I picked up the dragon and got on. I sat in the back so no one would pay attention to us or see us. Then I noticed a note tied to its paw. It read simply this: \"Last known of its kind. Protect her from hunters.\" Then I felt, so suddenly, a responsibility fall on me. As one interested in the biological sciences, protecting an endangered species was exciting to me. And very important.\n\nI couldn't let her out of my sight. I gave her one kiss on the forehead and whispered \"You're safe with me.\" She gave an excited and pleasant squee of joy that everyone heard. They all turned back and saw me with the dragon. I just said: \"Don't worry.
