “Just stay with us until this is over.”\n\nIn the end the Angels over powered the Demons and Devils. The fire was extinguished and the assailants were captured. Mikey stayed with the monk until he was surrounded by helpful Mortals. He then rushed back to Leo in time to catch him as the Demon fell. \n\nRaph couldn’t hold back the tears as he took in the scene that played out, similar to his own death. Leo’s body expelled the black water and many of the other Angels surrounded them, creating a protective circle. Mikey’s eyes were filled with tears as he cradled Leo in his lap, “I’ll fly you down to the pool.”\n\nLeo shook his head, “I don’t want it.”\n\n“But, you’re dying,” Mikey pleaded. \n\n“I’m sorry Mikey,” Leo smiled up at him. “I don’t want to be a Demon. And besides that, the Brothers are rejecting me.” He wiped a tear from Mikey’s cheek, “Maybe Yoshi will erase me from your memory again so you won’t have to suffer.”\n\n“I don’t wanna forget you,” Mikey leaned into Leo, pulling him closer. When Leo’s hand fell from Mikey’s cheek, the little Cherub let out a cry of pain that cut into Raph. “He doesn’t deserve this,” he sobbed. His crying suddenly stopped as he looked up at the clouds, “Splinter is calling me.” He lifted Leo’s body and took to the sky, carrying the Leo up to heaven. \n\n“Remind you of something?” Leatherhead asked, walking up to Raph. \n\nIt took Raph a second to realize what Leatherhead was talking about. “You remember?” he looked at his friend. “All of it?”\n\nLeatherhead shrugged, “This has dredged up those memories, though I can’t remember the Angel you died for. I do remember that I was his Battle Angel and that I gladly stepped aside so that you two could be together.” It was then that Raph realized that several Angels were looking at him, but he didn’t care. \n\n“I remember and I thank you for that. He is still precious to me.” \n\nLeatherhead looked down at Raph, “What happened to him?”\n\nHe took to the sky to follow after Mikey. “If you think about it, you will remember,” he called back over his shoulder. “I have a feeling that this forgetfulness was only temporary. At least until fates were decided.”\n\nWhen he got into Heaven, Splinter was comforting a crying Mikey and whispering soothing words. Raph followed as Splinter led Mikey to where Angels were born and instructed Mikey to lay Leo’s body down on a cloud. Almost instantly there was a change in Leo. The blue markings on his face were the first to fade, and then his fingers, toes and tail smoothed out. He softened before their eyes and his wounds healed, but the scars remained. \n\nThe on the dawn of the third day, Leo opened his eyes. He took a deep breath as he took in his surroundings. When his gaze fell on Mikey and a big smile spread across his face. “Hi,” he whispered, “my sweet, little Cherub.”\n\nMikey squealed in delight, running over to wrap his arms around Leo the second he sat up. “I’ve got you back.”\n\n“I’ll follow the rules this time, I promise,” Leo returned the embrace. “I learned my lesson.” He sat up and looked around, “Where’s Donnie?”\n\nRaph looked down, “He fled, during the fight.”\n\n“I’m sorry, Raph.” Leo sighed. \n\n“I’m not giving up on him,” Raph looked up. “I will never give up on him.” He could feel his memories of Donnie fading and he glared at Splinter, “I won’t let you take my memories of him again. He failed this time, but he could still succeed.” \n\nSplinter placed his hand on Raph’s shoulder, “This is what Donatello wants.”\n\n“No!” His feet left the cloud and he hovered for a moment before taking off. “I would spend the rest of existence in Hell just to be with him.” \n\nRaph flew through the clouds and down toward the cave. He found Donnie curled up and praying, in a dark nook near the mouth of the cave. He looked up at Raph, “Leo’s an Angel again, isn’t he.”\n\nRaph nodded, “You know what you have to do?”\n\n“I remember,” Donnie cried. “I’m sorry, but I can’t do it. I can’t just…, I’m too scared.”\n\n“That’s okay,” Raph reached out for Donnie. “I don’t care that you’re a Demon. I love you.”\n\n“I don’t deserve you,” Donnie shook his head. “I can never be what you want me to be.”\n\n“I just want you to love me.”\n\n“I do love you.”\n\n“Then that’s enough,” Raph smiled, coaxing Donnie out of the nook. “That’s all I care about.”\n\n“You deserve better,” Donnie pulled away. “Go back up to Heaven and have Yoshi erase me from your memory, for good this time. Please. I can’t stand to see the pain in your eyes anymore.”\n\n“No,” Raph insisted. “I will not lose you.”