", "writing": "[center]House Pellicus Chapter 1\nThe Very Beginning – 1979 - 1985[/center]\n\n It’s late November, winter is starting to set in on the kingdom of Formosa. Though winter is a relative term, it only drops just below 60 degrees during the heart of winter. Kenta is slowly pacing back and forth a curtained doorway, he can hear the pained grunts and groans of a female and also the words of encouragement from another female. Kenta is an anthro-dragon with dark blue skin, and bright yellow eyes. He paused when he heard a loud roar from the room, and then a minute later, he heard the wails of a baby crying. He turned to face the doorway, waiting for the sign he can enter.\n “My lord,” came a voice from the behind the curtain. “You may enter.”\nKenta pushed the curtain aside and walked into the room. He takes a quick glance around, and sees the room is mostly empty, save for a small bed on the far wall. On that bed laid another dragon, a female with very light blue skin. At the foot of the bed, sat a female anthro-wolf, and in her arms she cradled a small bundle of towels.\n “Kenta,” said the female dragon, as Kenta walked towards the bed.\n “My lord,” said the wolf, looking behind her. She turned in the chair, showing him the bundle in her arms. “It’s a boy.”\n She held out the bundle to Kenta, he carefully took it, and cradled it in his arms. He saw the whelp’s muzzle peeking out of the towels and he carefully brushed the towel away. He looked down at the whelp, he has a darker blue skin then his mother. When the whelp opened his eyes, Kenta saw that his eyes were green, not yellow or red.\n “Kaori,” Kenta started. “His eyes are green.”\n “Just like his grandfather,” Kaori answered, smiling.\n “Oh, I thought that they would be yellow or red,” Kenta said, looking over at her.\n He walked over next to Kaori, and handed her the whelp, “So what are your thoughts about his name,” he asked her.\n She took him into her arms and looked down at him, “His name will be…,” she paused thinking. “An-Jun. His name will be An-Jun.”\n Kenta nodded, “Good name,” he agreed.\n A few minutes later, a knock came from the door jamb. Kenta looked up, and walked over to the door. He pushed aside the curtain, and looked out into the hall. He saw a tiger standing there, Kenta looked back at Kaori, she nodded and then Kenta stepped out into the hall.\n “My lord,” asked the tiger.\n “A son,” answered Kenta.\n “Very good,” returned the tiger.\n “Get the word out,” started Kenta. “The crown prince was born, and his name is An-Jun.”\n “Understood, my lord,” the tiger bowed and then headed away.\n\n By night came around, all of Formosa knew that the heir was born. Formosa is about a midsized island, 200 miles long and about 50 miles wide. Though it is quite far away, it’s a two day boat ride from the mainland. Kenta is now the emperor, after his father stepped down and then left for the mainland, and that was about 100 years ago. Dragons are very long lived, the eldest known dragon lived until he was 500 years old, but on average a dragon lives to about 400 years old. Now the island has a secret, the other anthro species can live just as long as dragons, when a cub reaches the age of 12, they are given a special drink and it slows down the aging process, and allows a non-dragon anthro to live to about 350-400 years. The capital of Formosa, Yasuoka is on the northern tip of the island, built around a natural harbor. From there all along the western side of the island is a string of villages and towns, ending with another large city/port on the southwestern tip. The eastern side of the island is mountainous and is mostly uninhabited, while the middle of the island is forested with the smattering of clearings made for farms and villages. There are no cars on the island as it was deemed too expensive to import them, along with all the other needs that they required; gasoline, motor oil, spare parts, the furs who live there don't mind, they get from one place to another by a few different ways. Walking is common within the towns and cities, horse and carriage is seen, while there is a railway leading from Yasuoka in the north, all the way down the coast to the south. The trains transport both goods that come in from both ports and furs headed to the different villages and cities. While it might seem like Formosa is cut off from the rest of the world, that is far from the truth. They have electricity, produced from dams placed at certain points along the many rivers that snake from the mountains through the forests to the western coasts. While it took some time, a large underwater cable was laid and connects Formosa to the mainland, through this cable came the signals for television, telephone, and the beginnings of networks for a new technology, computers.\n\n “Any questions,” asked a grey dragon, looking around at the group.\n “So my dad is the ruler,” asked a 6 year old An-Jun.\n “That is correct, An-Jun,” the dragon answered, he looked over at the clock. “Hmmm, almost lunch time.”\n The dragon looked around at the small group of cubs sitting in front of him, two dragons, An-Jun and a female grey dragon, a yellow furred female bunny, a female grey wolf, a female tiger, and finally a male orange furred fox. “Alright, that’s enough for today,” said the male dragon. “Lunch should be ready soon, so why don’t you all go to the dining hall and wait.”\n “Thank you, Tai,” said the group in unison. They all got up from the floor and filed out of the small class room and started walking to the dining hall. As they walked through the hallway, windows to the outside showed that they were inside the emperor’s palace. The palace is built into the side and top of a hill, that is along side the harbor. It was also built away from the docks so it was much quieter around the palace. All the cubs were the cubs of those who either worked under Kenta or lived in the palace as staff.\n “So AJ, your dad’s the emperor,” stated the bunny girl.\n An-Jun glanced over at her, “Yeah,” agreed An-Jun.\n “So you’ll become emperor too,” asked the tiger girl.\n “Probably,” answered An-Jun\n “You will,” said the fox. “It’s like Tai said before, your grandfather gave your father the throne, that means you will too.”\n “You sure, Scy,” asked the wolf.\n “Of course, Reiko,” answered Scy.\n “Sounds like fun,” said the other dragon.\n “I..uh, don’t think so, Crystal,” returned An-Jun.\n “What do you mean, AJ,” asked Crystal.\n “Well, sometimes I can hear mom and dad talking at night,” started An-Jun. “And from what I can make out, there are things that bother dad.”\n “Like what,” asked Reiko the wolf, as the group entered the dining room.\n “Not sure,” answered An-Jun. “Couldn’t hear everything.”