","writing":"Donatello flew after the cat woman who was being chased by a large human man through the forest. The man was a native and was being influenced by a Devil. “She’s trying to take your land,” the Devil goaded him. \n\nDonnie guided the woman through the forest, making sure she stayed on her feet and didn’t get turned around. His Battle Angle was occupied with the battle between the Mortals and was unable to follow Donnie. \n\nAll he had to do was get her to the settlement where she would be safe. They had a protective wall up that the natives could not get though. \n\nA Demon came out of nowhere and tripped her up. She fell to the ground, splayed out in the mud and the man was on her in a second. All Donnie could do at this point was to try to keep her calm; he wasn’t about to leave her side. \n\nThe Demon, however, had other plans. His large hand shot up and grabbed Donatello, reminding the little Cherub that Demons, unlike Devils, had the ability to hurt him. Fear filled him as he was pinned to the ground. \n\n“If you’re still alive when I’m done,” the Demon growled, “I throw you into the pool.”\n\nDonnie felt the Demon’s hands on his tail and he started to panic as the woman screamed next to him. The tears that fell from his eyes were quickly lapped up by the Demon’s long tongue. \n\n“Hun!” was all the warning the Demon got before Raphael slammed into him. The two Demons fought while Donnie regained his composure and went back to the woman. He was determined to help her as much as he could. \n\n“You traitorous whelp,” Hun growled. “How dare you protect an Angel.”\n\n“You will not touch him,” Raph roared back. \n\nA Battle Angel landed near the fighting and ran to Donnie’s side, “Are you alright?” \n\nDonnie looked up at his protector, “Yeah I’m fine, Leatherhead. Stop the Devil.”\n\nThe large alligator Angel pulled the Devil off the Mortal man, severing its control over him. It struggled in his grip and managed to break free. “Nothing you can do now,” it laughed as it dove into the ground. “Devil’s taint is still on him.”\n\nThe Devil was right. The Guardian on the human’s shoulder was sickened by the taint and there was no time to heal it before the man raped the woman. “At least maybe he won’t kill her now,” Donnie sighed and went back to soothing the woman. \n\nLeatherhead switched his attention to the two Demons, ready to attack, but Hun broke free of Raph and disappeared under ground. “Traitor,” he yelled as he disappeared under ground. \n\nLeatherhead stood, sword in hand, staring at Raph, “What kind of mood are you in?”\n\n“Pissed,” Raph growled. “How could you leave him unprotected like that?”\n\n“I had to fight off several other Devils and Demons,” Leatherhead snapped back. “Donnie flew off to protect the woman before I could stop him.”\n\nThey both looked over at the little Cherub and the struggling cat woman under the man. He human Mortal was still struggling to get them both undressed while pinning the woman down. “There’s nothing you can do?” Raph huffed. \n\nLeatherhead shook his head, “The taint is deep in this man.”\n\nDonnie sat pleading with the man to have a change of heart, trying his best to heal the sickened Guardian but he had been under the influence of the Devil for too long. \n\nRaph walked over, “You may not be able to touch this man, but I can.” He reached down through the man’s back, just below the left shoulder blade. The man staggered, clutching his chest. The woman sat in shock for only a moment before getting up and running off in the direction of the settlement. \n\n“Don’t kill him,” Donnie pleaded. \n\nRaph looked at him in surprise, “He was going to rape that woman, yet you want me to show him mercy?”\n\nDonnie nodded, “All life is precious, even his. Now that the Devil is gone he can be healed.”\n\nRaph looked into Donnie’s pleading eyes and pulled his hand out of the man’s back. The man gasped, falling to the ground. “Alright,” Raph nodded. “For you.”\n\nDonnie smiled, “I knew there was good in you.”\n\nRaph smiled, “Well if there is, you put it there.”\n\n“We need to get back to work,” Leatherhead interrupted. “There are more Devils and Demons out there and Mortals who need protecting.”\n\n“Okay,” Donnie nodded then turned to Raph. “I’ll see you later. Thank you.”