\n\n“You already have,” Donnie turned and went deeper into the cave. He stopped for a moment and turned around, “I just want you to be happy. Even if Yoshi leaves me to remember all that I have lost, I would gladly suffer it knowing that I can’t hurt you anymore.” He turned back around to leave but before he could take a step, he doubled over in pain. “What’s happening?”\n\nRaph rushed to his side, “The brothers are rejecting you.”\n\n“Why?” Donnie’s eyes widened in fear, “I don’t wanna die.” He ran down the path to the black pool and got down on his hands and knees to take a drink, but the waters receded. “No!” he scurried forward but the waters continued to pull away. \n\nDemons and Devils alike started to gather and Raph rushed down to grab Donnie, “We have to get out of here.”\n\n“I don’t wanna die,” Donnie pulled away.\n\n“They’re gonna eat you,” Raph warned, causing Donnie to jump into his arms. He held Donnie tight and flew them up to the surface. Raph flew back up into Heaven and his heart was full of hope. “You did it.”\n\nDonnie held on to Raph, “I’m scared.”\n\n“I swear to you,” Raph kissed him. “I will never leave you.” He rushed past other angels and landed next to Splinter, “The Brothers are rejecting him.”\n\nSplinter looked down at Donnie, “I can see that.”\n\n“He can be and Angel again,” Raph panted. “He did it.”\n\nSplinter shook his head, “He has not earned it.”\n\n“But, he was being selfless,” Raph argued. \n\nPanic filled Donnie, “I don’t want to die.” He pulled Raph down and bit into his neck. \n\nRaph flinched but didn’t pull away, “Donnie, please.”\n\n“I know he was being selfless in his actions. He was willing to suffer so that you could find happiness with another.” Splinter smiled sadly, “But that is not enough.”\n\n“What?” Raph felt his heart sink. Donnie still held on to him, trying to sustain his life with Raph’s blood.\n\n“He lacks courage and faith,” Splinter explained. “He has not earned a place among the Angels. Even now he hurts you so that he can survive a little longer.”\n\nDonnie cried, still attached and Raph held him closer, “So then… when he dies, I can take his soul in to Nirvana? At least there I can still visit with him.”\n\nSplinter shook his head, “He has not earned that either.”\n\nRaph stifled a sob, “Then what is left?”\n\n“Reincarnation into the Mortal realm, just like the other Demon and Devil spirits captured the other day,” Splinter informed him. “Until the day he earns his place elsewhere, he will continue to be reborn.”\n\n“Can I go with him,” he already knew the answer, but he had to ask.\n\n“No,” Splinter placed a hand on Raph’s shoulder. “But Yoshi will let you be his Guardian in life.”\n\nRaph nodded, “I will help him return to us.”\n\n“It will not be easy. His soul is damaged.”\n\n“I understand.”\n\nLeo and Mikey sat with Raph as Donnie died, offering their support. He could feel Donnie weaken in his arms and he was able to pull him off of his neck. “I’m sorry,” Donnie rasped out.\n\n“I will stay with you as long as it takes,” Raph sobbed.\n\nUnlike Leo, when Donnie died, his body dissipated, leaving just the purple essence of his soul. Raph held it cupped in his hands and waited for his instructions from Splinter. \n\nWhen the orders came in, Leo and Mikey went with him as he flew down to an expectant mother. There were several other Angels standing around with souls in their hands, waiting for the right moment. The expectant mother was a turtle so she had a clutch of nine forming in her womb. \n\nThe nine, soon to be Guardians, held the souls of her children. “I will never give up on you,” Raph swore to the ball of purple light in his hands. \n\n“We’ll help whenever we can,” Mikey said, placing a hand on Raph shoulder. \n\nThe time was close. The babies developed inside the eggs, still inside their mother, with every passing second. When the moment came where their newly formed hearts beat for the first time, the Angels moved forward, placing their charges into the tiny lives inside. \n\nThere was nothing left to do, but wait. \n\n\n**\n\n\nDonatello took a sip of his coffee. He was running late to work, again. None of his human friends could really grasp the difficulty of a newly hatched clutch. Some of his mammalian friends were prone to have litters, and tended to be a little more sympathetic but unfortunately his boss was a human. \n\nHis wife kissed him goodbye then he turned to say goodbye to her three other chosen mates before he rushed out the door. He groaned as the elevator took its time and he looked at his watch. He had a feeling that he was gonna have to run to make it to work before his boss got there. It wasn’t that there was a chance of being fired; he just didn’t want to get yelled at again. \n\nWhen he finally got out of the building he started to the subway entrance. Movement caught his eye and he turned to look. A child, on the other side of the road, ran into the street after a ball. His mother was occupied, talking to a friend and didn’t notice in time to stop him. \n\nWithout a second thought, Donnie ran into the street. He prayed for the strength to save the child as adrenalin surged through his body. Everything seemed to move in slow motion. He heard the screech of the tires as it blended with the scream of the mother. He managed to shove the child into his mother’s waiting arms.