\n They all walked over to a table in a corner of the dining hall, set up lower for their size. They sat down in their chairs and waited for their lunch.\n “But still, must be cool,” said the bunny.\n “Kinda, Zoe,” answered An-Jun.\n “Kinda what,” asked a voice, coming from another entrance to the dining room.\n The six cubs ‘eeped’ and stiffened up, they knew who that voice belonged to. They all look towards the other side of the room and they see, Kenta walking towards them.\n “Father,” greeted An-Jun\n “My lord,” added the others in unison.\n “Cubs,” he returned. “‘Kinda what’? What were you talking about?”\n An-Jun quickly glanced at the others, “Ah, umm, we were learning about Formosa,” he answered.\n “And,” prodded Kenta.\n “Tai told us about how you became emperor,” continued An-Jun. “That grandfather stepped down and let you have it.”\n “That is correct,” said Kenta.\n “Scytale said that you would do the same thing,” said An-Jun, looking over at the fox.\n “And he is right,” said Kenta. “When the time is right, I’ll step down and then you’ll become emperor.”\n “See, told yah, AJ,” said Scytale.\n “Yeah,” nodded An-Jun.\n Kenta looked over at Scytale, then back at An-Jun. “AJ,” he asked.\n “Ahh, umm, heh,” An-Jun nervously chuckled. “Nickname.”\n “I see,” said Kenta, then looked at the other cubs. “So instead of calling him An-Jun, you call him AJ.”\n A series of ‘Yeahs’ and ‘Uh huhs’ came from the others, while Kenta nodded. “So do any of you have nicknames,” he asked.\n “Um, I go by ‘Scy’,” answered Scytale.\n “‘Crys’,” added Crystal. “But that’s cause Tai calls me that too.”\n “Ah, yes, Tai Yasuda,” nodded Kenta. “He is your older brother.”\n “Yes,” Crystal nodded.\n “And also your instructor,” Kenta added.\n Seconds later, they all heard a door open, and Kenta looked up, seeing a staff member pushing a cart. “Seems your lunch is ready,” stated Kenta. “I will see you all later?”\n “Yes, father,” said An-Jun.\n “Yes, my lord,” added the others.\n Kenta started to walk away, nodding to the server, who greeted him. He then turned and started to walk out a third doorway and to another part of the palace. The server pushed his cart up to the table where the cubs were seated, greeted them, and then proceeded to place food on the table. There were sandwiches, baby carrots, celery, apple slices, grapes, and other fruits, and finally fruit juice and water. The cubs thanked him, and he nodded and then went back through the doorway he came in from, back into the kitchen.\n “You think your dad is angry with us,” asked the tiger girl, once the server was gone.\n “Don’t think so, Raja,” answered An-Jun. “Surprised maybe, but not angry.”\n “What do you think he’s gonna do,” Raja asked.\n “Nothing really,” answered An-Jun, picking up a sandwich and putting it on his plate. “He’ll still call us by our names, and let us use our nicknames.”\n “Oh okay,” said Raja, getting her own sandwich.\n The cubs all started to add food to their plates, and ate, talking about small things, cartoons, toys and other kid things. After a while, Tai came walking in and grabbed a chair from the main table and slid it over to the cubs’ table.\n “How’s lunch,” he asked, sitting down at one end of the table.\n The cubs answered with ‘good’ between bites of food. Tai started to explain that after they finish their lunch, they would end up having to split up and go their different ways for the rest of the day. The cubs whined, they wanted to go play together, however, they weren’t going to win, Tai was insistent on what was planned for their afternoon. The cubs relented, stopping their whining, and finished up their lunches. After they were done, Tai had them split up and go in their respective ways. Tai took his sister and headed off on their own way, An-Jun went out the same door his father did a little while ago, while the other four went back the way they came towards the classroom and then off on their own things that was set up for them.\n\n That evening the cubs were reunited for dinner, they took their seats at their table, while their parents sat at the large table in the middle of the hall. The sounds of conversations carried throughout the dining room, mostly everybody was talking about minor things, how their day went, while the cubs talked about what happened after lunch, and they had to go their separate ways. They discovered that they will be learning new things beyond their normal schooling, Crystal will learn to be a shamanistic healer, Zoe a servant but also a masseuse and body therapy, Reiko is to become a tailor, Raja will learn about the mainland as she will follow her father as a diplomat, and finally Scytale is going to be an apprentice smith. Of course, An-Jun would learn what it would be to be an emperor, but he is also to learn self-defense martial arts. Though they wouldn’t get to play with each other as much anymore, they would still have the weekends to get together. Dinner went by followed by dessert, and after everybody was done, and the tables cleared off, Kenta walked over to the cubs.\n “How was your dinner,” he asked.\n They answered saying that it was good, and enjoyed it, all while Kenta nodded and smiled.\n “That’s good to hear,” he said. “I request that all of you go to the bath house downstairs and go get your baths down there.”\n The cubs all looked at each other, “Are you sure, father,” asked An-Jun. “You said that it was off limits until we are older.” The others nodded in agreement with him.\n “True, I did,” answered Kenta. “But I can also make an exception. And I would like you all to go.”\n The cubs looked at each other unsure and also embarrassed, the thing that they heard was that the bath wasn’t separated for boys and girls, like the two that were up in the living quarters.\n “If that’s what you want,” said An-Jun, looking at the others. “We’ll go.”\n “Thank you,” said Kenta. “You will all enjoy it. Be at the stairs down in an hour, with a change of clothes, alright?”\n “Yes,” answered the cubs together.\n With that, Kenta walked away and then it was announced that everyone was dismissed. Everybody got up and headed off in their separate directions, the cubs agreed to meet at the stairs to the bath house in an hour, and then followed their parents out of the dining hall and to their rooms.\n About 45 minutes later, the cubs met at the stairs and waited for Kenta to show up. They were chatting amongst themselves, when Kenta appeared, walking up the staircase.\n “Ready to go,” he asked, standing at the top step.