\n\nThe two Angels flew off, back in the direction of the conflict. Raph stood, watching them go and an overwhelming desire to keep Donnie safe came over him. He ran after them, stopping only when he got to the battle ground. \n\nSettlers fought the natives, both sides being driven by Demons, Devils and Angles alike. Some Mortals showed heartless cruelty while others showed mercy. The Battle Angels were fighting the Demons and Devils, trying to keep their Cherubs protected while they worked their miracles. \n\nRaph saw Donnie lending power to a Guardian, while Leatherhead fought the Demon trying to do him harm. Raph sprang into action and was at Donnie’s side in a heartbeat. A flash of fear in Leatherhead’s eyes, told Raph that the Battle Angel expected him to attack. But the fear was quickly replaced with relief when Raph pulled a Devil off of a Mortal. \n\nRaph fought his own kind and tripped Mortals up to keep them from harming others. It was difficult using his powers of bringing harm as a means to protect others and it was weakening him to do so. \n\nBut that didn’t stop him. He stayed at Donnie’s side and aided him in his fight. After several hours, the Demons and Devils were beaten off and the Mortals stopped fighting. \n\nSome Cherubs set about encouraging the leaders on both sides of the conflict to start peace talks while others aided the injured. They went around cleaning the dark taint from the area as fast as they could, in hopes of preventing more conflict. \n\nRaph fell to the ground, winded from the fight. He could feel the life force draining from him as the black water seeped from his body. If he went down to the pool now, he would be overwhelmed by the Demons and Devils he had just fought. He was too weak and they would kill him before he had the chance to replenish his strength. But at the same time, he really had no desire to. He knew the pool was the source of his demonic desires, and he didn’t want to feel that way again.\n\nDonnie cradled Raph’s head in his lap, “I am so proud of you.”\n\n“For you,” Raph breathed. “I did it for you.”\n\n“I love you too,” Donnie smiled. \n\nRaph brought his hand up and caressed Donnie’s cheek, “Don’t let the others eat me.”\n\n“I won’t,” Donnie agreed. “And I won’t leave you.”\n\nLeatherhead landed next to Donnie, “I’ll help you keep him safe.”\n\nOther Angles were soon surrounding them, offering their protection and comfort. “I honestly didn’t think you were capable of such a feat,” Leonardo said, emerging from the group and crossing his arms over his plastron. “It seems that I was wrong about you.” He looked up at Donnie, “You were right.”\n\n“Everyone can love,” Donnie agreed. “Even creatures believed to be pure evil.” He nuzzled Raph neck, “I will miss your touch.”\n\n“I just wish I had been more gentle with it,” Raph nuzzled him back. “I’m sorry for all the pain that I caused you.”\n\n“Being with you was worth it,” Donnie cried. \n\nFor the first time since his birth as a Demon, Raph felt at peace. He looked up at Donnie as he felt himself slip away. He wanted the Cherub’s sweet face to be the last thing he would ever see. \n\n\n**\n\n“Splinter!” Raphael yelled as he flew towards his teacher’s home. Splinter emerged as Raph landed. “I remember everything,” Raph stated. “I know how I did it. I need to know how the other two managed.”\n\n“Why?” Splinter asked. \n\nRaph took a deep breath, “I know I couldn’t have done it without Donnie’s love. I just need to know if that’s the key. You said that there were two others. How did they do it?”\n\n“I cannot tell you,” Splinter answered. “I am sorry, but you know that there are rules.”\n\n“Can you at least tell me who?” Raph pleaded. \n\nSplinter thought for a moment before answering, “I can tell you this. Look at what is different about yourself and find that in the others.”\n\nKnowing that was the best he was going to get, Raph bowed, “Thank you.” He then took to the air in search of Mikey. He found the Cherub soaking in the spring with other Angels. He smiled up at Raph as he approached. \n\n“Did you have a good night?” Mikey flashed him a wide grin. \n\nRaph nodded, “Yeah. You?”\n\n“Mm hmm,” he bobbed his head. “It was… ah….” He struggled to find the right words that wouldn’t tip off the other Angels.\n\n“You guys were with Demons, weren’t you?” Traximus chimed in. When Raph and Mikey looked up at him, he laughed. “You can’t hide something like that for long.”\n\nRaph looked at the large Battle Angel, “It’s permitted.”\n\nTraximus held up his hands, “What you do in your own time is up to you. I’m not going to judge.”\n\nMikey blinked a few times then shrugged, “Well since they already know. It was amazing!” He threw his hands up then dropped them back into the water, “And exhausting at the same time. He was so scary, but I could tell that he was keeping himself under control for me.”\n\n“You’re not the first Angel to love a Demon,” another Angel said. \n\n“Really?” Raph Looked at her. “Who? Are they still together?”\n\nShe thought for a moment, “I don’t remember who the Angel was. But I do remember that the Demon died protecting the Angel back when the settlers fought with the natives.”