\n\n\n**\n\n\nIt took five lifetimes over the span of two hundred years, but Donnie finally was willing to give his life for another. Fortunately it didn’t come to that. Though he was hurt pretty bad he survived and he was able to live out the rest of his natural life, dying of a heart attack at eighty seven surrounded by his loving family. \n\nAs always, Leo and Mikey were there to help Raph guide Donnie up to Heaven. Splinter met them with a smile, “Yoshi approves.”\n\nHe guided them to where Angels are born and Raph placed Donnie’s soul on the cloud. His soul didn’t stay on top of the cloud, but sank into it. Raph sat next to the spot for days, waiting for the process to be complete. \n\nLeo sat across from him, “Do you think he will remember?”\n\n“It doesn’t matter. I’ll have him back.”\n\nAfter seven days, Donnie emerged from the cloud and looked around. His eyes rested on Raph and a huge grin spread across his beak, “Raphie.”\n\nTears of joy spread down Raph’s cheeks, “He let you remember.”\n\n“How else would I learn my lesson,” Donnie giggled. They pressed their foreheads together and Donnie rubbed the back of Raph’s head, “Thank you, for not giving up on me.”\n\n“I told you that I wouldn’t,” Raph smiled. \n\n“Donnie!” Mikey squealed in delight as he slammed into his friend. “I’m glad to have you back.” The two Cherubs hugged and laughed as they flew through the sky in an impromptu game of tag. \n\nLeo placed a hand on Raph’s shoulder, “Did you ever discover who the other Angel created was?”\n\nRaph shook his head, “I never had time to look since I’ve been so occupied with Donnie.”\n\n“How would you even know?”\n\nRaph looked at Leo, “Scars.” He pointed to his plastron then to Leo’s, “We keep our scars. Trax has scars, but I haven’t been able to look at the others.”\n\nLeo looked down in thought, “A scar?” He looked back up at Raph, “The only other Angel with a scar of any kind is Splinter, he’s missing his ear.”\n\nThe both lifted up and rushed to Splinter’s home and found the rat Angel waiting for them. Raph could see that he was missing his right ear. \n\n“You have figured it out,” he smiled up at them.\n\n“How?” Raph landed. “You’re the oldest Angel.”\n\nSplinter nodded, “In the beginning Yoshi worked with the Brothers to create the world, but they could not agree on how to run things. The Brothers got bitter and used the immortal souls of the dead to birth an army to stand against Yoshi. But I chose to stand with him and protected the lives of the Mortals. Saki was the one to cut off my ear as a punishment for my betrayal. I was then cast out and left to die, my soul was promised to the other Demons to eat. It was then that Yoshi saved me and created his first Angel from my rejected Demon soul. The birth of other Angels followed and there was balance in the world again. Every so often the Brothers would strike out in an attempt to destroy the Mortals, but Yoshi’s Angles were always there to stop them.”\n\n“And Angles are not to do harm to Mortals,” Leo nodded. “Even the ones, who are evil, have their place.”\n\n“Correct,” Splinter nodded. “It was a young soul, Leonardo and it was confused. It needed the time to learn. All souls, even those that are currently Demons, have a chance at redemption.”\n\n“I will never take another Mortal life,” Leo nodded. \n\n“Go back to your Cherubs,” Splinter dismissed them. “They are wondering what has happened to you.”\n\nLeo and Raph flew back to find their Cherubs waiting for them. Raph glanced sideways at Leo as they flew, “Do you and Mikey still… ah… have sex?”\n\nA smile turned up the edges of Leo’s mouth, “It’s not forbidden.”\n\nRaph ran his bottom lip through his teeth, “I wonder if Donnie will still want to.”\n\n“Only one way to find out,” Leo’s smile widened opening his arms to Mikey. \n\n“Plan on it,” Raph laughed as Donnie flew into his arms.\n\nEND","writing_bbcode_parsed":"During the hours between night and day the Angels spent time with their Demon lovers. “Right here,” Leo nodded and pointed to his crotch.

