Tails was visiting Silver and Amy, to discuss ideas on where to look for the Chaos Emeralds, and his progress building a device to search them out. The gate opened, and Ladybug hurried to the door while the Mobians watched her curiously. Tails then recalled the shadow he'd spotted. "Hmm, excuse me a minute, guys..." he said, running past the open gate and circling around the exterior of the manor. "Do you think we need Silver Noir?" Amy asked, to which Silver just shrugged.

After sending Adrien's bodyguard to guide Ladybug, Gabriel retired to his lair, transforming into Shadow Moth on the way in. "Opportunities like this don't come about every day! I need to seize the moment, by any means possible!" he said, grabbing a butterfly from the swarm and charging it with energy.