\n The group all nodded their heads, “Good, then come on,” Kenta said, motioning for them to follow. They followed him down the stairs and as they turned a corner they felt the warm, moist air from the bath, wash over them. They saw at the bottom of the stairs a female dragon attendant was waiting for them, “My lord,” she greeted Kenta. As the cubs reached the bottom of the stairs, they stopped and waited. They quickly looked around the bath house, and found at one end a huge steaming soaking pool shaped and designed to look like a natural pond. Just past the pool, the wall was floor to ceiling glass windows, and looked out over the harbor. On the other side from the stairs sat stations where one would wash themselves, mirrors, a shower wand, and holders for shampoo, soap and conditioner, but each station had an attendant sitting on a stool watching the group of cubs.\n “And these are the ‘guests’ you talked about earlier,” she asked.\n “Yes,” nodded Kenta, turning to stand next to her, looking at the group. “After talking with their parents, they agreed that these cubs deserve something nice. So a bit of pampering is in order.”\n “Very well,” said the attendant, looking over the cubs. “If you would follow me please?”\n The cubs glanced at Kenta, who just nodded, they followed the other dragon, each carrying a change of clothes. The female dragon lead the cubs over to the other side of the bath house, away from the pool, to a room. As they walked away, Kenta turned and headed back up the stairs, mentally noting when he should come back to get the cubs. She stopped at the doorway, “Please change in here,” she said smiling at the group. “You’ll find spots for all your clothes in here.”\n They peeked in and saw that it was one giant room, with no privacy for them. “Do we have to,” asked Reiko, with a quiet whimper.\n “Yes, please,” nodded the dragon. “Here boys and girls are mixed, no separation like the normal baths upstairs.”\n “So please,” she said again, motion for them to enter.\n They hesitated, but after a couple of seconds, An-Jun entered, soon followed by Crystal. Not wanting to be left behind, the other four cubs entered also. Inside the changing room, An-Jun and Scytale took one side while the other four girls where on the other side, their backs to each other so they couldn’t see each other’s privates. After a couple of minutes, An-Jun asked the girls if it was okay for them to go out first, they answered yes. An-Jun and Scytale exited first, covering themselves as the dragon was standing there waiting for them. She smiled, giggling to herself at the two boys, “You two please go to the first two attendants,” she said pointing over to the stations.\nThey looked over seeing that they were both girls, they were going to complain, but noticed that all the attendants were girls, they both blushed and slowly walked over to the attendants. As they walked over, the girls came out, they too were covering themselves, in embarrassment. The dragon motioned them to the other four stations, next to the boys. They quickly headed over to the others, and sat down into the stool. Once each cub was seated, the attendant at the station, knowing that the cubs are nervous about their nudity, placed a small towel in their lap covering up their privates. While they were covered up, they still felt embarrassed, but the female dragon walked up behind them.\n “Just relax,” she said. “Unlike the baths upstairs, were you bathe yourself, we’re the ones that will wash and take care of you.”\n With that, she walked away, and then the attendants turned on the wand shower heads and then washed the cubs down. Both An-Jun and Crystal being dragons, don’t have fur, they have a leather-like skin. After the group was all wet, the attendants turned off the water, and reached for the fur shampoo, while it was a special soap for the two dragon whelps. Each attendant then soaped up the cubs, scrubbing and rubbing their fur and skin. At the beginning the cubs were wary feeling hands rub over them, but as the lather built up, and their fur and skin were scrubbed, they relaxed and started to enjoy the attention. They were fully soaped up, from head to tail, and much to the embarrassment of the cubs, and their privates. They didn’t protest, but they all blushed when the attendant reached under the towel and cleaned them there. Once each cub was all cleaned up, they were rinsed off and scrubbed again. As they were getting the soap washed off, the older female dragon walked up waiting until they were all rinsed off. After they the soap was washed away and the cubs all clean, she spoke up, “Did you all enjoy that,” she asked.\n The cubs all nodded in agreement, “Good to hear,” she said, acknowledging them. “Now it’s off to the pool with you.” They looked over at the pool, then they realized, there is no separation and they would all be able to see each other.\n “Yes, you will,” answered the dragon, already knowing their question. “But you it is required.”\n The cubs defeated, got up and then headed over to the pool. They slowly climbed in one at a time, and then slid around. The girls slunk down until the water was up to their necks, hoping that the water covered them fully. The boys covered themselves as they stepped in and sat down. It was then that they all noticed that the water was crystal clear, and they could see everything near perfectly. They all blushed red, as they all looked at each other. An-Jun looked for the elder dragon, but she was already gone, he thought for a few seconds.\n “We might as well sit next to each other,” he said. “If we can’t hide in the water, we might as well just see each other up close.”\n Quiet murmurs came from the others, nobody really moving, until Crystal stood up, and walked over towards An-Jun. She sat down next to him, this time, sitting up more, her flat chest exposed. The others watched as she did this and glancing at each other, they all got up and then strolled through the water and sat down next to the pair. Raja sat on the other side of An-Jun, Reiko next to Crystal, Zoe next to Raja, and then Scytale next to Reiko. Sitting next to each other, seeing each other up close and very personal, they visually explored their bodies. \n “Umm, AJ,” Raja started to ask, looking back between him and Scytale. “You are a boy right?”\n “Yes, why,” he asked back.\n “How come you don’t have a thing between your legs like Scy does,” she asked. “You look like Crystal.”\nAn-Jun blushed, “Uh, I think it’s because I’m a dragon,” he answered. “My thing is inside my slit here.” He pointed to the slit between his legs. “Something I think about dragons and lizards having their bits inside them.” He shrugged as he finished talking, the others looking at him.\n “You don’t have any bits, do you,” he asked in return.\n Raja shook her head, “Nope,” she answered. “Just a couple of holes.”\n “What,” asked Scytale.\n “Yeah,” confirmed Raja, her hands moving down between her legs. “One hole, I pee from. She looked around, not seeing anybody else in the room, and then got up, sitting on the edge of the pool. She spread her legs open, while An-Jun got up and then stood in front of her. She gently spread her netherlips open, and An-Jun leaned in to get a closer look. He noticed how pink it looked, and then after a few seconds he sees what she said.