A Retrospective - Part 4.5

I decided while writing the 5th part that I would situate this part in-between. Part 4.5. This one focuses on spin-off stories which are mostly technically still canon. Stick with me to the end here, and maybe there'll be some XXX goodness for ya...or not much of anything. I dunno.


BIT SQUAD: BEYOND THE 4TH WALL

I'll start by noting that there is no cut content for this series, it was always more of an off the cuff sort of operation where I just went where I was inspired to go, for the most part. I wanna more answer why I was ever possessed to write a story starring 2BIT... It was because I was dodging questions from people wanting to know more about him. But I didn't have a set-in-stone canon for the character...not until this series.

Each member of the squad represents an aspect of myself. 2BIT himself is kind of an idealized version of my actual personality; 8BIT is my dark side (also kinda idealized, honestly); Cupie is my positive self, Dusk my negativity, Blocky represents "memory," Stripes is my work ethic (and therefore a sleepy dude because when it comes to REAL work, I am laaaazy), Zed is my artistic side, Vixy is my "feminine side" (and therefore a tomboy because I don't really have a feminine side I'm aware of), Dogson is my nostalgia (being representative of my 4-year-old self's idea of an OC), and Gator represents my inner child. He's also not actually one of 2BIT's selves, unlike the rest of the squad. I don't have an origin for Gator.

This series itself was intended as a comedy, but I don't really know about my sense of humor, honestly. In addition, I had trouble coming up with ideas for this series, but it still ran for 22 sfw episodes and 18 nsfw episodes.

For my part, my weirdly favorite episode was probably the "Easter Fools" episode, which had some references to memes & creepypastas and seemingly ends with everyone dying or something like that... It sticks out to me just for how damn weird it is. I won't comment on a favorite adult chapter; several of them were requests. Frankly, I never really re-read any of them anyway.

This series spun off into "So Much More," which was supposed to be a serious story of 2BIT helping an abused version of Tails through his trauma. But I couldn't keep such a serious subject going for long, so I decided to shift into something more BIT Squad-like with travels to other worlds. And then after starting on that, I decided to end the Tails arc by the end of this year. Assuming I get to continue the series, it'll become a proper BIT Squad series next, but less comedy-centric and more adventure/nsfw centered.

I picked the title "So Much More" based on the song from Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing, a very inspirational song, in my opinion.

Okay, that's enough of this. I know no one cares about this series anyway. Moving on!


CHAOS HEARTS

I was attempting to create Chaos Hearts from the beginning, waaay back in 2006. I don't think I quite realized it at the time, but I've come to love Kingdom Hearts just about as much as Sonic. But as I was starting the GeneX series, I found putting together this series at the same time to be too much. My first attempt got about 3 chapters in before I cancelled the series. Those chapters are still buried somewhere on FA. At any rate, my original plan for the series would have involved a Mobian version of Organization 13, and saw Lucky visiting worlds based on all the Sonic TV shows. Part of that idea became the Dimensional Clash special I wrote for Sonic's 25th anniversary.

I brought the series back shortly after Sonic Forces/Infinite Crisis. I decided to limit it to 13 chapters, and I set it during the events of Kingdom Hearts 3 even though the game wasn't out yet as I started writing & posting it. It hardly mattered, because Lucky's story didn't really cross over with the main Kingdom Hearts plot beyond some cameos. But because I did set it during Kingdom Hearts' plot, it limited what I could do with the Disney worlds. I wanted to avoid stepping on Sora's toes, present and future, which was why I avoided addressing the movie plot for Wreck-it Ralph, had Nick and Judy as kids for Zootopia, and used a time travel premise to visit a handful of extra worlds.

I was still drawing at the time, so I had fun designing Lucky and Tails' alternate forms in the worlds of Pokemon, Halloweentown and Atlantica. Deciding to use Anti-Tails (or "Miles") from the Archie comics also made the story pretty fun for me. I wonder if anyone saw Miles' heel turn coming? (or his redemption?)

It ended up being a very simplified plot compared to what I originally envisioned. But I liked how it came out. There is a hefty amount of notes I have saved for the original version of the story, but it's a lot to share, honestly. There is a 2006 preview for the story that I'm unsure I ever posted, don't think I did. I'll share that, it's kind of like...what if Lucky were to be introduced during Kingdom Hearts 1, I guess...



Lucky the Cat gazed out at the stars. He had never seen anything so beautiful, and in fact, was only just now beginning to become aware of beauty. Despite the darkness he was born into, he found himself smiling. Maybe this world wasn't so bad, after all. Bucky seemed to genuinely care for him and the other experiments, and although they seemed scary at first, Team GeneX was really a nice bunch.

As he gazed at the stars, though, he suddenly noticed something strange. Stars were rapidly blinking out! What could be behind this strange occurance? He suddenly heard the voice of Copter behind him. "Lucky! I hope you're ready to fight, because it looks like we've got company!" Lucky looked to Copter, who was pointing down below. Swarms of shadowy creatures were heading their way through the Mystic Ruins. "What are they?" Lucky murmured. "Whatever they are, they picked a bad time to visit!" Copter growled. "I've been itching to hit something ever since I had to talk to Zipp again! Let's go!"

