So, now we gotta figure out our next move..." he said, turning toward Tails' Workshop, a quiet place they could go to think and discuss everything. Axel watched Roxas, and gave a sigh as he reached a decision. "Look, Roxas, I'll... I'll help you." he offered. Roxas glanced back at him skeptically, and Axel crossed his arms, looking away. "I talked to Isa...err, Saix. He pointed out what a jealous jerk I've been. He would know..." he murmured, "So I... I'm sorry, alright? I didn't mean for this to get to Vanitas when I told Ven!" he said. Roxas nodded. "Let's get Tails back... Then we can talk about forgiveness..." he said, much too worried to debate it. And rightfully so...

Within the realm of darkness, Tails struggled to fend off the shadows themselves, dark energies attempting to corrupt and consume his heart. It was all part of Vanitas' plan... His consumed heart would become a Heartless, and his remaining body would become a Nobody. What from there? Vanitas had given no indication of what would come next, but Tails did his best to resist anything the villain tried. "All I have to do... Is h-hold on until Roxas gets here!" he shouted, shrugging off the dark energy as he thought of his beloved blonde. Vanitas watched him, a smug smirk crossing his lips. "Ohh, I need to hurry up then, is that it?" he asked, stepping through the darkness towards the fox. He cracked his knuckles and licked his lips, smirking. "Well, I believe there is one sure way to fill your heart with darkness and split you into Heartless and Nobody..." he sneered. Tails tried to back up, and bumped into a wall within the darkness. His eyes trailed over Vanitas' muscular form as he approached, and he gulped, noticing a definite bulge in the crotch area. He shook his head. "No way! I-I won't...let you!" he stammered. Shadow stood in the corner, listening silently, his eyes glancing between Axel and Roxas thoughtfully. Sora tried to cheer up the blonde. "Hey, we'll figure out a way in! We rescued Aqua from the Realm of Darkness, isn't that right, Ven?" he said, looking to Ventus. "Ahh... I was asleep, remember?" Ven sighed. Sora chuckled sheepishly, and his childishness in the face of such a difficult situation was getting Roxas frustrated. "Enough! I... I need to be alone for a while! Sorry, thanks for trying, guys..." he said, holding himself back just in time to avoid taking his anger out on his friends. He left to enter Tails' bedroom, but Shadow started to follow him. "Hey, he said..." Sonic started. "I know what he needs..." the dark hedgehog huffed. This left Sonic alone with the awkward group of Sora, Ven and Axel. "Sooo... Wanna tell me about these Guardians of Light or any of that backstory?" the hedgehog asked. "Hoboy... It's pretty long, and I'm not sure I got it all memorized..." Axel sighed.

Roxas was leaned down over the bed, hugging Tails' pillow close to his chest. "What do I do? How do I save you?" he whispered, his eyes welling up with tears. "I know how to awaken the darkness. That's what we need, isn't it? In order to reach a dark world, we must embrace darkness itself..." he said, forcefully planting a hand on Roxas' shoulder. The blonde pulled away, but Shadow maintained his grip. "What...what is it you're saying?" he stammered. Shadow's mouth twisted into a small, perverted smile. "I'll create the darkness we need... There's more of him to go around now!" he said, his eyes wild as he gave a sadistic smile. Roxas struck against him, clashing Keyblade against Keyblade, shouting in his rage! "How could you!? For all we know, he's become a Dusk!!" he cried, forcing Vanitas back toward the wall! Despite being seemingly trapped, the dark haired boy didn't seem at all concerned. "Ah, that's a good point. After all, his heart was awfully weak! But at least he'll stop holding any sway over my heart or Ven's!" he snickered. Shadow clenched his fist. "For what you've done... I can't let you walk away!" he growled. Vanitas smirked at the duo, giving a strong slash with his Keyblade that Roxas leapt back to avoid! "Alright then. If you want to punish me, I'll give you both a fair shot... But really, you've only yourself to blame, Roxas!" he sneered. It was two against one, but Vanitas was quite the skilled opponent according to Ventus. Their battle may be difficult...

In order to keep Shadow out of his way, Vanitas called upon the Heartless for aid, the black hedgehog finding himself grabbed up in the massive arms of a Darkside! "Stay out of this!" Shadow growled, warping out of the monster's grip and falling from above to kick it in the head! Meanwhile, Vanitas was pushing Roxas back with powerful blows from his blade, keeping the Nobody on the defense! "Come on, Roxie! Where's all that rage? Take your vengeance on me!!" he shouted, taunting his foe as ever. Roxas growled, materializing the Oathkeeper Keyblade in his free hand and crossing his blades together to catch Vanitas' key as it slammed down toward him! He started to push back, glaring at the dark haired boy. "You...don't get to call me...Roxie!" he shouted. Vanitas raised an eyebrow, and pulled back as Roxas slashed both Keyblades towards him furiously! Collecting dark energy in his free hand, Vanitas fired a blast that Roxas had to block with his Keyblades again, but it only slowed him down! "Sloppy..." the villain sneered, raising his blade to parry Roxas' strikes. When Roxas' blades bounced off his, Vanitas took the brief opening to leap up behind him, driving his Keyblade down towards him! "Farewell!!" he shouted, only to be struck a moment before impact by a speeding black ball! Vanitas stumbled over, climbing onto his knee to see Shadow there, scoffing at him. Then, Roxas took advantage of the opening, and sped towards Vanitas, crying out in rage as he slashed him with his blades! Vanitas was knocked upward, landing on his back. Shadows started to consume his body. "Heh... Too bad... Throwing a tantrum didn't bring him back." Vanitas grunted as he faded away. Roxas looked to Shadow with tears in his eyes. "Come on." the hedgehog sighed, "We'd better not stay here..."


An old mansion nestled past a spooky forest. People would say this house was haunted. The latest visitor had no idea about that, though. In fact, this visitor had no idea about anything, as his hands rested against the gate outside, looking curiously at the building, tilting his head. He was trying to remember. Why was he here? How did he come to be here? Most importantly...what was his name? After a short time, he let out a sigh and shook his head, turning away from the building. "I...don't know this place." he concluded, starting to slowly walk away. He only had fragments of memories. "A scattered dream that's like a far-off memory... a far-off memory that's like a scattered dream..." he murmured, his two fluffy tails swaying behind him as he walked, "I want to line the pieces up... yours and mine." There was a face in his mind, one that kept popping in as he tried to piece together his memories. A blonde haired boy with a warm, friendly smile. The fox stopping walking for a brief moment, looking up at the orange, twilit sky with his hand resting on his chest. ".....Ro...Roxas..." he said softly.