\n “I see them,” he stated, looking up at her.\n \"M-May I see,\" asked Scytale.\n Raja nodded, Scytale got up and walked over. An-Jun sat back down next to Crystal, while Scytale leaned in close to look.\n \"I see them also,\" said Scytale after a few seconds.\n He stood back up and then sat back down next to Reiko, while Raja slipped back into the pool sitting down. They sat in silence for a while until Scytale got up and walked over next to Zoe.\n “What’s up, Scy,” An-Jun asked as Scytale walked past him.\n “Zoe’s fur,” he answered, sitting down next to her, looking at her hips and legs. On her hips and outer thighs, in stark contrast to her yellowish-orange fur, is a very intricate, flowery, black patterns.\n She knew what he was looking at, “The pattern,” she asked.\n “Yeah,” Scytale answered, nodding his head, the others looking at her legs now.\n “Yeah, I don’t know either,” said Zoe, already knowing what the next question would be. “Mom and dad said that I was born with it, nobody knows what it means, or why I have it.”\n “Oh,” said Scytale. “Looks cool though, I like it.”\n Zoe looked over at him, he smiled, “Thanks, Scy,” she smiled back at him.\n They sat there talking, all of them getting over their mutual shyness of being naked. They didn’t know how long they were there, but after a while the female dragon appeared again, and walked up to the pool.\n “Seems you enjoyed the pool,” she said, looking at the group all sitting together.\n “Yeah,” they said together.\n “That’s good,” she said smiling. “However, it’s time for you to get up and dry off, and then head back up to your rooms.”\n They whined wanting to stay, but she was insistent that it was time to get out. As they finally were climbing out of the pool, she pointed out a pile of towels stacked on a shelf on the wall. The cubs walked over and picked up a towel and the proceeded to dry their fur and skin. Once dry, it was pointed out that inside the changing room is a bucket for the wet towels can go. The cubs took the towels and walked back over to the changing room. Inside they placed the towels in the bucket and then changed into their night clothes. As they were changing, Kenta came down the stairs ready to take them back up to their rooms. He stood at the foot of the stairs with the other dragon, and they chatted a little until the group walked out of the room, carrying their other clothes. They saw Kenta and walked over to him, “Did you enjoy yourselves,” he asked.\n “Yes,” they answered.\n “Good,” he commented. “Maybe you can come down here again.”\n They cheered, “Alright,” he chuckled, letting them to calm down. “But for now, it’s time that we get you back to your rooms for the night.”\n They whined, but then they yawned, showing that indeed that they were getting tired.\n Kenta smiled, “Come on,” he motioned. “Let’s go.”\n “Good night, my lord,” said the female dragon, as they headed up the stairs.\n “You too,” Kenta returned, before he disappeared around the stairs.\n After the group, climbed the stairs and then up a different set of stairs to where the living quarters are, Kenta had the group say good night to each other and had them head off to their own rooms.\nKenta walked with An-Jun, back to their own quarters.\n “Did you enjoy it,” asked Kenta, as he walked with An-Jun.\n “Yes,” nodded An-Jun.\n “Sounds like you were embarrassed,” stated Kenta.\n “At first,” said An-Jun, looking down. “Never been around the others naked.”\n “But…,” said Kenta, looking down at him.\n “But, I think we got used to it,” An-Jun added.\n Kenta nodded, “Being naked isn’t anything to be embarrassed about,” he said, as they stopped in front of their door. “Nudity is quite nice,” said Kenta, kneeling down. “Just only when your alone, or with very good friends. I don’t want to hear about you running around nude, but when in your room you can be nude. Understand?”\n “Yes, father,” answered An-Jun, then he gave another yawn.\n “Good,” smiled Kenta. “Now go say good night to your mother, and then you should go to bed.”\n “Yes, father,” said An-Jun again.\n Kenta opened the door, and they entered. Kaori asked An-Jun about his time in the bath, which he answered, he then wished her a good night. Kaori thanked him, giving him a gentle hug and a kiss on the cheek. An-Jun headed off to his own bedroom, which he put his dirty clothes away, and after turning off the lights he climbed into his bed. As he laid there thinking, he decided to see if what his father said was true, he sat up, taking off his pajamas and letting them drop onto the floor. He got back under the covers and found that it felt really nice. He gave a little murr as he yawned one last time, before falling asleep.\n A little while later, Kaori peeked her head into An-Jun’s room, checking up on him. She looked around, and found his pjs on the floor.\n “You told him about being naked,” she smiled, closing the door, and turning to Kenta.\n “Yes,” Kenta said. “After the bath, thought might as well tell him.”\n “You know that they’ll now get inquisitive,” said Kaori.\n “I know,” said Kenta. “And they’ll explore and experiment, and learn, and find out about themselves. It’s how our parents did it.”\n Kaori giggled, “Yes, they did,” she agreed, blushing as she remembered back then.\n “And it’s how we got together,” grinned Kenta, grasping Kaori’s hips, pulling her close and kissing her.\n She blushed, “Yes,” she smiled. “You think An-Jun and Crystal?”\n Kenta nodded, “I hear from her father that she likes him,” said Kenta.\n Kaori nodded, “Good,” she smiled.\n Kenta grinned and kissed Kaori again, and then he dragged her off to the bedroom. An-Jun slept as his parents had a little bit of fun in their room, and then soon the castle was quiet. Only the night watch was active as everyone else slept. The cubs will be learning a lot of new things within the next few years, about their professions, about their bodies, about themselves. House Pellicus Chapter 1
The Very Beginning – 1979 - 1985


     It’s late November, winter is starting to set in on the kingdom of Formosa. Though winter is a relative term, it only drops just below 60 degrees during the heart of winter. Kenta is slowly pacing back and forth a curtained doorway, he can hear the pained grunts and groans of a female and also the words of encouragement from another female. Kenta is an anthro-dragon with dark blue skin, and bright yellow eyes. He paused when he heard a loud roar from the room, and then a minute later, he heard the wails of a baby crying. He turned to face the doorway, waiting for the sign he can enter.
