Beating the Nightmare

It was the Halloween season, and being in the mood for creepy fun, Tails found himself searching for scary games to play, when he came across a fan-project based around his friends... Sonic.exe. "Hah, I'm not scared! I'll figure out how to beat this!" he declared, and started to play in the dark of the night. However, he was not prepared for this game. Again and again, the nightmarish, bloody-eyed Sonic.exe hunted him down, murdering his in-game self and causing him to freak out and restart. Again and again, he tried to get his in-game self out alive, but no matter how long he tried, he couldn't find an escape. The night grew late, and soon he was forced to give it up. "Aaaahh, shoot... What is wrong with the person who made this game??" he said with a yawn as he turned off his computer, the room becoming dark without the monitor's light. He shivered in the dark, and frantically stumbled in search of his flashlight. "W-wow, it's late... I gotta get to bed..." he said tiredly, looking around a bit nervously as he made his way through his house to the bedroom. He tried to collect his thoughts. It was just a game, right? Sonic would never be possessed and turned into a crazy killer. That's completely insane. He assured himself of this fact, but still found himself pulling the blankets tight around himself as he climbed into bed, as if those blankets would conceal him from danger. If he hadn't been so tired, he might have been unable to fall asleep. Since he did in fact drift off, he was treated to the first of many nightmares. In the weeks leading to Halloween, these nightmares would be relentless, as Sonic.exe stalked him again and again each night...

At first, the nightmares were very reminiscent of the game, with Tails running for his life through a warped version of Green Hill, only for Sonic.exe to always ultimately corner him, and strike to kill him, which would cause the fox to awaken in a cold sweat. That would be bad enough, but his body needed the sleep, while at the same time being unable to stop these dreams, so his subconscious came to a compromise. The first dream in this compromise found Tails stumbling over, crying out for mercy as Exe stood over him. The hedgehog gave a demonic smile, and rather than killing him this time, pinned Tails down, and tilted the fox's head to look at his crotch, which sported a massive boner! "Wh-what the? As Halloween neared, the dreams became more surreal and frightening. Eventually, as Tails fled from Exe, he found himself running straight into a mass of tentacles, which grabbed him up and restrained him as he screamed and strained against the shadowy black tendrils! Sonic.exe laughed, watching as the tentacles pulled the fox's limbs outstretched, and snaked around his body, teasing his chest, coiling around his own fox dick. "S-stop it, ahh! S-sonic, please, h-help me!" he sobbed, knowing there was only one form of "help" he was likely to get. Exe approached, the tentacles holding Tails in place nicely for him. "I'll help you, bro... This time, it almost seemed like he was actually feeling it fully, as well, the dreams having become so common that Tails' mind gave him the sensation of being penetrated! Tails awoke with a terrible scream as lightning struck outside his window, and he threw off his blanket and climbed out of bed. "No more! I... I can't sleep anymore!" he cried, turning on the light and sobbing.


As Halloween night arrived, Sonic was fully aware of the issues Tails had been having by now. The fox had confided in him, and of course Sonic assured him that it was just a game, and he'd never hurt Tails, but the dreams had persisted. "I'm super worried about him, Knux... Super worried..." he told the echidna as he stopped by Angel Island for a visit. Knuckles stared at him. "I'm worried about YOU. Why are your eyes bleeding??" he stammered. Sonic chuckled softly. "It's makeup. I'm Sonic.exe!" he stated. Knuckles raised an eyebrow. "Pretty insensitive costume choice, isn't it?" he murmured. Sonic gave a wicked laugh. "Well, it IS Halloween. How can I pass up such an easy scare? Besides, when he sees it's me, maybe he'll get over the whole thing." he stated. Knuckles crossed his arms, shaking his head. "Nope, you're just being an ass. And you're gonna scare the shit outta Cream, too!" he stated. That could be an issue, with his recent night terrors, there was no way Tails would go out on Halloween night alone. Sonic shrugged. "Ehh, I'll work it out. Have a good night just...sitting here... Do you ever get Trick or Treaters?" he asked, shrugging as he sped on his way. Knuckles let out a sigh. "Weeeell, night's young. There's always a chance for a certain bat to come by for a trick..." he said to himself, starting to smirk at the thought.

