He can also take another mage's energy to cast his own spells, but he's not trained in other forms of magic, so that's kinda difficult.\n\nThe second one is a Fate Mage, who communes with ancestral spirits and ghosts, and essentially asks them to lend him their will. The effects from this vary from a sudden shift in the winds to full-on gale force thunderstorms; a ripple in a pool of water or a literal parting of the seas. He can tweak with one's mind and tinker with their perceptions, drive them mad and the like, but commune with the spirits of the past can have that effect on him as well. They generally reside in large churches, training under priests and clerics.\n\nThe centre two are Adepts, and for this magic they  need to be born with a spark of it in their blood. Adepts come in two main Flavours. Diem: The forces of the lighter elements, and Noctem: the forces of the darker ones. This translates roughly to opacity and ability to produce light, Fire/Air/Light versus Earth/Water/Shadow. Diametrically opposed as they are, they generally spark conflict between one another. They understand, though, that they require one-another for balance. Diem are not always 'good' and Noctem are not always 'evil'. They are simply darkness and light, not bad and good. They train in monastic temples to the elements. Either separated into day and night, or combined into diurnal temples and forced to mingle with the opposing ilk.\n\nThe fifth is the closest thing to a Traditional \"Wizard\" or \"Shaman\". These Magi typically present as the main body of the users of magic; being the most prolific. They train in towers,  but require a similar spark to the one the adepts require, though less selective. Their tutelage is funded by the crown while the other castes learn in churches, and monasteries. These mages generally also Train in Runes, but to a much lesser extent, being able to perform basic translocations, and cast destructive forces at will. Their true power comes from their healing abilities, and the sponge-like potions that they can imbue spells into. \n\nThe last one is our Bunny Boy Scribe. Sometimes paid for by the crown, but often out of pocket by rich nobles. Rune-Magic is one of the harder forms to 'learn' but requires no magic inherent in the blood to excel in. It is, sadly, a long process to cast even a simple spell. But the spells cast by a rune mage last many orders of magnitude longer than the longest of basic spells from the others. Scribes generally call on the existing power in the air, and tap the leylines of the land in the same way one would tap into a waterway. They always train under a Magi master in a Tower Library. These mages can turn simple parlor tricks, or booby-trap an entire fortress to render the enemies of a state unto stone.