     “My lord,” came a voice from the behind the curtain. “You may enter.”
Kenta pushed the curtain aside and walked into the room. He takes a quick glance around, and sees the room is mostly empty, save for a small bed on the far wall. On that bed laid another dragon, a female with very light blue skin. At the foot of the bed, sat a female anthro-wolf, and in her arms she cradled a small bundle of towels.
     “Kenta,” said the female dragon, as Kenta walked towards the bed.
     “My lord,” said the wolf, looking behind her. She turned in the chair, showing him the bundle in her arms. “It’s a boy.”
     She held out the bundle to Kenta, he carefully took it, and cradled it in his arms. He saw the whelp’s muzzle peeking out of the towels and he carefully brushed the towel away. He looked down at the whelp, he has a darker blue skin then his mother. When the whelp opened his eyes, Kenta saw that his eyes were green, not yellow or red.
     “Kaori,” Kenta started. “His eyes are green.”
     “Just like his grandfather,” Kaori answered, smiling.
     “Oh, I thought that they would be yellow or red,” Kenta said, looking over at her.
     He walked over next to Kaori, and handed her the whelp, “So what are your thoughts about his name,” he asked her.
     She took him into her arms and looked down at him, “His name will be…,” she paused thinking. “An-Jun. His name will be An-Jun.”
     Kenta nodded, “Good name,” he agreed.
     A few minutes later, a knock came from the door jamb. Kenta looked up, and walked over to the door. He pushed aside the curtain, and looked out into the hall. He saw a tiger standing there, Kenta looked back at Kaori, she nodded and then Kenta stepped out into the hall.
     “My lord,” asked the tiger.
     “A son,” answered Kenta.
     “Very good,” returned the tiger.
     “Get the word out,” started Kenta. “The crown prince was born, and his name is An-Jun.”
     “Understood, my lord,” the tiger bowed and then headed away.

     By night came around, all of Formosa knew that the heir was born. Formosa is about a midsized island, 200 miles long and about 50 miles wide. Though it is quite far away, it’s a two day boat ride from the mainland. Kenta is now the emperor, after his father stepped down and then left for the mainland, and that was about 100 years ago. Dragons are very long lived, the eldest known dragon lived until he was 500 years old, but on average a dragon lives to about 400 years old. Now the island has a secret, the other anthro species can live just as long as dragons, when a cub reaches the age of 12, they are given a special drink and it slows down the aging process, and allows a non-dragon anthro to live to about 350-400 years. The capital of Formosa, Yasuoka is on the northern tip of the island, built around a natural harbor. From there all along the western side of the island is a string of villages and towns, ending with another large city/port on the southwestern tip. The eastern side of the island is mountainous and is mostly uninhabited, while the middle of the island is forested with the smattering of clearings made for farms and villages. There are no cars on the island as it was deemed too expensive to import them, along with all the other needs that they required; gasoline, motor oil, spare parts, the furs who live there don't mind, they get from one place to another by a few different ways. Walking is common within the towns and cities, horse and carriage is seen, while there is a railway leading from Yasuoka in the north, all the way down the coast to the south. The trains transport both goods that come in from both ports and furs headed to the different villages and cities. While it might seem like Formosa is cut off from the rest of the world, that is far from the truth. They have electricity, produced from dams placed at certain points along the many rivers that snake from the mountains through the forests to the western coasts. While it took some time, a large underwater cable was laid and connects Formosa to the mainland, through this cable came the signals for television, telephone, and the beginnings of  networks for a new technology, computers.

     “Any questions,” asked a grey dragon, looking around at the group.
     “So my dad is the ruler,” asked a 6 year old An-Jun.
     “That is correct, An-Jun,” the dragon answered, he looked over at the clock. “Hmmm, almost lunch time.”
     The dragon looked around at the small group of cubs sitting in front of him, two dragons, An-Jun and a female grey dragon, a yellow furred female bunny, a female grey wolf, a female tiger, and finally a male orange furred fox. “Alright, that’s enough for today,” said the male dragon. “Lunch should be ready soon, so why don’t you all go to the dining hall and wait.”
     “Thank you, Tai,” said the group in unison. They all got up from the floor and filed out of the small class room and started walking to the dining hall. As they walked through the hallway, windows to the outside showed that they were inside the emperor’s palace. The palace is built into the side and top of a hill, that is along side the harbor. It was also built away from the docks so it was much quieter around the palace. All the cubs were the cubs of those who either worked under Kenta or lived in the palace as staff.
     “So AJ, your dad’s the emperor,” stated the bunny girl.
     An-Jun glanced over at her, “Yeah,” agreed An-Jun.
