that plush character design commission, among what I pitched was a thylacine/wallaby pair. They weren't ultimately chosen, so I asked to keep them for my own, as they were really fun to draw and I didn't feel 'done' with them yet. I don't actually have plushie OCs at the moment that aren't Neopets, and I had never considered folding my hobby of collecting vintage plush into my love for plushie characters. I think a lot of the design aesthetics associated with 'plushie OC' aren't very compatible with the style of plush I like, somehow ? that it will not 'read well'? But I am quite the fan so... screw it! \n\nI'd also like to draw these 3 as 'real' animals just as well... all around a combination I want to see!!\n\nthe pointless personal babble:\n\nTheir names are \"Bloom\" the Thylacine, \"Plume\" the Wallaby, and \"Spoon\" the Aardvark(?). \n\nPlume and Bloom are primarily stuffed with a soft but heavy wool, more densely packed into their legs for stability, with a looser, light stuffing in their bodies. If you opened them up, this material would be a soft light brown shade. They are a delicate soft mohair.\n\nSpoon is a mixture, with a heavy, densely stuffed body, a creative and cost-effective mixture of woodwool and standard wool, but nutshells stuffing his legs and tail, giving him a robust base to 'stand' on and plenty of weight/heft to roll around. The nutshells can displace. If grabbing his limbs, you would hear the crunch and crackle of the shells rubbing roughly against one another. His fur is thick.\n\nTheir general 'lore' at the moment is that 'Spoon' was the plush of a spoiled, but terminally ill girl. Given her short prognosis she was lavished with many things, no holds barred, as there would be no consequence and was no reason to not. Anything so expensive could be sold back soon enough. Among them was a large window-display Aardvark plush she admired. Something never meant to be loved and cuddled at all-- something meant to get dusty and sunbleached in a window until languishing in a warehouse. His make was, as a result, extremely decadent and unique.\n\nShe liked to spoon him, so he was nicknamed 'Spoon'. He is a hefty thing-- similar in size to a real-life Aardvark, maybe even a touch bigger! \n\nWhen the little girl neared her time, something inside of her beloved plush altered... listening to her heartbeat every day, feeling her body's wax and wane of hot and cold, he knew her inside and out. Whatever it was that possessed him in such a way as to make his own thoughts manifest, he managed to use to tether her still-pulsing body into the forms of a few plush in her room.\n\nAmong bits and pieces of other things, Bloom contains a lung, expanding and deflating in her body cavity amidst the fluff,\nwhile Plume contains, among other bits, her heart, giving her body a steady, visible 'beat'.\nBoth are threaded through with flowing arteries.\n\n.... the end result though is simply 3 animated plush living in a(n externally) dilapidating mansion. Spoon's capabilities have transformed the space into something different.... textiles cover the walls, pillows and blankets bunch and gather like natural masses, until it is hardly recognizable as a 'house' on its inside. Defined chiefly by maroon reds, emerald greens, and rich purples, with golden tassels and embroidery abound. An overgrown garden is seen out the windows, and sometimes traipsed through.\n\nThe three have a good and fun time together. None have the ability to talk.\n\nBloom the Thylacine is a more rambunctious personality, her long legs really spinning and flopping all about. She likes to get into trouble and climb everywhere she can.\nPlume the Wallaby is curious and intrigued by things, but cautious and observant in nature. While Bloom has to explore things by biting or batting them, Plume is inclined to quietly sit and watch. \nBut both like to play childish games like hide-and-seek or have a tea party! \n\nSpoon naturally moves very slowly, as a result of the heavy weight of the nutshells in his limbs. For every 10 steps his girls take, he takes 1. But he loves to play, and looks after them considerately, always doling out smooches and hugs, sometimes bowling them over or laying on them when he'd like them to calm down. \n","description_bbcode_parsed":"<span style='word-wrap: break-word;'>from that plush character design commission, among what I pitched was a thylacine/wallaby pair.