\n\n“Yeah,” Raph nodded, amazed that they really didn’t remember. “I remember that.”\n\nTraximus stood and got out of the pool, “I’m being summoned.” He looked at Raph and Mikey, “If it’s to fight your Demons, I’ll make sure to capture them as opposed to killing them.”\n\n“That would be very kind of you,” Mikey looked up at him. \n\nRaph watched Traximus and noted the scars on his body. He has known Trax for a long time and had never noticed his scars before. He looked down at the crack in his plastron, remembering that he got it when he was a Demon. Angels don’t scar and they don’t carry the wounds of their Mortal life. But, Traximus has scars, like Raph. \n\nA grin spread across his face as he realized that he had figured it out. \n\n\n**\n\n\nLeo drank from the pool, aware that he was not alone. He didn’t turn when he heard the shuffling of feet behind him. “Consorting with Angels?” one of the female Demons said. \n\n“It’s a disgrace,” the other agreed. \n\nA foot on his carapace had him turning to see the two Demons that he had a hand in creating. His memory has been altered again and though he could remember the events of the night, he could not remember their names. \n\n“Have we met?” he asked, standing as he looked them over. The human had red markings over her eyelids and the white fox had purple over hers. \n\n“No,” the human said. “We’re new. But we heard about what you did. All the other Demons are talking about it. They’re glad that you don’t know their names.”\n\n“You gonna be another betrayer?” the fox sneered. \n\nLeo looked at her, “What do you mean?”\n\n“The other Demons were talking about a Demon who fell in love with an Angel and fought against his own kind,” the human answered. “It was during a battle between the Mortals, or something like that.”\n\n“What happened to him?”\n\n“He died,” the fox said waving her hand. “A well-deserved fate for a betrayer.”\n\n“A fate best suited for your friend,” the human sneered. \n\n“You leave him alone,” Leo warned. \n\nThe fox crossed her arms over her chest, “He needs to be punished for what he did to Hun.”\n\n“Hun was trying to eat us,” Leo argued. \n\n“Then fight him yourself,” the human snapped back. “Don’t give his name to and Angel.”\n\n“And as I recall, you ended up eating him,” the fox added.\n\n“Whatever,” Leo pushed his way through them. “You’re acting like there’s honor in Hell. We do what it takes to live. He knew that the Angels were there and were fighting for us. All he had to do was leave us alone and he would still be here today.”\n\n“Coward,” the human hissed as Leo walked away.\n\nLeo found Donnie sitting at the mouth of the cave with a big grin on his face. He looked up when Leo approached, “It has been a long time since I’ve been this happy.”\n\nLeo smiled, “You had a good time with Raph then?”\n\n“Yes,” Donnie beamed. “We flew into the clouds and he let me fuck him in a storm cloud, it was great.”\n\n“Sounds like it,” Leo laughed. “I’ll have to remember that. I wanted Mikey’s first time to be a little… gentler than that.”\n\nDonnie’s smile faded, “That’s what confused me. It wasn’t Raph first time.”\n\n“It wasn’t?” Leo tilted his head. “I wonder who he’s been with then. Mikey was most definitely a virgin.” A smile spread across Leo’s face, “It was hard to keep control.”\n\nThey sat in silence for a while before Leo looked at Donnie, “Do you remember the battle between the settlers and the natives?”\n\nDonnie looked out at the rising sun, “A little. Why?”\n\n“Do you remember a Demon fighting alongside the Angels, dying that day?”\n\n“I remember… having a different Battle Angel other than Raph back then. But I can’t remember the Angel’s name.” Donnie looked up at the passing clouds, “Why did he have to fuck with our memories?”\n\nLeo shrugged, “I don’t know.”\n\nDonnie looked at Leo, “What do you remember?”\n\n“It was before Mikey was born,” Leo squinted his eyes in thought. “I didn’t have a Cherub back then.”\n\n“I do remember a Demon, but I can’t see his face.”\n\n“I was asked today if I would betray our kind like that,” Leo said flatly. “I would fight the Brothers themselves to protect Mikey.”\n\n“I’m a coward,” Donnie admitted. “I don’t know if I would fight or just run and hide.”\n\nLeo placed his hand on Donnie’s shoulder, “I remember you as an Angel. You fought to protect the Mortals, putting yourself in danger in the process.”\n\n“I don’t know if I have that in me anymore,” Donnie sobbed. \n\n“You might just surprise yourself,” Leo smiled at him. “Come on. Let’s get some rest.” The two Demons climbed into the dark spaces in the cave to settle down for the day. “Did you have a good night?” Mikey flashed him a wide grin.