     “So you’ll become emperor too,” asked the tiger girl.
     “Probably,” answered An-Jun
     “You will,” said the fox. “It’s like Tai said before, your grandfather gave your father the throne, that means you will too.”
     “You sure, Scy,” asked the wolf.
     “Of course, Reiko,” answered Scy.
     “Sounds like fun,” said the other dragon.
     “I..uh, don’t think so, Crystal,” returned An-Jun.
     “What do you mean, AJ,” asked Crystal.
     “Well, sometimes I can hear mom and dad talking at night,” started An-Jun. “And from what I can make out, there are things that bother dad.”
     “Like what,” asked Reiko the wolf, as the group entered the dining room.
     “Not sure,” answered An-Jun. “Couldn’t hear everything.”
     They all walked over to a table in a corner of the dining hall, set up lower for their size. They sat down in their chairs and waited for their lunch.
     “But still, must be cool,” said the bunny.
     “Kinda, Zoe,” answered An-Jun.
     “Kinda what,” asked a voice, coming from another entrance to the dining room.
     The six cubs ‘eeped’ and stiffened up, they knew who that voice belonged to. They all look towards the other side of the room and they see, Kenta walking towards them.
     “Father,” greeted An-Jun
     “My lord,” added the others in unison.
     “Cubs,” he returned. “‘Kinda what’? What were you talking about?”
     An-Jun quickly glanced at the others, “Ah, umm, we were learning about Formosa,” he answered.
     “And,” prodded Kenta.
     “Tai told us about how you became emperor,” continued An-Jun. “That grandfather stepped down and let you have it.”
     “That is correct,” said Kenta.
     “Scytale said that you would do the same thing,” said An-Jun, looking over at the fox.
     “And he is right,” said Kenta. “When the time is right, I’ll step down and then you’ll become emperor.”
     “See, told yah, AJ,” said Scytale.
     “Yeah,” nodded An-Jun.
     Kenta looked over at Scytale, then back at An-Jun. “AJ,” he asked.
     “Ahh, umm, heh,” An-Jun nervously chuckled. “Nickname.”
     “I see,” said Kenta, then looked at the other cubs. “So instead of calling him An-Jun, you call him AJ.”
     A series of ‘Yeahs’ and ‘Uh huhs’ came from the others, while Kenta nodded. “So do any of you have nicknames,” he asked.
     “Um, I go by ‘Scy’,” answered Scytale.
     “‘Crys’,” added Crystal. “But that’s cause Tai calls me that too.”
     “Ah, yes, Tai Yasuda,” nodded Kenta. “He is your older brother.”
     “Yes,” Crystal nodded.
     “And also your instructor,” Kenta added.
     Seconds later, they all heard a door open, and Kenta looked up, seeing a staff member pushing a cart. “Seems your lunch is ready,” stated Kenta. “I will see you all later?”
     “Yes, father,” said An-Jun.
     “Yes, my lord,” added the others.
     Kenta started to walk away, nodding to the server, who greeted him. He then turned and started to walk out a third doorway and to another part of the palace. The server pushed his cart up to the table where the cubs were seated, greeted them, and then proceeded to place food on the table. There were sandwiches, baby carrots, celery, apple slices, grapes, and other fruits, and finally fruit juice and water. The cubs thanked him, and he nodded and then went back through the doorway he came in from, back into the kitchen.
     “You think your dad is angry with us,” asked the tiger girl, once the server was gone.
     “Don’t think so, Raja,” answered An-Jun. “Surprised maybe, but not angry.”
     “What do you think he’s gonna do,” Raja asked.
     “Nothing really,” answered An-Jun, picking up a sandwich and putting it on his plate. “He’ll still call us by our names, and let us use our nicknames.”
     “Oh okay,” said Raja, getting her own sandwich.
     The cubs all started to add food to their plates, and ate, talking about small things, cartoons, toys and other kid things. After a while, Tai came walking in and grabbed a chair from the main table and slid it over to the cubs’ table.
     “How’s lunch,” he asked, sitting down at one end of the table.
     The cubs answered with ‘good’ between bites of food. Tai started to explain that after they finish their lunch, they would end up having to split up and go their different ways for the rest of the day. The cubs whined, they wanted to go play together, however, they weren’t going to win, Tai was insistent on what was planned for their afternoon. The cubs relented, stopping their whining, and finished up their lunches. After they were done, Tai had them split up and go in their respective ways. Tai took his sister and headed off on their own way, An-Jun went out the same door his father did a little while ago, while the other four went back the way they came towards the classroom and then off on their own things that was set up for them.

     That evening the cubs were reunited for dinner, they took their seats at their table, while their parents sat at the large table in the middle of the hall. The sounds of conversations carried throughout the dining room, mostly everybody was talking about minor things, how their day went, while the cubs talked about what happened after lunch, and they had to go their separate ways. They discovered that they will be learning new things beyond their normal schooling, Crystal will learn to be a shamanistic healer, Zoe a servant but also a masseuse and body therapy, Reiko is to become a tailor, Raja will learn about the mainland as she will follow her father as a diplomat, and finally Scytale is going to be an apprentice smith. Of course, An-Jun would learn what it would be to be an emperor, but he is also to learn self-defense martial arts. Though they wouldn’t get to play with each other as much anymore, they would still have the weekends to get together. Dinner went by followed by dessert, and after everybody was done, and the tables cleared off, Kenta walked over to the cubs.
     “How was your dinner,” he asked.
     They answered saying that it was good, and enjoyed it, all while Kenta nodded and smiled.
     “That’s good to hear,” he said. “I request that all of you go to the bath house downstairs and go get your baths down there.”
     The cubs all looked at each other, “Are you sure, father,” asked An-Jun. “You said that it was off limits until we are older.” The others nodded in agreement with him.
