"writing": "Delores. A rat girl who's story is absolutely tragic. Both parents killed in separate shootings in the same week, her orphaned at 17. Doesn't sound bad, but she had no family to speak of, so she suddenly found herself alone.\n\nShe could in no way afford her tiny apartment without some kind of income, so she spent quite some time at her library, applying for all sorts of social programs, as well as jobs. It took some time, and after all was said and done, the poor girl was making barely enough for bills and rent. She was left with barely anything for food and clothes. \n\nThen, as a stroke of fate would have it, a sympathetic Christian saw her, starved and in rags, digging out of the dumpster. Soon, Delores was given some decent clothes, and a small selection of canned and boxed foods on a regular basis to help her live. \n\nBut the good times would not last long. After a late night at the library applying to hundreds of jobs again, a friendly enough man offered to walk her home. One thing led to another, and she wound up powerless against him.\n\nFast forward some time, the poor girl realized that horrible night had left her pregnant. Barely able to afford food for herself, she set up an appointment at a planned parenthood clinic. But as it happened, the very same woman who had set up donations for her was there protesting, along with other \"pro life\" Christians. She was warned if she killed her unborn child, her church would stop all food donations to her murderous hands. Traumatized, she went home and prepared to carry a pregnancy to term that she couldn't afford. \n\nAs she would soon learn, absolutely no one wanted to adopt a rat baby, so she knew she had to try harder to get work, to support this new baby. Months of searching, nearly starving, going several weeks without electricity at a time, and she was no closer to employment than before. If anything, her pregnant state had likely deterred any employers who had been bothered to respond to her many, many applications. \n\nThen, it came time. Too early. She walked herself to the hospital, in labor, and soon gave birth to her first son. He was smaller than normal and born a few weeks early, but he would survive. \n\nNow more than ever she needed work. That woman from the church offered to look after her baby when she went on job interviews. All of which resulted in no job. On one evening, after another interview at an inner city convenience store, the poor girl was made to relive her trauma from less than a year prior, in an alley, her cries for help falling on deaf ears. From that, she found she was to have a second child. \n\nDepression took hold of her for some time after. The hospital bill, her baby, her second pregnancy, the church making her believe it was all her fault... Her self esteem and will to live dropped to zero. \n\nShe sat in her empty kitchen, holding a steak knife. She examined it, thinking how easy it would be to just end it all. She'd be just one more death in a crime ridden city. When she heard her son cry. Snapped out of her destructive mind set, she went to feed her child. Something in seeing him, feeding from her, his entire life in her hands, she knew she had to at least try to stick it out. For him. \n",
