Early the next morning, at around 4 in the morning, the lab doors were unlocked. The other scientist who had left Click alone yesterday entered the lab. She was of the New Race. Her skin was blue, ears pointed, long, flowing silvery hair, and teeth like a human's, but more pointed. She was dressed all in white, as most life scientists are, her lab coat covering most of her. Her name is unpronounceable in most other languages, so she's taken the Earth name of Alexandra, after one of my close friends. She looked over to the corner of the room to find Click, asleep, her fur matted in blood, and her appearance as if she cried herself to sleep on the lab floor. Immediately, she became worried for her colleague. She kneeled down next to her, and shook her awake. "Click. Wake up..." She groaned weakly, and slowly stood, unsticking herself from the bloody floor. "Oh... I'm sorry... I-I'll clean this up..." She speaks without emotion, all of her emotions drained the previous night. "What happened?! Who did this to you?" She walks her over towards the chemical shower in the opposite corner of the lab. "Dark Gabriel tricked me... He... Used me... I thought he was Gabriel... He said all those nice things to me, and I actually believed I had a chance with him..." Her eyes widened slightly. "Dark Gabriel?! What did he want?..." "... The virus... His virus..." Surprised, she pushes Click in to the shower, she slides down the shower wall. "WHAT?! YOU LET HIM HAVE THAT?!" She's upset at him, because at one time, she had been in love with me. It was after she found out she was pregnant and her actual mate disappeared. Though he came back, she still has strong feelings for me. Especially since we're still technically married according to their law. "Ow! I-I'm sorry! He tricked me!" She stands up, pulling the shower cord to help her up. Water and chemical cleaning agents flow over, soaking her completely. She stays in there, cleaning herself. She sighs. "I'm sorry..." She walks over to a machine, and she starts sliding through what appears to be different genetic models. Click shakes herself dry, her fur clean of blood. She then grabs a med kit from right next to the shower, sits on a lab bench, and cleans and bandages her wounds csrefully. "What are you doing now?..." "I'm doing my job. An innocent life is dying of a disease, and we have to do all we can to prevent his death." She continues sliding through the models, until she encounters the code for the one Dark Gabriel has. "But, there's no cure to that virus." Click walks besides her, looking over her shoulder. "Well, then. It's our responsibility to create one. Knowing Gabriel, and assuming what his 'dark side' is, we have less than a few hours before him and his pet are infected." Alexandra hadn't been updated on Gabriella's life status recently, and assumes she's still under my control. "If that's true, we have only until the end of second third to make the cure and get it to Gabriel. 16 hours to cure an artificially perfected disease..." Even as she questions the likeliness, she starts to work. "Listen. If my mate's father could completely change the function of a human destroying virus in a half hour, then we can cure a specialized virus in half a day." She presses a button, and a 3D image of me is displayed on the bench nearby. "Alright." Click grabs what appears to be an alien iPad. "I assume you want to start with some simulations?" "It's safer." She grabs a second one. "Okay. We'll start by effecting Gabriel's Sim with the virus, and trying all known vaccines in order." Click searches that up. "That's 17,523." "Then we better get started." With that, they immediately started to play high speed simulations where I was infected, brought to near death, then vaccinated. For the next few hours, they only managed to watch me be completely destroyed by the virus hundreds of times a minute. They knew they'd get a solution eventually... But would it be in time?...