Mikey’s eyes went wide, “You’re penis is itchy?” Leo smile widened and then it hit Mikey, “Oh…, you want to have sex.”

“If you insist,” Leo pulled Mikey into a deep kiss while pulling Mikey’s legs apart so that he was straddling, backwards on Leo’s lap and then he pulled Mikey’s hips back. Breaking the kiss, Mikey kept himself up by placing his hand on a nearby tree branch. He kept his calm while Leo lifted his tail and started to prep him.

Looking back over his shoulder, Mikey saw the wicked look on Leo’s face. He could tell that Leo was struggling with his control and Mikey had to bite down on his hand to stifle a whimper. It wasn’t enough. Leo growled in response and forcefully continued to prep Mikey, pushing his finger in to the knuckle.

While pumping his finger in and out of Mikey, Leo spit to add lubrication. His clawed finger scratched the inside of Mikey, but he didn’t cry out.

Leo pulled his finger out then placed his hands on Mikey’s hips and lifted him up, imbedding himself in one quick thrust. Mikey rested his forehead on the hand gripping the tree while his other held onto Leo’s ankle. Managing to stifle the whimper that threatened to escape, Mikey bit on his hand.

Mikey was grateful of his ability to heal quickly as his body recovered from the damage caused by Leo’s rough entry. As the pain ebbed it was replaced with pleasure. “It’s not so much that it isn’t worth it.”

“I just hope that you don’t decide that one day it is no longer worth it.”

They flew together as the sun dropped below the horizon and Leo felt a sense of peace. They were soon joined by Raph and Don and they hovered in the air, no one wanting to be the first to say goodbye.

Leo looked up at Raph, “You were at the battle between the natives and the settlers, weren’t you?” Raph nodded his head, but said nothing so Leo continued. “Do you remember a Demon fighting on the side of the Angels?”

“Why do you ask?” Raph raised an eye ridge.

“Some of the other Demons were talking about it and it triggered some of my memories.” Leo shook his head, “I remember some parts, but not all. Your memory of that time shouldn’t have been tampered with as much. I was just wondering if you remember how the Demon died and who the Angel was that he was in love with.”

Raph closed his eyes and chose his words carefully, “Apparently, even those believed to be pure evil, are capable of love. And Demons who displease the Brothers by going against their nature are cast out. From what I understand, he didn’t want to hurt anyone anymore. So he let himself die in the arms of the one he loved.”

Donnie had tears in his eyes and he looked up at Raph, “I do love you.”

“I know,” Raph nodded. “I love you too. We need to head back soon, Mikey,” he added with a sigh.

“I know,” Mikey pouted.

Raph and Mikey both suddenly looked down. “Something’s happening,” Raph mumbled. “We’re being summoned.”

Without another word the two Angles dove towards the ground and the two Demons followed after.

They were met by smoke on the way down, but it didn’t faze them. The temple was on fire and the monk was running from assailants. “Who would attack a monk?” Mikey asked.

“People controlled by Devils,” Raph pointed. “Let’s get them off.”

Mikey went straight to Miyamoto’s Guardian and lent her his strength while Raph attacked the Devils. There were several Mortals attacking the monk and his home, but there were also several others rushing over to help. The area was flooded with Angels, Demon and Devils, and the life of the monk was held in the balance.

