Episode 14: Battle For Paris


With four Chaos Emeralds collected and three in the hands of Dr. Eggman, Sonic and the other Mobians were out searching in the hopes of locating the doctor and completing the collection; Then they would be able to return home and take the evil scientist with them. Kaalki added. They started to argue, and it only made Marinette's decision more difficult, so she called for the discussion to stop. "Enough! You're right, I am the Guardian and I'll decide how to handle this! Now back in the box, everyone. I'll need to return to school soon." she said. "But what'll you do, Marinette?" Tikki asked. She gave a sigh. "I'll...talk it over with Cat Noir. If he really is who I think he is...I trust him to make the right choice." she stated, glancing at some pictures of Adrien on the wall wistfully.


Within Dr. Eggman's lab, hidden beneath the Agreste estate, the doctor found himself confronted by Shadow Moth. "You thought you could keep it from me! What were you plotting? What were you going to do with the knowledge that my son is Cat Noir!" he shouted. The doctor stepped slowly towards an object concealed by a tarp. "So, you snooped, eh? I confess, I used the info to extort a Chaos Emerald from him. Besides that, I've had no particular use for knowing... I simply wasn't prepared for you to be making any big moves yet." he stated, taking hold of the tarp, "But with these Chaos Emeralds, I no longer have to worry about YOU!" he cackled, throwing away the tarp to reveal a boxy machine with a large door on the front. There were slots for Chaos Emeralds, and Eggman inserted the three emeralds he had before turning on the machine! "All that fiddling with Miraculous powers, but really, I got the best power working already!" the scientist laughed as a robot stepped out of the boxy device. It was a black Egg Pawn...with cat ears? Eggman laughed deviously. "The power of destruction! I'll generate an army of destructive robots, and Paris will be mine to rule!" he declared with glee as Shadow Moth watched the machine produce Cat Pawns at a swift pace. As he stepped out of the lab, Shadow Moth smirked darkly. "Arrogant man! Go ahead, play with Ladybug and her superpowered friends. The chaos that ensues may just work to MY advantage, in the end..." he sneered, his mind starting to scheme.


After class, Marinette met Cat Noir on her balcony, each of them with anxious looks in their eyes. "Gonna need Ladybug!" he shouted as he took off. Silver and Blaze nodded. "Claws out!" cried Silver. "Spots on!" added Blaze. How are we gonna get outta this?" Nino gulped. The robots took aim at them, and Alya hugged Nino tightly as they prepared for what would happen. Just before the robots fired, a blue blur raced past them, and in less than a second, had carried Alya, Nino, Luka and Kagami out of danger! The robots looked around in confusion, and taking advantage of the confusion, Knuckles and Amy hurried in close to punch and hammer the bots! Close by the spot where Sonic brought the humans, Tails and Cream were fending off robots as well, the rabbit directing her Chao friend while Tails fired a laser of his own at the bots. Shadow warped in next to Sonic, a serious look on his face. "The army is converging on City Hall. We should meet Ladybug and Cat Noir there." he said. "Gonna make sure the people are safe first!" The Mobians and the superheroes made their way through the city, fighting off robots like a true hero team! Even without any Miraculous of their own, the Mobians were a force to be reckoned with, and thanks to their help, the two Ladybugs and Cat Noirs were able to reach city hall, where the bulk of Eggman's forces were barring them from proceeding. "...Really wish I could use multiple Cataclysms right now..." Cat said with an awkward chuckle. "Don't worry, kitty. It's you and me against the world, right?" Ladybug said, winking at him. "And of course, we'll lend some helping paws!" Silver Noir declared, picking up a couple of the already approaching robots with his powers while Blaze set them on fire with her own power. "Eggman will regret starting this!" she shouted.

Eggman wasn't even paying attention to the battle. Confident in his own victory, he was "negotiating" with the mayor. "You've seen the damage my army can do. Surrender your city to me now, while you still have a city left to surrender!" he said deviously. The mayor tugged his collar nervously. "I-I can't just do that! Besides, Ladybug and Cat Noir will defeat you!" he stammered. "You tell him, daddy!" came the voice of Chloe from under the table. She was hiding much like he wanted to, but speaking up was not a good idea. Eggman kicked over the table and pointed a laser at her. "Well, well! Perhaps your daughter can persuade you to see reason?" the doctor sneered. "Shoot..." Chloe gulped, "Where are those so-called heroes? This is...utterly ridiculous..." she said nervously.