As Copter ran down the steps into Shadow Arc, Lucky slowly followed, mesmerized by the vanishing stars. Not watching where he was going, he stumbled into a man with black robes. "Ow! Sorry..." Lucky mumbled. This black robed man ignored him. It was not the Doomsayer, he appeared much more human. "They have arrived at last." the man said. Lucky looked over the edge of the roof. The shadowy creatures he had seen earlier were even closer than before! They were almost entirely black, except for glowing yellow eyes. They were small, and looked almost like insects, with their antennae and their strange movements. The robed man looked as well. "The Heartless will devour this world, and all who dwell on it. It's too late to stop it." he said, not looking at Lucky. The young experiment backed away from the edge, a feeling of terror washing over him. "There's gotta be a way to stop them!" he whimpered. The black robed man finally looked at him. "Indeed. But only a chosen one can do it. Let's see what you're capable of..."

Before Lucky's eyes, the world and everything in it turned to water, and he fell in, sinking and sinking. Though he was underwater, his drop was not slowed by much. He plummeted in total darkness, only able to scream as he tried to make sense of what had just happened. Finally, he landed. He could see the ground no more than he could see anything else. As he stood up, pondering what was going on, a flock of birds flew past him from the ground, uncovering a floor that seemed to emit a radiant light. As the birds flew off into the darkness, Lucky looked down to see an image. The floor appeared to be a stained glass image of six people. One was a brown haired boy in black, holding what appeared to be a large key. Another was a white haired boy in yellow clothes. The third was a girl with dark red hair, then a blond haired boy in white. The last two stuck out the most to Lucky, a duck and a dog. All of them looked somehow familiar. Suddenly, Lucky heard a voice.

"You have a great journey ahead of you. A long, yet short journey. Take great care. But don't be afraid."

Three lights flashed, replaced quickly by a sword, a shield, and an odd looking staff.

"Within you lies great power. But you must first give it form."

Lucky knew he had to be dreaming, so his choice didn't require thought. He reached out and took the sword. As he did, the shield and staff vanished, and a horde of the same shadow creatures rose up from the ground around him.

"Test your power! Face the Heartless!"

Lucky clutched the sword tightly. "Get back, you dumb bug things! Don't make me smack you!" Suddenly, the sword transformed in his hands into the same key the brown haired boy in the image held.

"The Keyblade can harm the Heartless! Strengthen your heart and they will never defeat you!"

Lucky clutched the Keyblade and dashed at the Heartless, slicing them to dark ribbons. However, they simply retaliated by fusing together to form a larger creature, a Darkside Heartless. Lucky backed away somewhat. "Strengthen your heart..." he thought. With a firm resolve to see those stars again, Lucky jumped high into the air, pointing the Keyblade at Darkside's head!


Well, this didn't get used for any version of the story. ^^;


THE NIGHTMARE ZONE 10 & FINAL

After some years hiatus, I returned for a tenth Nightmare Zone Halloween special, because 9 is a weird place to stop it. Anyway, what I decided on was an alternate-timeline continuation of the first Nightmare Zone story, because that seemed the best tenth-episode celebratory thing...although not gonna lie, this ended up my least favorite of the main specials.

I did have 2 alternate ideas for the 10th special, according to my notes. One idea was Sonic being menaced by his own fanbase, who at the time were seeming, well...worse than they seem now. Those fans would be represented by various OCs. I decided not to do this for reasons that may be obvious, heh...

The other idea was based on "Nightmare on Elm Street", and I have an outline for that, so I'll share it, but first let's talk about last year's special.

Last year's...or 2020's special, was a crossover between Paranormal Chaos and the main Nightmare Zone continuity...and Sonic GeneX: Doomsday. Oh, yeah, that'll be mildly relevent eventually. The crossover with Doomsday was the only real reason I did it...well, also I wanted to do a third Paranormal Chaos after making the second, but now I'm like "I'll never actually do a proper third one" so I did this crossover.

The only deleted line I want to share is this bit from the Do's and Don'ts Book;
"13, we warned you not to look at 13, now you're done for. Gah!! Why'd I think of that one!?" 
Tails recalling number 13 in the book. I cut this because I wasn't sure if I actually did 13 in the 8th special or not; I failed to take notes on it because it was intended as the final finale.

Now, the unused "Nightmare on Mission Street" outline. Then, we'll close this Retrospective episode with a look at GeneXXX...

