A few days ago I decided to draw them in the way I envision their cub (not baby) selves to be, and this is the result.\nJua is the princess of the Pridelands once Simba and Nala pass away, and Upendo is the future leader of the next Lion Guard. Jua is the oldest, and although she has a pretty laid back personality, she's pretty reliable and responsible, very mature for her age too. Unlike Kiara and Simba before her, as a cub she does enjoy playing, but she isn't as rebellious nor ocassionally haughty. Basically, she's pretty level-headed. Upendo on the other hand is a very adventurous cub, although he has self esteem issues as he grows older and isn't as confident, which is something people expect to see in a Lion Guard leader. He's constantly being given pep talks by Vitani to encourage him to improve though, and his family, sister included, really do their best to support him.\n\nJua's design is a mixture of different things - like Nala, she lacks colored toes, and her eye color is the same as hers. Her pelt colour is very Simba-esque, but the fur in her tail is already red instead of brown. She's as scruffy as Simba and Kiara were as cubs too. As for Upendo, his brown is similar to Scar's and Kovu's sort of (even though they're not the same), and the backway tuft on his head is similar to Kion's and Scar's. He has a pink outlander nose similar to Vitani's even though they're not related by blood, probably because Kovu has a black outlander nose while Kiara's is pink and soft, so it's a mixture of both concepts.\n\nThe background is not mine, it's from the Lion Guard.
