Marinette was a bundle of nerves after reading a text from her friend Alya. "You're coming to the twins' birthday party, yeah?" This message was followed up with "No hiding from Luka, now!" That's another awkward situation, since I lied to everyone about us dating..." she murmured. Blaze glanced at Tikki floating nearby and nodded knowingly. It'd be even more awkward if Adrien was meant to attend this party, too.

Adrien was indeed worrying over this. "What did I do, Silver?? I can't be somewhere as Cat Noir and Adrien at the same time! ...But I couldn't say no to Mari, either. She's the girl Sonic and those others are staying with. I allowed Silver to remain here, but I won't have you associating with those who...who defiled you! Plagg came out of hiding once the man was gone and plopped onto Adrien's shoulder. "Well, now Adrien has an alibi, and Cat Noir can go party!" he stated. Adrien sighed. "I guess... Too bad none of my friends know I'm Cat Noir." he said. Silver smiled. "I do. I'll come, too!" he winked.


Gabriel stepped into his moth-filled lair, smirking. "Nooru, Dusuu, dual metamorphosis!" he commanded, transforming into Shadow Moth as Eggman stepped into the lair behind him. "Now, with Adrien secure at home, the stage is set for my spy..." Shadow Moth sneered, raising his hands as he tapped into the power of the Peacock Miraculous! On the ground in front of him was a single sock from Adrien's room, and sending the Amok into it, he began to create. Eggman's eyes widened at what he saw. Shadow Moth had created a perfect replica of his own son. "SentiAdrien... I'm sending you to a party. Several Miraculous holders will be there. Let's see if you can deduce whether Ladybug and Cat Noir are among them..." he chuckled to himself. Eggman cleared his throat. "Yes, and be on the lookout for any large, colored emeralds while you're out! I want those Chaos Emeralds!" Eggman said to the duplicate. SentiAdrien smirked, then laughed as he and Shadow Moth spoke in unison. "It's me, you fool. I'm controlling this boy! My eyes and ears will see all he does..." the villain smirked as the copy of his son shoved past Eggman to exit the chamber. The doctor stroked his moustache thoughtfully. "No clue the boy he's role playing as is also Cat Noir. If Agreste isn't careful, he could let his own mask slip..." he thought to himself, "The power source for my new Miraculous dupes may have to wait a bit longer, in that case..."


The birthday party was to happen aboard the boat Luka's family lived on, "Liberty." The prospect quickly soured Sonic on the idea of joining the others. "No thanks, I don't do the water. I'll patrol the city. Maybe find a Chaos Emerald or something..." he said, waving goodbye, "Hold the fort while I'm gone, little bro!" he added. Tails waved back to him. "Hey, Marinette, glad you could make it. It's been too long... Say, do your friends know this guy?" he asked, pointing out a hedgehog following behind him. Black furred, with red streaks...it was Shadow! He looked a bit awkward. "We found him a week or so ago. He couldn't remember much of anything." Luka explained. Tails and Amy hurried over to Shadow. "Don't tell me you even forgot us this time!" Amy stammered. "This...time?" Marinette murmured. Shadow scratched his head. "A name... Sonic... And a feeling that I don't belong here... That's all I remember." he stated. Tails glanced at Amy. "Guess we'd better try to jog his memory..." he suggested. They followed Shadow onto the boat, leaving Silver, Blaze and Marinette to wait with Luka for Cat Noir. "Heeey! You all waiting for me?" They turned at the sound of his voice, but half of them were shocked to see Adrien standing there. Standing between her non-superhero crushes, Marinette became a flustered mess. "A-a-adrien! I thought your home told you to stay dad!" she babbled. Making things even crazier for Silver and Blaze, Cat Noir dropped down next to Adrien from the sky! "Heya, Mari! SentiAdrien was walking along the ship's deck, looking around at everyone gathered. "Such a wealth of opportunity..." Shadow Moth mused, "Cat Noir, and a new hedgehog... Where to start?" he thought. He settled on Cat Noir's date, and as "Adrien" approached, Alya got a mischievous smirk. "Time to test your resolve to date the kitty...good luck!" she said, walking away as Adrien approached her. "Hey, wait, Alya!" she stammered as Adrien placed his arm around her. "Mar-i-nette... whoa, dating Cat Noir. How did that happen?" he asked, trying to act cool. Something about how you weren't supposed to be here." she said, prompting the boy to leave Marinette alone to address this flaw in his plan. Once he'd walked away, Blaze whispered to Marinette. That was a very good question.