Outside, it was chaos as the heroes and Mobians clashed with Eggman's army. Sonic, Silver and Shadow were holding the bulk of the robots' attention, but there were still plenty for the others. Cat Noir found himself cornered along with Cream, but by rapidly spinning his stick, he was able to block and neutralize the cataclysm blasts. "Don't worry, Cream! I'll keep you safe!" he said, only to see Cheese race past and strike the robots with enough force to blow them away! "Huh... That works, too!" he smiled. However, a voice suddenly caught his attention. "H-help me! Aaah!" Cat Noir recognized the voice. "Fath- Errr... Mr. Agreste??" he stammered, racing after the voice. "Oh, wait! Don't run off on your own!" Cream shouted, following him into an alleyway. She gasped as she found Cat Noir on the ground, apparently unconscious, his assailant nowhere in sight. "Oh, dear! I should get Sonic...." she said, turning to get help only to have everything suddenly go black for her as well!

With Chloe held at gunpoint, Eggman had the mayor where he wanted him, and had passed him a document that, once signed, would name the doctor the new ruler of Paris. Pen neared paper, and the building shook from the battle outside. "C-couldn't we move this somewhere less liable to collapse on top of us first?" the mayor stammered, half stalling and half genuinely afraid. Eggman tapped Chloe's head with his gun, causing her to nervously grit her teeth. "Sign, and you can leave immediately." he said. The mayor gulped, and glanced back at the document, but before he could sign, a certain yo-yo wrapped around his pen and yanked it away! "City hasn't fallen yet, Mr. Mayor!" said Ladybug, as she stood behind Eggman with Sonic, Silver and Blaze behind her! "Rrrgh... Blasted robots, no amount of power can fix incompetency it seems. I'll have to take matters into my own hands!" the doctor snarled, shoving Chloe towards the heroes as he grabbed up the Miracle Box in his hands! Silver caught Chloe with his powers and lifted her out of the way. "Waaaahh! Hey! Let me down!" the bratty blonde shouted. "I wouldn't try to use the Miraculous without knowing how they work first. It could be disastrous...for you!" Ladybug warned. Eggman grinned widely. "It could if I were the one using it. Escape plan, initiate!" he shouted. A familiar whistle sounded from outside the office, and Eggman seemed to split into a dozen Eggmen all running in different directions! Blaze looked to the doorway to see an Egg Pawn with foxy features and realized what had happened. "Illusions! One of him has to still be real!" she shouted. Sonic nodded and raced around the room, striking at the illusions and causing them to vanish, only to find no sign of Dr. Eggman. On top of that, the Fox Pawn vanished as well, an illusion decoy for the real one, wherever it actually was. "No... He got away!" Ladybug whimpered. A frantic Tails came running into the room at that moment. "Guys! S-shadow Moth! Hurry!" he huffed, a bit tired from running.

Outside City Hall, a mass of Akuma forming the shape of Shadow Moth's face could be seen. "That's uh... quite a trick..." Sonic stammered as he saw it. The moth-phantom was high in the sky, and spoke with a booming voice. "Ladybug! Our long game has reached checkmate! I have captured Cat Noir... and your rabbit friend, too. If you wish to see your precious friends alive again, go to the Agreste manor... There, you will deliver your Miraculous to me in exchange for their lives!" he declared with a menacing laugh. Ladybug looked around quickly. Sure enough, there was no sign of Cat Noir or Cream anywhere. However, that wasn't proof alone. "How do I know you really have them?" she shouted. "Try to call Cat Noir. Go ahead." Shadow Moth told her. She nervously looked to her yo-yo, which doubled as a phone, and placed the call. Cream could be seen tied up in what appeared to be Gabriel Agreste's office. At that same moment, Cheese flew towards Blaze, frantically babbling in Chao speech. "This is terrible!" she gasped. Shadow Moth gave a triumphant laugh, and in a fit of anger, Ladybug hurled her yo-yo at the Akuma phantom again and again, capturing all of those Akumas quickly. The Agreste manor, that seemed to confirm Cat Noir's identity to her, as if the evidence hadn't already stacked up enough. She threw her yo-yo into the air once more and started to swing away alone. "I have to save Adrien!!" she cried.