Leo joined the fight, landing next to Mikey and protecting him from the other Demons. Raph smiled, watching Leo fight his own kind. He looked around for Donnie and found him sill in the air, high above the fighting.

Their eyes met for a moment before Donnie flew away towards the cave. Raph’s heart sank, but he continued to fight.

“I knew you would be a traitor,” the fox lunged at Leo. He turned to face her and met her head on. She bared her teeth, “Where’s your friend?”

Leo glanced around, “Not here.”

“He is a bigger coward than I thought,” the human joined the fight. “Doesn’t matter, we’ll get him soon enough. It’s just a matter of time.”

“Today, you and the rabbit monk will die,” the fox sneered. “The masters have wanted that rodent dead for years. He’s interfering with their plans.”

“Well, he’s not dying today,” Raph slammed into the human. They flew back, exchanging punches as they hit the ground.

Leo smiled up at the fox, “Your life as a Demon’s gonna be short.”

“I was born for this day,” she purred. “The brothers are behind me, I will not fail.”

“I will tear out your throat,” Leo growled.

“The brothers are displeased with you,” she smiled at him. “I can already tell you are getting weaker.” She slashed at him with her claws, leaving deep cuts across his plastron that oozed with his black blood. He recovered quickly and struck her across the jaw.

“Not so weak that I can’t take you out.”

Leo managed to glance at Raph in time to see him slash his sword across the human Demon’s chest. She cried out, but didn’t falter. His attention was brought back to his own fight when the fox took a chunk out of his upper arm.

Leo bared his teeth and lunged at the fox. He managed to curl around her and latch onto her neck. She clawed at him, leaving deep gashes in his flesh but he held firm.

When he managed to pull off of her, he took a large chunk of her neck with him. He spat it out, “I had a part in your creation, and now I am going to end it.” He continued his on slot, tearing in to her.

Weakened like she was, she was an easy target for a Battle Angel to take out. The large alligator Angel pulled out a bottle and captured the purple essence that escaped the dying Demon. He then turned and stared at Leo for a moment, deciding whether or not to take him out too.

“He’s my friend,” Mikey shouted out from next to the monk. “Please L.H. don’t hurt him.”

The Battle Angel nodded, “So there is another one.” He took to the air, leaving Leo to continue to fight.

Leo turned it the direction of Raph and the human Demon, just as he over powered her, capturing her essence. Raph then rushed to Leo’s side, “How you holding up?”

“She did a lot of damage,” he admitted. “And I feel so weak that I don’t think I can fly.”

Raph nodded, “Just stay with us until this is over.”

In the end the Angels over powered the Demons and Devils. The fire was extinguished and the assailants were captured. Mikey stayed with the monk until he was surrounded by helpful Mortals. He then rushed back to Leo in time to catch him as the Demon fell.

Raph couldn’t hold back the tears as he took in the scene that played out, similar to his own death. Leo’s body expelled the black water and many of the other Angels surrounded them, creating a protective circle. Mikey’s eyes were filled with tears as he cradled Leo in his lap, “I’ll fly you down to the pool.”

Leo shook his head, “I don’t want it.”

“But, you’re dying,” Mikey pleaded.

“I’m sorry Mikey,” Leo smiled up at him. “I don’t want to be a Demon. And besides that, the Brothers are rejecting me.” He wiped a tear from Mikey’s cheek, “Maybe Yoshi will erase me from your memory again so you won’t have to suffer.”

“I don’t wanna forget you,” Mikey leaned into Leo, pulling him closer. When Leo’s hand fell from Mikey’s cheek, the little Cherub let out a cry of pain that cut into Raph. “He doesn’t deserve this,” he sobbed. His crying suddenly stopped as he looked up at the clouds, “Splinter is calling me.” He lifted Leo’s body and took to the sky, carrying the Leo up to heaven.

“Remind you of something?” Leatherhead asked, walking up to Raph.

It took Raph a second to realize what Leatherhead was talking about. “You remember?” he looked at his friend. “All of it?”

Leatherhead shrugged, “This has dredged up those memories, though I can’t remember the Angel you died for. I do remember that I was his Battle Angel and that I gladly stepped aside so that you two could be together.” It was then that Raph realized that several Angels were looking at him, but he didn’t care.