Luka took a seat on his bed, taking his guitar off the bed and setting it aside on the floor. "You and Marinette... I can't figure you out. The songs in your hearts, I wouldn't think they'd harmonize..." he said a bit bluntly. Cat Noir crossed his arms, wondering what that was supposed to mean. "Amnesmaniac, this is Shadow Moth. You can't recall who you are, so I've given you an identity. I'm also giving you the power to absorb the memories of others in order to repair your own. In exchange, I ask for Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous, their magic jewels!" the villain explained. Shadow nodded, and started to transform before everyone's eyes! A sort of arm cannon formed around his akumatized wrist ring, and Shadow started to point it around, a sort of suction forming around the shaft of the arm cannon, drawing in the memories of those nearby in the form of a pale blue energy. Tails had jumped Adrien to the floor to take cover, but Amy was hit, dropping the hammer she'd raised in self defense. "Uhhnn... Hey, where am I? Why am I on a boat?" she murmured. Shadow scoffed. However, when she nearly reached him, Tails dove to tackle her to the ground, taking cover while Shadow's suction swept by the area, draining Luka of his memories! "Unnhh... What? Well, all you need to say is, Sass, let's slither!" The Kwami announced. Tails nodded and spoke the words with the bracelet on his wrist. Then, a light blue costume appeared around his fluffy body, even turning his two tails into what appeared to be two scaly appendages! "Guess now I'm more Scales than Tails!" the fox chuckled, finding a harp in his hands and wondering how to use it. Ladybug nodded at his words. "When you activate Second Chance, you'll be able to return to the moment you activated it, up to a five minute window. Turn back the clock if I get hit, okay?" she said, their plan set.

Heading back onto the ship's deck, "Scales" activated Second Chance by turning his bracelet, and Ladybug activated her Lucky Charm, receiving a small object for her trouble. "A champagne cork? No, it can't be as easy as plugging up the suction..." she murmured, "Well, we got Second Chance, right? Turn us back if this goes poorly. Hyaaaaah!!" And in her distraction, Ladybug was hit again! "Second Chance!" Tails sighed. "A champagne cork? No, it can't be as easy as-" Ladybug was repeating. Tails interrupted her. "You wanna hold him down but Silver's out for the count. I think I have an idea. I'll distract Shadow..." He quickly related his plan to Ladybug, and as she head off in one direction, Tails started to play the harp to catch Shadow's attention. His playing was atrocious, and Shadow held his ears. As Shadow was struggling to de-cork his gun arm, Cat Noir was able to destroy the gun, releasing the Akuma! Ladybug swiftly captured it, and the cork burst into Miraculous Ladybugs, using their mysterious power to restore the stolen memories!

Normally Shadow Moth would be throwing a tantrum now, but he still had SentiAdrien. He decided to have his creation follow Ladybug, who stood at the port side of the ship with "Scales." She accepted the bracelet from him, the fox changing back to normal. "You've done a good job today. Maybe... one day, I might ask you for assistance again?" she asked. Tails nodded. "Happy to help out! Although... Those costumes are kinda tight!" he said with an awkward chuckle. Ladybug smiled, waved, and swung off the ship. "No, don't let her get away, SentiAdrien!!" Shadow Moth babbled. The Sentimonster headed for the exit to the ship, and was surprised to find Adrien coming aboard! Cat Noir had also needed to transform back, and after exiting the ship, Adrien decided to set this little problem straight. "Hey, Luka and Juleka! I'm not actually supposed to be here, but I couldn't skip out on your big day... Hey, what am I already doing here?" he questioned. Everyone stared at SentiAdrien, and the fake growled. "C-clearly, he's the fake!" he said feebly. Shadow Moth shook his head and groaned. "That boy needs talking to... But for now, I release you from existence, SentiAdrien..." he said, snapping his fingers. Meanwhile, Amy, Silver and Blaze spoke to Shadow, who seemed to have had some of his memory jogged by all the excitement. "I was searching for the missing Chaos Emeralds. I still don't quite remember how I got here... But I remember why I was staying in this area. I happened to see an emerald fall into the river when I arrived." he explained. Silver nodded. "If that's true, it must not be too far from this boat... Maybe I should go and look for it?" he questioned. "Maybe Tails will have an idea about how to find it at the bottom of the river?" Amy suggested. With that, the two of them went off looking for the fox, leaving Blaze alone with Shadow. She looked at him and raised an eyebrow. "So, you're still missing some memories..." she mused, stepping close to him and starting to smirk, "Don't tell me you forgot all about... this?" she purred, giving the hedgehog a quick kiss on the lips while Silver wasn't looking.  Shadow kissed her back, and touched her shoulders. "Hm... You could jog my memory a bit more..." he whispered with a devious smirk.

Shadow and Blaze went inside the ship's cabins while Silver and the others went searching for the emerald, and the humans resumed the party. Specifically, to ponder over Adrien's Lucky Charm that she found. "Maybe Silver brought it? Why would Silver OR the fake Adrien bring it, though? No, who went into that room? Let's see... Luka wanted to have a private chat with...Cat Noir..." she murmured, looking at the charm and then glancing at a picture of Adrien on her desk. Her eyes started to widen as she pictured him with Cat Noir's suit on. "No, no no no no, that's not... Adrien isn't... Cat Noir!" she stammered, holding her head, "There must be another explanation... Ahh, but I can't ask Tikki or Blaze, what if he IS Cat Noir? I gotta prove he's not..." she told herself, slipping the lucky charm under her pillow as she prepared to sleep on the problem. "Gotta be...an explanation..." she murmured drowsily. She was conflicted. How did she feel if it was true? And what did knowing mean for Ladybug and Cat Noir? She'd stumbled into a minefield, that was for sure...