1-Opening. Eggman is arrested, saying he'll get even with Sonic. When Sonic says "In your dreams" Eggman ominously replies "No, in yours"
2-Weeks later, Vector is found dead in his sleep. Sonic thinks little of it, except his body was slashed, and there was no sign of an intruder...
3-Knuckles has a nightmare that night. Firepaw has invaded his dreams, and nearly kills him!
4-Hearing his story, Tails becomes worried. Sonic shrugs it off again until hearing that Cream has died from the same mysterious circumstances as Vector.
5-Tails devises a dream device to send all of Team Sonic to fight Firepaw at once. Amy, Espio, Copter, Punchy and Rainbow join the trip.
6-The group is separated in a horrific dreamscape. Knuckles and Punchy are both quickly killed. 
7-Gator wakes up Rainbow before she can die. Then he kills her, revealed as Firepaw. The real Gator emerges, horrified. Amy and Espio fight their way through a graveyard before Espio is killed.
8-Sonic, Tails, Copter and Amy meet up, taking on Firepaw in a final battle. When Tails is killed, Sonic tries to turn into Darkspine Sonic, only to realize this is the tenth special, not the first.
9-Rather than be killed by Firepaw, Copter and Amy give up and shoot each other. Sonic decides he can't be killed by Firepaw if he never sleeps again. He wakes up...
10-All seems well. Everyone is even alive. The whole thing was a bad dream? Hold on... Firepaw is there. Everyone turns into zombies! Sonic is killed. However, then everyone including Sonic gets up and says "Happy Halloween Everybody!" before starting to perform Thriller (maybe)


GENEXXX

I ended GeneXXX after 3 arcs for two reasons. One, so I could better focus on Doomsday without having another arc that REQUIRED attention. The other reason was that I just couldn't be arsed to keep track of this series' canon anymore. I do have a long string of notes as to what pairings have happened, but there comes a point where such a list is too long to keep track of. If I ever bring this series back, I'm liable to reboot it yet again.

Some of the sfw arcs had adult variants over the years, and here's an interesting statistic about those; the sfw versions almost always got more views! I know, what the hell? So, I dunno about doing such a thing again. I guess too much plot getting in the way of the naughty bits is...frustrating? I guess I get that.

Crazy thing is, I actually have some cut content for GeneXXX this time around! So, as a reward for your clicks, I'll share those without further ado!

Chapter Unlisted - Revenge-Cucking Copter
The moment was ruined for Copter as Chet arrived on the scene. In addition to chips, he was carrying Gemini, intending to get her to the gas station after her crash. "So, bangin' my girl, Copter?" he grunted. "Magic spell!" Katie panted. Gemini nodded. "I do smell magic in the air... No, actual magic." she said. Chet shrugged. "Fair enough...." he sighed, looking at Gemini. "We're late to the party. Why don't we make up for it together?" he smirked. Copter screamed in his mind as Chet swiftly sped the chips into his and Katie's car, and then used his speed to strip himself and Gemini. The fennec blushed and smiled. "Start your engines, cheetah-boy..." she said playfully. Copter was stunned, and pulled out of Katie while stumbling backward. Gemini was never this...sexual before. Now, he watched as Chet sank balls deep into her, swiftly thrusting as the fennec moaned out lustfully. And she wasn't under the spell. Copter walked away clutching his heart. "That could've been me..." he whispered as Katie and Wave shrugged and started making out with each other.
2BIT's musings: It try not to actively do the cuckolding fetish blatantly like this. Especially not with hurt feelings coming into play. Also the chapter in question is probably Chaos Tournament's road race.

GeneXXX2 Chapter 10 - Switching
She found him in the nearby garage, pinning Amy to the Tornado and licking her tits while his cock thrusted into her pussy. Tears formed in the cat's eyes, but Sonic's hand resting on her shoulder made her wipe them away. "How can you watch them, Sonic?" she asked. "Well, I was participating a minute ago..." he shrugged, glancing at Blaze, "Well, since you're here... I mean, it's not like you and I haven't done it before..." he smirked. Amy glanced out at the two of them. "Go ahead, you two. Oooh, and then maybe we'll switch later...!" she said excitedly. Blaze blushed and nodded. The chance to get fucked by her two favorite lovers in one night sounded absolutely purrfect...
2BIT's musings: Don't look at me, this makes little sense to my mind now. I mean I know Blaze wound up in Tails' harem, I guess, but I can't see her getting jealous in this universe...

Infinite Crisis XXX Chapter 2 - Wartime Depression
Tails panted, his mind reeling. The role play went out of his brain. "I-I'm sorry, Sonic... it's my fault Eggman got you... I f-failed you..." he sniffled, his thrusts slowing as Shadow humped into Sonic's mouth. Sonic had a concerned expression, and Shadow did his best to ignore Tails. "Almost there, Sonic... Gonna swallow the chili?" he asked. Sonic didn't answer. He swore he heard Tails crying. He was snapped into reality as Shadow came into his mouth, and he tried his best to swallow it down. As he pulled out, Sonic sat up and looked at Tails. "Buddy... I love you. Don't beat yourself up." he said softly. Shadow sat beside Sonic, enjoying his afterglow, and stared at the guilt-ridden Tails. "Now I see why no one's fucking during the war..." he muttered. Tails hugged Sonic, burying his face in the hedgehog's chest.
2BIT's musings: The problem with the adult versions of clean chapters is that the sex can't be a major plot point, really. Gotta avoid the heavy stuff. The mental gymnastics of hiding the conception of Aurora from sfw readers on its own was frankly ridiculous...
