Since it’s an Advanced Placement class, he has very high expectations. He’s assigned us a pretty interesting first book to read – Maus by Art Spiegelman. It’s a graphic novel about the Holocaust during World War II, and it’s very artistic, because all of the Germans are cats and all of the Jews are mice. It’s a reference to really old fights that cats and mice had a long time ago. Pigs are in there, too, as the average Polish people. I don’t think I’m Polish, but you never know. \n\nIt’s funny…I asked Professor Anderson about the book, because I’d seen some of Spiegelman’s work in the Little Lit books. He seemed pleased that I knew who the artist was, and he talked to me for a while about comic books and graphic novels and the debate about whether or not they were literature. He mentioned to me that this might be a good subject for a term paper, and he gave me this little wink. It made me feel kind of naughty, because I felt like he was giving me a chance to start thinking about it.\n\nComputer Science was okay. Professor Barnes really is kind of rude. He makes a lot of derogatory comments about people who don’t work well with computers, calling them dinosaurs. I didn’t say anything, because I didn’t want to cause trouble, but I could see a few students were really uncomfortable getting yelled at when they had problems with the class project. I tried to help them out. There’s this hyena named Roscoe Farris, and he’s having a lot of problems with the computers. The keyboards aren’t really made for furs with big claws, and Roscoe doesn’t seem…well, I don’t want to be uncharitable, but he doesn’t seem like the brightest guy. Professor Barnes was really starting to lay into him, and Roscoe was getting more and more frustrated. Finally, I volunteered to help tutor Roscoe, and he just looked so grateful. He seems nice. Hopefully, we’ll be friends.\n\nProfessor Lane’s sociology class seems like it’s gonna be really tough. She launched right into it today, and I found myself kind of scrambling to keep up. I guess Sociology isn’t going to be my best subject, but I’ll stick with it. I’m not a quitter.\n\nThen there’s Western Civ. Professor Zapruski is really kind of captivating to listen to. He started with Ancient Rome, and, the way he talks, you’d almost feel like he’d been there. History was never one of my favorite subjects, but I feel like it’s going to be. That bookish nature I’d seen in him really kind of melted away as he gleefully talked about grisly murders and weird perversions in Ancient Rome. I guess he’s really into his subject. As a joke, he brought around a picture of an old toga party he’d been in during his own college days. I have to say, he wasn’t bad looking at all!\n\nOh! I finally found out Jerry’s last name – Waits. He jokingly told me that it makes so much sense, because he’s waiting for the professors to be ready to review his thesis. Jerry’s actually older than I thought – he’s going for his Masters!\n\nWhich kind of brings me to my secret crush. And I have to be honest…it’s actually two secret crushes.\n\nIt wasn’t, yesterday, so I wasn’t lying when I said just “Crush”, but, today, I’m kind of seeing things a little differently.\n\nI have to admit that I thought Jerry was beautiful from the moment I saw him. He’s got the prettiest emerald green eyes, and they’re really bright and big. He has blond hair on top, and a rocking swimmer’s build. I mean, I’ve seen him shirtless as he came out of in the dorm shower room (too bad I wasn’t just a little faster!) He’s got a gorgeous set of abs. I’m jealous! \n\nWhat’s cool about Jerry is that he seems totally at ease. I mean, he’s so confident! If I’d been the one coming out of the showers shirtless, I would’ve been mortified, but Jerry just grinned at me. “Hey, lil buddy,” he said. “Left you plenty of hot water.” I can tell you, diary, I had to take care of some business in the shower after that.\n\nBut...after today, I have to admit something. Professor Zapruski is really kind of sexy, too. His enthusiasm was kind of infectious, and, when he was all animated, I got a really different feel from him. Yesterday, he seemed all withdrawn and uncomfortable in his own skin. But today, he was just so…alive!\n\nHis fur markings are really beautiful, too. He has those typical badger stripes, but the fur around his muzzle is a little longer and it’s silver. Not gray. Silver. It looks like little strands of metal. And his eyes are this really, really rich brown. And when he was standing up, I realized how big he was. He must be over six foot four, and he has these huge hands. I found myself imagining him massaging my back with those big hands, and I seriously popped a boner in class. Thank God I was sitting at a desk. I felt like a horny teenager with all these hot guys around. Hee, hee, hee!\n\nI promised Pyotr I’d go to the drive they’re having for all the school clubs after dinner today. I’m crossing my fingers for a D&D group, but I’m not holding my breath. I noticed they have a big board for posting activities, so if there’s no official college group doing RPGs, I may start a game of my own. I’m a pretty good DM, if I do say so myself. I wonder if Jerry plays, or Roscoe.\n\nWell, that’s all for now, Diary. TTYL.\n\nChet\n\nThe future of Chet’s experiences are up to you. Please comment with the answers to the following questions:\n\nWhat extra-cirricular activities does Chet get involved with?\n\nD&D (School Sponsored)\n\nD&D (His Own Game)\n\nTheater\n\nChess Club\n\nDebate\n\nGlee Club\n\nWho does Chet accidentally get on the bad side of?\n\nPyotr (perhaps over a misunderstanding about Chet’s interests)\n\nJerry (when Chet makes a clumsy pass at him in the shower)\n\nProf. Zapruski (when Chet accidentally reveals his interest)\n\nProf. Barnes (for defending Roscoe’s participation in the class)\n\nRoscoe (when Chet gets frustrated with helping him)\n\nProf. Lane (for doing poorly in class)\n\nProf. Anderson (for failing to respond to the Professor’s subtle hints of interest)\n\nGet your answers in to both questions and help control where the story goes next.\n\n","writing_bbcode_parsed":"Dear Diary,

I know I promised to tell you about my secret crush, but my second day of classes went pretty well, and I wanted to put down some thoughts about it.

English is first, and Professor Anderson talked to us more about his expectations of us as writers and students.
