To start with, Alex and the rest of his siblings always bullies his littlest brother, and not even in an endearing way. It was all because Arcturus suffered a rare mutation where he could never evovlve no matter what, and have to stay an eevee for the rest of his life. The bullying got so bad, one day Arc snapped and pulled a scheme that end up with all his siblings sold in slave market, Including Alex. Everyone begged and screamed, but Arc just casually kicked them in the cage. It was the day Alex swore he would kill the eevee once and for all. Years passed after that fateful moment, and time has ways to change people. Arc, ironically, had become one of the teams that worked hard to rescue slaves all over the continent. And one of the slaves he rescued from a major operations was no other than Alex himself, already humbled from his years of slavery. Both brothers sat quietly that night. Both wanted to say something, but unable to utter even a single word. "I am sorry." It was Arc who finally spoke the first word, and not without gathering a whole lot of bravery on his part. Alex turned his head towards his little brother. He could see Arc could not even bring himself to face him when apologizing. "What you did... was not something that could be forgiven easily. And you know that. Do they even know what you did to us?" "Yes," Arc still had his head down, "I am paying a lifetime sentence of social labor for it." "That's... harsh." Arc finally lifted his face up, "I went down a dark path afterwards. Much darker path. I was spared of death penalty because of the tireless effort of my friends. Since then... I am trying to make things right again." "Which is why you focused on freeing slaves for your social obligations?" Alex's words were spot on. He hasn't lost his wits even after almost a decade of slavery. Arc could only nod for that remark. "I swore to find all of you and freed you all. Then you can roast me or kill me or whatever." A single smile, almost invisible, formed at the tip of Alex's lips. He knew Arc had as much reasosn to hate him as much as he did towards the Eevee. Yet he could see the sincerity is his eyes when saying that. Time does have ways to change people. "At least I have no intention of killing you. My nightmare is finally over, but yours will continue on for the rest of your life with that lifetime sentence on." Alex turned his head forward, "But I guess you had paid all the bad things I did to you in your youth in full... But years of slavery is too much of a payback, I need to return some of the payment to make us even." Arc lifted his head up again, waiting for his brother's verdict, "Please...