     “True, I did,” answered Kenta. “But I can also make an exception. And I would like you all to go.”
     The cubs looked at each other unsure and also embarrassed, the thing that they heard was that the bath wasn’t separated for boys and girls, like the two that were up in the living quarters.
     “If that’s what you want,” said An-Jun, looking at the others. “We’ll go.”
     “Thank you,” said Kenta. “You will all enjoy it. Be at the stairs down in an hour, with a change of clothes, alright?”
     “Yes,” answered the cubs together.
     With that, Kenta walked away and then it was announced that everyone was dismissed. Everybody got up and headed off in their separate directions, the cubs agreed to meet at the stairs to the bath house in an hour, and then followed their parents out of the dining hall and to their rooms.
     About 45 minutes later, the cubs met at the stairs and waited for Kenta to show up. They were chatting amongst themselves, when Kenta appeared, walking up the staircase.
     “Ready to go,” he asked, standing at the top step.
     The group all nodded their heads, “Good, then come on,” Kenta said, motioning for them to follow. They followed him down the stairs and as they turned a corner they felt the warm, moist air from the bath, wash over them. They saw at the bottom of the stairs a female dragon attendant was waiting for them, “My lord,” she greeted Kenta. As the cubs reached the bottom of the stairs, they stopped and waited. They quickly looked around the bath house, and found at one end a huge steaming soaking pool shaped and designed to look like a natural pond. Just past the pool, the wall was floor to ceiling glass windows, and looked out over the harbor. On the other side from the stairs sat stations where one would wash themselves, mirrors, a shower wand, and holders for shampoo, soap and conditioner, but each station had an attendant sitting on a stool watching the group of cubs.
     “And these are the ‘guests’ you talked about earlier,” she asked.
     “Yes,” nodded Kenta, turning to stand next to her, looking at the group. “After talking with their parents, they agreed that these cubs deserve something nice. So a bit of pampering is in order.”
     “Very well,” said the attendant, looking over the cubs. “If you would follow me please?”
     The cubs glanced at Kenta, who just nodded, they followed the other dragon, each carrying a change of clothes. The female dragon lead the cubs over to the other side of the bath house, away from the pool, to a room. As they walked away, Kenta turned and headed back up the stairs, mentally noting when he should come back to get the cubs. She stopped at the doorway, “Please change in here,” she said smiling at the group. “You’ll find spots for all your clothes in here.”
     They peeked in and saw that it was one giant room, with no privacy for them. “Do we have to,” asked Reiko, with a quiet whimper.
     “Yes, please,” nodded the dragon. “Here boys and girls are mixed, no separation like the normal baths upstairs.”
     “So please,” she said again, motion for them to enter.
     They hesitated, but after a couple of seconds, An-Jun entered, soon followed by Crystal. Not wanting to be left behind, the other four cubs entered also. Inside the changing room, An-Jun and Scytale took one side while the other four girls where on the other side, their backs to each other so they couldn’t see each other’s privates. After a couple of minutes, An-Jun asked the girls if it was okay for them to go out first, they answered yes. An-Jun and Scytale exited first, covering themselves as the dragon was standing there waiting for them. She smiled, giggling to herself at the two boys, “You two please go to the first two attendants,” she said pointing over to the stations.
They looked over seeing that they were both girls, they were going to complain, but noticed that all the attendants were girls, they both blushed and slowly walked over to the attendants. As they walked over, the girls came out, they too were covering themselves, in embarrassment. The dragon motioned them to the other four stations, next to the boys. They quickly headed over to the others, and sat down into the stool. Once each cub was seated, the attendant at the station, knowing that the cubs are nervous about their nudity, placed a small towel in their lap covering up their privates. While they were covered up, they still felt embarrassed, but the female dragon walked up behind them.
     “Just relax,” she said. “Unlike the baths upstairs, were you bathe yourself, we’re the ones that will wash and take care of you.”
     With that, she walked away, and then the attendants turned on the wand shower heads and then washed the cubs down. Both An-Jun and Crystal being dragons, don’t have fur, they have a leather-like skin. After the group was all wet, the attendants turned off the water, and reached for the fur shampoo, while it was a special soap for the two dragon whelps. Each attendant then soaped up the cubs, scrubbing and rubbing their fur and skin. At the beginning the cubs were wary feeling hands rub over them, but as the lather built up, and their fur and skin were scrubbed, they relaxed and started to enjoy the attention. They were fully soaped up, from head to tail, and much to the embarrassment of the cubs, and their privates. They didn’t protest, but they all blushed when the attendant reached under the towel and cleaned them there. Once each cub was all cleaned up, they were rinsed off and scrubbed again. As they were getting the soap washed off, the older female dragon walked up waiting until they were all rinsed off. After they the soap was washed away and the cubs all clean, she spoke up, “Did you all enjoy that,” she asked.
     The cubs all nodded in agreement, “Good to hear,” she said, acknowledging them. “Now it’s off to the pool with you.” They looked over at the pool, then they realized, there is no separation and they would all be able to see each other.
     “Yes, you will,” answered the dragon, already knowing their question. “But you it is required.”
     The cubs defeated, got up and then headed over to the pool. They slowly climbed in one at a time, and then slid around. The girls slunk down until the water was up to their necks, hoping that the water covered them fully. The boys covered themselves as they stepped in and sat down. It was then that they all noticed that the water was crystal clear, and they could see everything near perfectly. They all blushed red, as they all looked at each other. An-Jun looked for the elder dragon, but she was already gone, he thought for a few seconds.
     “We might as well sit next to each other,” he said. “If we can’t hide in the water, we might as well just see each other up close.”