Raph nodded, “Yeah. You?”

“Mm hmm,” he bobbed his head. “It was… ah….” He struggled to find the right words that wouldn’t tip off the other Angels.

“You guys were with Demons, weren’t you?” Traximus chimed in. When Raph and Mikey looked up at him, he laughed. “You can’t hide something like that for long.”

Raph looked at the large Battle Angel, “It’s permitted.”

Traximus held up his hands, “What you do in your own time is up to you. I’m not going to judge.”

Mikey blinked a few times then shrugged, “Well since they already know. It was amazing!” He threw his hands up then dropped them back into the water, “And exhausting at the same time. He was so scary, but I could tell that he was keeping himself under control for me.”

“You’re not the first Angel to love a Demon,” another Angel said.

“Really?” Raph Looked at her. “Who? Are they still together?”

She thought for a moment, “I don’t remember who the Angel was. But I do remember that the Demon died protecting the Angel back when the settlers fought with the natives.”

“Yeah,” Raph nodded, amazed that they really didn’t remember. “I remember that.”

Traximus stood and got out of the pool, “I’m being summoned.” He looked at Raph and Mikey, “If it’s to fight your Demons, I’ll make sure to capture them as opposed to killing them.”

“That would be very kind of you,” Mikey looked up at him.

Raph watched Traximus and noted the scars on his body. He has known Trax for a long time and had never noticed his scars before. He looked down at the crack in his plastron, remembering that he got it when he was a Demon. Angels don’t scar and they don’t carry the wounds of their Mortal life. But, Traximus has scars, like Raph.

A grin spread across his face as he realized that he had figured it out.

Leo drank from the pool, aware that he was not alone. He didn’t turn when he heard the shuffling of feet behind him. “Consorting with Angels?” one of the female Demons said.

“It’s a disgrace,” the other agreed.

A foot on his carapace had him turning to see the two Demons that he had a hand in creating. His memory has been altered again and though he could remember the events of the night, he could not remember their names.

“Have we met?” he asked, standing as he looked them over. The human had red markings over her eyelids and the white fox had purple over hers.

“No,” the human said. “We’re new. But we heard about what you did. All the other Demons are talking about it. They’re glad that you don’t know their names.”

“You gonna be another betrayer?” the fox sneered.

Leo looked at her, “What do you mean?”

“The other Demons were talking about a Demon who fell in love with an Angel and fought against his own kind,” the human answered. “It was during a battle between the Mortals, or something like that.”

“What happened to him?”

“He died,” the fox said waving her hand. “A well-deserved fate for a betrayer.”

“A fate best suited for your friend,” the human sneered.

“You leave him alone,” Leo warned.

The fox crossed her arms over her chest, “He needs to be punished for what he did to Hun.”

“Hun was trying to eat us,” Leo argued.

“Then fight him yourself,” the human snapped back. “Don’t give his name to and Angel.”

“And as I recall, you ended up eating him,” the fox added.

“Whatever,” Leo pushed his way through them. “You’re acting like there’s honor in Hell. We do what it takes to live. He knew that the Angels were there and were fighting for us. All he had to do was leave us alone and he would still be here today.”

“Coward,” the human hissed as Leo walked away.

Leo found Donnie sitting at the mouth of the cave with a big grin on his face. He looked up when Leo approached, “It has been a long time since I’ve been this happy.”

Leo smiled, “You had a good time with Raph then?”

“Yes,” Donnie beamed. “We flew into the clouds and he let me fuck him in a storm cloud, it was great.”

“Sounds like it,” Leo laughed. “I’ll have to remember that. I wanted Mikey’s first time to be a little… gentler than that.”

Donnie’s smile faded, “That’s what confused me. It wasn’t Raph first time.”

“It wasn’t?” Leo tilted his head. “I wonder who he’s been with then. Mikey was most definitely a virgin.” A smile spread across Leo’s face, “It was hard to keep control.”

They sat in silence for a while before Leo looked at Donnie, “Do you remember the battle between the settlers and the natives?”

Donnie looked out at the rising sun, “A little. Why?”

“Do you remember a Demon fighting alongside the Angels, dying that day?”

“I remember… having a different Battle Angel other than Raph back then. But I can’t remember the Angel’s name.” Donnie looked up at the passing clouds, “Why did he have to fuck with our memories?”

Leo shrugged, “I don’t know.”

Donnie looked at Leo, “What do you remember?”

“It was before Mikey was born,” Leo squinted his eyes in thought. “I didn’t have a Cherub back then.”

“I do remember a Demon, but I can’t see his face.”

“I was asked today if I would betray our kind like that,” Leo said flatly. “I would fight the Brothers themselves to protect Mikey.”

“I’m a coward,” Donnie admitted. “I don’t know if I would fight or just run and hide.”

Leo placed his hand on Donnie’s shoulder, “I remember you as an Angel. You fought to protect the Mortals, putting yourself in danger in the process.”

“I don’t know if I have that in me anymore,” Donnie sobbed.

“You might just surprise yourself,” Leo smiled at him. “Come on. Let’s get some rest.” The two Demons climbed into the dark spaces in the cave to settle down for the day. They nuzzled close to each other, but for the first time since they met there was no desire for more.