Indeed, Tails had gone out Trick or Treating with Cream and Charmy. After all, there was safety in numbers. Charmy was dressed as a devious little imp, while Cream was a princess, and Tails was dashingly dressed as a swashbuckling pirate. The trio were having a pretty good night gathering candy, but Tails certainly did seem on edge as they walked. He hadn't gone into detail about his dreams with Cream or Charmy, but they were aware he was having rough nights. "Relax, Tails, you're safe with us." Cream said sweetly, Cheese chirping cutely as he flew beside her. Tails was glancing over his shoulder, and he chuckled awkwardly. "I-I know that, sorry. It's just, it's so dark out, a-and well, y-you know..." he stammered. Charmy smirked, buzzing behind him quickly. "Boo!! Haha!" he laughed, making Tails jump just a little bit, but he kinda expected this behavior from the immature bee. "Yeah, thanks for your sensitivity, Charmy..." he groaned. "Don't be so mean!" Cream scolded him. Charmy gave her a sheepish grin. "C'mon, it's Halloween! You gotta get into the spirit!" he told them. Tails knew that, and tried to relax his nerves. "I'm fine, I'm fine... Let's keep going..." he sighed. However, a loud sound nearby frightened the fox and caused him to start running off screaming, his pirate hat falling off and landing at Cream's feet! "Tails, wait!" Cream called, glancing for the source of the noise to find an animatronic Halloween display across the street springing to life, complete with recorded sinister laughter. "Don't worry, he'll be okay, Cream..." Charmy told her. The rabbit frowned, picking up his hat. "I hope so..." she murmured.

The fear-mad fox had run away from the light of the city, and found himself catching his breath in a truly dark, wooded area. The leafless trees around him looked dead, and his fur started to stand on end as Tails realized he was all alone out here. "Real smart, Tails. Now no one will hear me scream..." he gulped, turning around slowly, his eyes nervously checking the shadows around him, watching for sudden movements. His heart thumped in his chest, and he took a deep breath, trying to relax. "They were just dreams, Tails. You're fine. Nothing's g-gonna hurt you..." he murmured, starting to slowly head back. However, he stopped suddenly, swearing he heard something. His ears pricked up, listening. It was footsteps, he was sure of it. The fox gulped hard. "S-stop it, Charmy... I'm serious!" he stammered. But as he looked around, there was no sign of the bee. No sign of Cream. Not anybody. Tails wondered if his ears had played tricks on him. "Forget it, Tails. Just hurry back...and stop talking in the third person." he murmured. However, something sped from tree to tree behind him, the sound of motion unmistakable! Tails spun around, and he heard a sinister cackling. "N-no, you're...not real!" Tails stammered. The speedy footsteps dashed behind the fox again, accompanied by more evil laughter. Tails turned quickly, and thought he caught a glimpse of someone escaping into the shadows. "S-stay back! I-I'm warning you!" he stammered. It was then that a blue ball came falling from high above, uncurling in front of the fox as "Sonic.exe" roared menacingly at him! Tails screamed, but then he did something more unexpected. He lunged at the hedgehog in a desperate action, knocking him onto his back and pinning him down! "You won't take me, monster!! You won't take me!!" he shouted, holding Sonic to the ground forcefully as he tried to push back, only to find the wind had been knocked out of him!

Tails panted heavily as he held Sonic down, his heart racing. Sonic pushed back, only to cause Tails to hold him down more firmly, the fear response preventing him from letting his friend up. He couldn't think rationally in the moment. His crotch pressed against Sonic's groin, the fox using his weight to keep the hedgehog pinned. "Y-you...can't contain me!" he huffed in a challenging tone, struggling to sit up as Tails held his wrists! He was really trying, too...but Tails was surprising him with his strength!
