That’s why I thought to do this, and also to share my musical shapening.\n\nThe first time I ever heard a real song was Sum 41’s “We’re All to Blame” on Godzilla: Final Wars, and that kicked off my taste in music. I mean, I had heard songs before, but most were stuff included in things for education, or in classrooms or just whenever, but that was the first time I heard a song, liked it, and went searching for it. That was probably when I was 7 or 8, back in ’05 or ’06. At that time, in second grade, kids were also talking about bands like Slipknot, which I loved when I found them online, and my mom had several CDs from the late 90s, Disturbed and Korn were what I picked up. Korn was my favorite band up until I discovered Metallica around 2010. I also found a lot of stuff from dinosaur tributes on Youtube, which were really big at the time and I loved dinosaurs, and I remember finding AC/DC and Five Finger Death Punch through them. Some other bands I grew up with were Lordi, Mastodon, Papa Roach, Limp Bizkit, Marilyn Manson, Tool, Alice in Chains, Rob Zombie and Three Days Grace. Eventually I came across Children of Bodom, 3 Inches of Blood. Through Adamwestlapdog’s Majora’s Mask Abridged series I found Sonata Arctica, and also by that time my mom had shown me Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne and Judas Priest. I was kinda trapped in this eclectic mish-mash of genres until 2012, but before then, I did have a brief stint with Hardcore Punk after I found out about Anti-Nowhere League and Dead Kennedys from my mom, and I listened to them along with The Descendants, The Exploited, 7 Seconds, FEAR and Bad Brains. I also discovered D.R.I. and Suicidal Tendencies then, and those two bands in particular, along with Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer would get me on the road to that path on which I stayed. In late 2011 and through most of 2012 I was into thrash metal a lot, even NWOTM which, in retrospect, I don’t like as much, but back then I was into all thrash, from late 80s Thrashcore to NWOTM to Bay Area Thrash and a few German thrash bands. At about the same time, I was also getting into a lot of U.S. Power Metal and some obscure 80’s traditional bands. I stopped my thrash phase about the middle of 2012 and was pretty much into all true metal from then on, also throwing off all the old bands I used to listen to so much, especially Metallica, but also Korn and Three Days Grace and all the alternative and nu-metal stuff. I only listen to those genres on occasion from then on. From late 2012 to late 2013 or so, U.S. Power Metal and some traditional metal ruled my musical world. Late 2013 was also when I first bought albums for myself, and I spent on Manilla Road, Cirith Ungol and Griffin mostly. Sadly, those albums are lost from me atm, since I also moved around that time, and they are still in a box somewhere. In mid-2014, I was all into NWOBHM, and Diamond Head, Saxon and Angel Witch ruled my playlist. It kinda wore off by the end of the year, with all those bands merely being absorbed into my wider metal pool. Then I had another spurt at the end of 2015 where I found Black Metal for the first time since seeing Mayhem back in 2012, but that also died quick and just got absorbed. Nowadays I just kinda like all metal, no one subgenre ruling much, though there are small bursts when I try to plow through scenes I’ve never really been through before like Glam and Death metal, which were I went through in early 2016 and early 2017 respectively. I also am trying to get back to the stuff I used to listen to, as well as going deeper in those genres and getting into other rock and non-rock genres like Psychedelic Rock, Hard Rock, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Funk, Soul, RnB, Blues, folk and medieval music and even a little 80s hip hop. In spite of this, though, I always come back to my 80s metal, which has dominated my life from 2011 onward, despite some hiccups, 80s metal is my real musical heart.","description_bbcode_parsed":"<span style='word-wrap: break-word;'>Music is a very big part of my life.