     Quiet murmurs came from the others, nobody really moving, until Crystal stood up, and walked over towards An-Jun. She sat down next to him, this time, sitting up more, her flat chest exposed. The others watched as she did this and glancing at each other, they all got up and then strolled through the water and sat down next to the pair. Raja sat on the other side of An-Jun, Reiko next to Crystal, Zoe next to Raja, and then Scytale next to Reiko. Sitting next to each other, seeing each other up close and very personal, they visually explored their bodies.
     “Umm, AJ,” Raja started to ask, looking back between him and Scytale. “You are a boy right?”
     “Yes, why,” he asked back.
     “How come you don’t have a thing between your legs like Scy does,” she asked. “You look like Crystal.”
An-Jun blushed, “Uh, I think it’s because I’m a dragon,” he answered. “My thing is inside my slit here.” He pointed to the slit between his legs. “Something I think about dragons and lizards having their bits inside them.” He shrugged as he finished talking, the others looking at him.
     “You don’t have any bits, do you,” he asked in return.
     Raja shook her head, “Nope,” she answered. “Just a couple of holes.”
     “What,” asked Scytale.
     “Yeah,” confirmed Raja, her hands moving down between her legs. “One hole, I pee from.      “Yeah, I don’t know either,” said Zoe, already knowing what the next question would be. “Mom and dad said that I was born with it, nobody knows what it means, or why I have it.”
     “Oh,” said Scytale. “Looks cool though, I like it.”
     Zoe looked over at him, he smiled, “Thanks, Scy,” she smiled back at him.
     They sat there talking, all of them getting over their mutual shyness of being naked. They didn’t know how long they were there, but after a while the female dragon appeared again, and walked up to the pool.
     “Seems you enjoyed the pool,” she said, looking at the group all sitting together.
     “Yeah,” they said together.
     “That’s good,” she said smiling. “However, it’s time for you to get up and dry off, and then head back up to your rooms.”
     They whined wanting to stay, but she was insistent that it was time to get out. As they finally were climbing out of the pool, she pointed out a pile of towels stacked on a shelf on the wall. The cubs walked over and picked up a towel and the proceeded to dry their fur and skin. Once dry, it was pointed out that inside the changing room is a bucket for the wet towels can go. The cubs took the towels and walked back over to the changing room. Inside they placed the towels in the bucket and then changed into their night clothes. As they were changing, Kenta came down the stairs ready to take them back up to their rooms. He stood at the foot of the stairs with the other dragon, and they chatted a little until the group walked out of the room, carrying their other clothes. They saw Kenta and walked over to him, “Did you enjoy yourselves,” he asked.
     “Yes,” they answered.
     “Good,” he commented. “Maybe you can come down here again.”
     They cheered, “Alright,” he chuckled, letting them to calm down. “But for now, it’s time that we get you back to your rooms for the night.”
     They whined, but then they yawned, showing that indeed that they were getting tired.
     Kenta smiled, “Come on,” he motioned. “Let’s go.”
     “Good night, my lord,” said the female dragon, as they headed up the stairs.
     “You too,” Kenta returned, before he disappeared around the stairs.
     After the group, climbed the stairs and then up a different set of stairs to where the living quarters are, Kenta had the group say good night to each other and had them head off to their own rooms.
Kenta walked with An-Jun, back to their own quarters.
     “Did you enjoy it,” asked Kenta, as he walked with An-Jun.
     “Yes,” nodded An-Jun.
     “Sounds like you were embarrassed,” stated Kenta.
     “At first,” said An-Jun, looking down. “Never been around the others naked.”
     “But…,” said Kenta, looking down at him.
     “But, I think we got used to it,” An-Jun added.
     Kenta nodded, “Being naked isn’t anything to be embarrassed about,” he said, as they stopped in front of their door. “Nudity is quite nice,” said Kenta, kneeling down. “Just only when your alone, or with very good friends. I don’t want to hear about you running around nude, but when in your room you can be nude. Understand?”
     “Yes, father,” answered An-Jun, then he gave another yawn.
     “Good,” smiled Kenta. “Now go say good night to your mother, and then you should go to bed.”
     “Yes, father,” said An-Jun again.
     Kenta opened the door, and they entered. Kaori asked An-Jun about his time in the bath, which he answered, he then wished her a good night. Kaori thanked him, giving him a gentle hug and a kiss on the cheek. An-Jun headed off to his own bedroom, which he put his dirty clothes away, and after turning off the lights he climbed into his bed. As he laid there thinking, he decided to see if what his father said was true, he sat up, taking off his pajamas and letting them drop onto the floor. He got back under the covers and found that it felt really nice. He gave a little murr as he yawned one last time, before falling asleep.
     A little while later, Kaori peeked her head into An-Jun’s room, checking up on him. She looked around, and found his pjs on the floor.
     “You told him about being naked,” she smiled, closing the door, and turning to Kenta.
     “Yes,” Kenta said. “After the bath, thought might as well tell him.”
     “You know that they’ll now get inquisitive,” said Kaori.
     “I know,” said Kenta. “And they’ll explore and experiment, and learn, and find out about themselves. It’s how our parents did it.”
     Kaori giggled, “Yes, they did,” she agreed, blushing as she remembered back then.
     “And it’s how we got together,” grinned Kenta, grasping Kaori’s hips, pulling her close and kissing her.
     She blushed, “Yes,” she smiled. “You think An-Jun and Crystal?”
     Kenta nodded, “I hear from her father that she likes him,” said Kenta.
     Kaori nodded, “Good,” she smiled.
     Kenta grinned and kissed Kaori again, and then he dragged her off to the bedroom. An-Jun slept as his parents had a little bit of fun in their room, and then soon the castle was quiet. Only the night watch was active as everyone else slept. The cubs will be learning a lot of new things within the next few years, about their professions, about their bodies, about themselves. The whole world stands in front of them, waiting, and they will explore what they can.
