planned to do for the longest time. in fact, the sketch i had for kopa was very old, and i had to revisit it for anatomy fixes. everytime i listen to ellie goulding's 'lights' i think of the trauma kopa endured after being almost killed by zira, and how much he loves his siblings to the point that there's always this tiny bit of hope he'll see them again someday... down to the 'queen has been overthrown' (zira) and whatnot. it also reflects his fear of being forgotten by his family.\n\ni know the actual song is about ellie goulding's fear of the dark when she was a kid, but bleh, i didn't know that until halfway through the drawing and i wasn't gonna stop over the og artist's interpretation. art in any form is made to be felt and interpreted however you please lolol\n\nthis is also a lowkey vent piece... i've had life-changing things happen to me lately and this is one way i had to remove at least a little bit of the pain from my heart.","description_bbcode_parsed":"<span
