Jutting out of landscape into the water was a long slightly rotten pier where an old boat shed sat on the shore at its start, when built it was for a local fishing operation which hasn't been a thing in a few decades, instead today the small dock is owned by a diving company, largely a training center, but also host for a club and some science or tourism work.
Misty's father pulled a wetsuit over his bulging speedo before pulling on the rest of the diving gear, normally he'd leave the puppy behind at home but didn't have any other choices but to bring her along, not that he had any plans for her to go into the water, only to hang about nearby or go play in the old playground. "Alright, I shouldn't be longer than an hour." the strong wolf said while ruffling Misty's hair. The pup gave a cute smile and replied, "No problem, stay safe daddy!" she said hugging him, he returned laughing replying, "You too!" before he walked down the end of the pier, sat on the edge and allowed himself to fall into the deep.
Misty smirked, with a little giggle she skipped back towards the diving shed which had been left unlocked. Slipping inside she perused all the various different items, the oxygen tanks, goggles and the such, then she paused on the diving weights. There were belts which weights could be attached too to aid in buoyancy for divers, such a thing was only for those with certification of which she was certainly not.
Chewing her lip, she didn't see the harm in trying one on while standing on land, she quickly pulled off her dress for which she had already sneakily worn her one-piece swimsuit underwards and she grabbed an appropriately sized belt and attached it over her waist, giving a little jiggle to make sure it was fitted tightly.
Then one by one she'd attach weights around until she felt she was at her limit, "Cool!" she said to nobody as she gave a little walk around the room.
Suddenly there was a glint in her eyes, a flash of an idea, yet another smirk across her face. What if she jumped off the pier and swam back to shore, trying out the weights, there would be no harm in that right? It was not like she was really going diving or anything and she thought of herself as being a great swimmer.
So it was that Misty walked out of the shed wearing just her swimsuit and weights, walking down to the end of the pier where her father had taken off, she felt a rush of both nervous and excitement, then throwing all caution to the wind she jumps off the edge, at first the jump felt weird because of the weights but then it began to feel really weird as she rushed towards the water much faster than normal, barely giving her time to take a breath properly.
Misty plunged into the calm but deep ocean water, cool without being oppressively cold, instantly she felt the weight drag her down and she kicked her little legs rapidly, flinging her arms out to swim rapidly up to the surface, draining all her energy in the process. Resurfacing with a gasp, she felt herself being dragged down again, attempting to swim back the distance was too long, this was a mistake, she knew it now.
Her paws scrambled to try and undo the weights, but they were on too tight and she couldn't focus properly to disconnect them while also trying to swim up, she needed both of her arms to swim with this weight. She had not been trained; she was not prepared.
She swam up and barely made it, gasping violently upon the resurface. She instantly called out for help, screaming, "HELP ME! DADDY! I'M DROWNING! PLEASE HEL-aagbhghable!" Pulled under the surface she was sinking, her muscles aching. She tried to wiggle out of the belt, but her tail blocked it and it was on too tight, she didn't know quick ways to ease herself.
She tried to take it off, finally she managed to get a weight off but it was too late, in the time she had sunk half-way down. She gave up and tried to swim up, but it was too high to go, she was too weak to swim against the weight dragging her down, her cheeks puffed with air she was now thrashing in panic, legs and arms flailing, lungs on fire, alone in the deep, seconds away from death.

When you can't take off your weight belt and it wont let you swim back to the surface, it just hugs your hips and slowly pulls you down to the ocean bed for a slumber :3 Gift for \r\n\t\t\t\t\t