“I remember and I thank you for that. He is still precious to me.”

Leatherhead looked down at Raph, “What happened to him?”

He took to the sky to follow after Mikey. “If you think about it, you will remember,” he called back over his shoulder. “I have a feeling that this forgetfulness was only temporary. At least until fates were decided.”

When he got into Heaven, Splinter was comforting a crying Mikey and whispering soothing words. Raph followed as Splinter led Mikey to where Angels were born and instructed Mikey to lay Leo’s body down on a cloud. Almost instantly there was a change in Leo. The blue markings on his face were the first to fade, and then his fingers, toes and tail smoothed out. He softened before their eyes and his wounds healed, but the scars remained.

The on the dawn of the third day, Leo opened his eyes. He took a deep breath as he took in his surroundings. When his gaze fell on Mikey and a big smile spread across his face. “Hi,” he whispered, “my sweet, little Cherub.”

Mikey squealed in delight, running over to wrap his arms around Leo the second he sat up. “I’ve got you back.”

“I’ll follow the rules this time, I promise,” Leo returned the embrace. “I learned my lesson.” He sat up and looked around, “Where’s Donnie?”

Raph looked down, “He fled, during the fight.”

“I’m sorry, Raph.” Leo sighed.

“I’m not giving up on him,” Raph looked up. “I will never give up on him.” He could feel his memories of Donnie fading and he glared at Splinter, “I won’t let you take my memories of him again. He failed this time, but he could still succeed.”

Splinter placed his hand on Raph’s shoulder, “This is what Donatello wants.”

“No!” His feet left the cloud and he hovered for a moment before taking off. “I would spend the rest of existence in Hell just to be with him.”

Raph flew through the clouds and down toward the cave. He found Donnie curled up and praying, in a dark nook near the mouth of the cave. He looked up at Raph, “Leo’s an Angel again, isn’t he.”

Raph nodded, “You know what you have to do?”

“I remember,” Donnie cried. “I’m sorry, but I can’t do it. I can’t just…, I’m too scared.”

“That’s okay,” Raph reached out for Donnie. “I don’t care that you’re a Demon. I love you.”

“I don’t deserve you,” Donnie shook his head. “I can never be what you want me to be.”

“I just want you to love me.”

“I do love you.”

“Then that’s enough,” Raph smiled, coaxing Donnie out of the nook. “That’s all I care about.”

“You deserve better,” Donnie pulled away. “Go back up to Heaven and have Yoshi erase me from your memory, for good this time. Please. I can’t stand to see the pain in your eyes anymore.”

“No,” Raph insisted. “I will not lose you.”

“You already have,” Donnie turned and went deeper into the cave. He stopped for a moment and turned around, “I just want you to be happy. Even if Yoshi leaves me to remember all that I have lost, I would gladly suffer it knowing that I can’t hurt you anymore.” He turned back around to leave but before he could take a step, he doubled over in pain. “What’s happening?”

Raph rushed to his side, “The brothers are rejecting you.”

“Why?” Donnie’s eyes widened in fear, “I don’t wanna die.” He ran down the path to the black pool and got down on his hands and knees to take a drink, but the waters receded. “No!” he scurried forward but the waters continued to pull away.

Demons and Devils alike started to gather and Raph rushed down to grab Donnie, “We have to get out of here.”

“I don’t wanna die,” Donnie pulled away.

“They’re gonna eat you,” Raph warned, causing Donnie to jump into his arms. He held Donnie tight and flew them up to the surface.  Raph flew back up into Heaven and his heart was full of hope. “You did it.”

Donnie held on to Raph, “I’m scared.”

“I swear to you,” Raph kissed him. “I will never leave you.” He rushed past other angels and landed next to Splinter, “The Brothers are rejecting him.”

Splinter looked down at Donnie, “I can see that.”

“He can be and Angel again,” Raph panted. “He did it.”

Splinter shook his head, “He has not earned it.”

“But, he was being selfless,” Raph argued.

Panic filled Donnie, “I don’t want to die.” He pulled Raph down and bit into his neck.

Raph flinched but didn’t pull away, “Donnie, please.”

