He looked so peaceful sleeping, I didn't want to wake him, so I slipped out of his embrace, and got out of bed. I pulled the blankets over him, and then I decided to go upstairs and go cook breakfast.\n\nIt was a Saturday morning, and my family had gone to do their own things, so I had the house to myself. Of course, my family expected me to have lunch ready when they returned, and the kitchen clean. Sometimes I feel they use me... But then I ignore it and clean.\n\nSome time later, Kai gently woke up. He felt the warm blankets carefully placed over him, and smiled. He realized I wasn't there, but he assumed I was in another room and didn't want to wake him.\n\nHe got out of bed, and took a look at the sheets. He blushed a bit, and decided to undress the bed. He took my sheets and blanket, and put them in the basement to wash. He looked at the washing machine, and was confused. He was used to hand washing things, and hasn't seen much machinery up until recently, so he just left the sheets on the basement floor.\n\nHe walked upstairs, and saw me in the kitchen. He was going to walk up to me, but then he heard I was singing to myself.\n\nWhile I was cooking us some breakfast, I remembered a song I heard long ago, and I decided to start singing it.\n\n\"It's been a year, since last we met... We may never meet again... I have struggled to forget... But the struggle was in vain...\nFor her voice lives on the breeze... And her spirit comes at will... In the midnight on the seas... Her bright smile haunts me still...\nIn the midnight on the seas... Her bright smile haunts me still...\"\n\nHe heard me singing that, and he thought to himself. \"(... Did he once have a mate?... She sounds pleasant... He must miss her...)\" He started to feel bad for what he did last night... He thought he must have stirred up some memories of a lost love in me...\n\n\"I have sailed a failing sky... An I've charted hazard's paths... I have seen the storms arise... Like a giant in his wrath...\nEvery danger I have known... That a reckless life can fill... Though her presence is now flown... Her bright smile haunts me still...\nThough her presence is now flown... Her bright smile haunts me still...\"\n\n\"(I had no idea... He seems to have been a sailor once... Facing quite some dangerous things... And he still hasn't forgotten her...)\"\n\n\"At the first sweet dawn of light... As I gaze upon the deep... Her form still greets my sight... While the stars their vigils keep...\nWhen I close my aching eyes... Sweet dreams my memories fill... And from sleep when I arise... I feel horrible...)\"\n\nI was just finishing the eggs, when I turned to see Kai standing there, looking at me from behind a wall. I looked to him and smiled. \"Hey, Kai. How did you sleep?\"\n\n\"F-fine...\" He said. He slowly came up to me. \"I heard you singing, and I didn't want to interrupt you...\"\n\n\"It's alright. Well, breakfast is almost ready. Hope you're alright with eggs and toast, cause that's all we had. I need to head to the market soon.\"\n\n\"It's good, thanks.\" He looked at the food, then back to me. \"About last night...\"\n\nI looked at him, and spoke softly to him. \"Don't worry about last night... I forgive you...\"\n\n\"But... I don't think I can forgive myself... I heard your song... I know you're thinking of someone else... If I knew you were still waiting for someone... I would have never...\"\n\nI put my paw on his lips to silence him. \"Listen. That was just a song. None of that was my life. I have had a few break ups, but I'm over them. You don't need to worry about it.\"\n\nKai looked into my eyes, as if to make sure I was being sincere. I nodded, and he came close to me. He hugged me, putting one of his paws on my chest, feeling my chest fur, blushing deeply. I held him close with one arm, finishing the meal with my free paw. He continued to hold me, feeling me, and after a minute, I was feeling really awkward.\n\n\"Uh... Kai?...\"\n\nBlushing deeply as he realized he was still holding me, he pulled away slowly, as he secretly didn't want to let go. \"S-sorry...\"\n\n\"It's alright... You're a nice guy, Kai. I'm sure you'll make someone really happy some day.\" With that, I served both of our plates, and brought us to the table.\n\nWe ate breakfast quickly, then I started to clean the kitchen. He started to wash the pan, and I put my paw on his arm.\n\n\"You're a guest. I've got this.\"\n\n\"You've already done so much for me... Is there anything I can do?\"\n\nI then remembered how we didn't have much food for lunch for my family. \"Well, if I gave you some money, you think you could run to the market to pick up a few things?\"\n\n\"Sure. I could do that for you.\" He smiled.\n\n\"Great. That gives me more time to clean.\" I grabbed some money my mom had given me for groceries, and gave it to Kai, along with a list. \"Here's this. If there's any extra, feel free to grab yourself something.\"\n\nHe nodded, then smiled. \"Alright. I'll be leaving now.\" He walked towards the door, and just as he was about to leave, he stopped, and turned around. \"... Are you sure you're okay about last night?...\"\n\nI smiled, and told him \"Kai... You're a good guy... I know you've been through a lot, and I also know you'd never hurt anyone...\"\n\nBlushing, he nodded. \"I'll be back soon.