“I know he was being selfless in his actions. He was willing to suffer so that you could find happiness with another.” Splinter smiled sadly, “But that is not enough.”

“What?” Raph felt his heart sink. Donnie still held on to him, trying to sustain his life with Raph’s blood.

“He lacks courage and faith,” Splinter explained.  “He has not earned a place among the Angels. Even now he hurts you so that he can survive a little longer.”

Donnie cried, still attached and Raph held him closer, “So then… when he dies, I can take his soul in to Nirvana? At least there I can still visit with him.”

Splinter shook his head, “He has not earned that either.”

Raph stifled a sob, “Then what is left?”

“Reincarnation into the Mortal realm, just like the other Demon and Devil spirits captured the other day,” Splinter informed him. “Until the day he earns his place elsewhere, he will continue to be reborn.”

“Can I go with him,” he already knew the answer, but he had to ask.

“No,” Splinter placed a hand on Raph’s shoulder. “But Yoshi will let you be his Guardian in life.”

Raph nodded, “I will help him return to us.”

“It will not be easy. His soul is damaged.”

“I understand.”

Leo and Mikey sat with Raph as Donnie died, offering their support. He could feel Donnie weaken in his arms and he was able to pull him off of his neck. “I’m sorry,” Donnie rasped out.

“I will stay with you as long as it takes,” Raph sobbed.

Unlike Leo, when Donnie died, his body dissipated, leaving just the purple essence of his soul. Raph held it cupped in his hands and waited for his instructions from Splinter.

When the orders came in, Leo and Mikey went with him as he flew down to an expectant mother. There were several other Angels standing around with souls in their hands, waiting for the right moment. The expectant mother was a turtle so she had a clutch of nine forming in her womb.

The nine, soon to be Guardians, held the souls of her children. “I will never give up on you,” Raph swore to the ball of purple light in his hands.

“We’ll help whenever we can,” Mikey said, placing a hand on Raph shoulder.

The time was close. The babies developed inside the eggs, still inside their mother, with every passing second. When the moment came where their newly formed hearts beat for the first time, the Angels moved forward, placing their charges into the tiny lives inside.

There was nothing left to do, but wait.

Donatello took a sip of his coffee. He was running late to work, again. None of his human friends could really grasp the difficulty of a newly hatched clutch. Some of his mammalian friends were prone to have litters, and tended to be a little more sympathetic but unfortunately his boss was a human.

His wife kissed him goodbye then he turned to say goodbye to her three other chosen mates before he rushed out the door. He groaned as the elevator took its time and he looked at his watch. He had a feeling that he was gonna have to run to make it to work before his boss got there. It wasn’t that there was a chance of being fired; he just didn’t want to get yelled at again.  

When he finally got out of the building he started to the subway entrance. Movement caught his eye and he turned to look. A child, on the other side of the road, ran into the street after a ball. His mother was occupied, talking to a friend and didn’t notice in time to stop him.

Without a second thought, Donnie ran into the street. He prayed for the strength to save the child as adrenalin surged through his body. Everything seemed to move in slow motion. He heard the screech of the tires as it blended with the scream of the mother. He managed to shove the child into his mother’s waiting arms.

It took five lifetimes over the span of two hundred years, but Donnie finally was willing to give his life for another. Fortunately it didn’t come to that. Though he was hurt pretty bad he survived and he was able to live out the rest of his natural life, dying of a heart attack at eighty seven surrounded by his loving family.

As always, Leo and Mikey were there to help Raph guide Donnie up to Heaven. Splinter met them with a smile, “Yoshi approves.”

He guided them to where Angels are born and Raph placed Donnie’s soul on the cloud. His soul didn’t stay on top of the cloud, but sank into it. Raph sat next to the spot for days, waiting for the process to be complete.

Leo sat across from him, “Do you think he will remember?”

“It doesn’t matter. I’ll have him back.”

After seven days, Donnie emerged from the cloud and looked around. His eyes rested on Raph and a huge grin spread across his beak, “Raphie.”

Tears of joy spread down Raph’s cheeks, “He let you remember.”

“How else would I learn my lesson,” Donnie giggled. They pressed their foreheads together and Donnie rubbed the back of Raph’s head, “Thank you, for not giving up on me.”
