It took 20 minutes or so of finagling the plug in different outlets and whatnot before it worked (I was desperate, apparently) Once it was on, I only wanted to use it to post, lest it cut out on me. So, no chit chat.\n\nNow, to explain this thing, and excuse the lack of preview image, computer problems are going to put an end to preview images for a while, most likely.\n\nAnyway, I've seen fights between characters across the internet. Deathbattles, sprite fights, fanfic battles and whatever other nonsense you can think of. Sometimes the results are backed by \"research\"... excuses for the creator's bias. Well, I disclaim right off the bat that no deathmatch ever should be taken seriously, because writers are not infallible. That said, I'm using my own experience with the characters to determine the outcome... and I'm using the idea of duplicates so that the carnage is all in good, brutal fun.\n\nI won't necessarily go into detail explaining why each match reaches its outcome, either. But I encourage you to voice your own opinion, and suggest future matchups, too! Though, the first five battles are already done, so it'll be a wait before any reader ideas get made.\n\nFor this match... I found myself thinking it could really have gone either way, actually. There's a lot of room to interpret the power levels of these combatants. But... one clearly had more impressive overall abilities to me once I thought it all through.\nBoth of them are kinda glass cannons, though, if I think about it. Powerful in their ways...but lacking defense.",

"writing": "8BIT's DeathBytes! - Pikachu Vs. Mickey Mouse\n\nCharacters are (c) their respective owners.\nDisclaimer: Any battle could end any way, depending on the writer. Don't ever take deathmatch stories or videos as gospel.\n\n8BIT, a black fox from the spaces between dimensions, is a being who represents all that is dark and depraved. Bored, he has constructed an impressive stadium, able to change its shape and form to accomodate all types of epic battles. To sate his thirst for bloodshed, he creates doppelgangers of warriors from across the multiverse, pitting them against each other in no holds barred struggles to the death!\nHe would use the real deals, but his not-so-evil counterpart, 2BIT, would never permit it. Not to mention, the possibilities for rematches and other battles with the same heroes rises if he can simply duplicate said hero from the data of the original.\n\nFor our first match, the goal is to show you, dear readers, just how random the matchups can be, and to see the gist of how fights can play out. Feel free to leave you opinions on the match and suggestions for future match-ups in the comment section below. Now, let's begin...\n\n8BIT sat upon a throne inside his magnificent new battle arena, a screen before him transmitting footage of the battlefield within. He smirked, and held up a controller. \"Let the games begin...\" he said.\n\nThe battlefield for today was projected to look like a simple forest area. Grass, trees... It looked like it could be home for any number of characters. The first to emerge on the field was a yellow rodent, possessing a lighting bolt-shaped tail. Looking around curiously, it said its own name \"Pikachu.\" Not far from the rodent, an apple rested on the ground. A look of excitement came on its face...until a visitor emerged and picked up the apple, taking a bite. \"Yum! Boy, was I famished!\" A taller, more humanoid mouse with black fur and round ears stood, eating the apple. He wore bright red pants, and had a playful gleam in his eyes. His name was Mickey, not that Pikachu cared. This jerk stole his apple. He approached, babbling in his own language angrily. Mickey glanced at him. \"Gosh, you're a strange lookin' fella...\" he muttered. Angry, Pikachu sent a jolt of lighting Mickey's way! The mouse acted fast, a large key appearing in his hand, which he used to parry the attack! \"A heartless!?\" the mouse stammered.\n\nAnd so, the fight was on! Pikachu saw the weapon pulled against it, and leapt into the air, attempting to bat it away with an iron tail strike, its bolt-shaped tail taking on a metallic sheen for the attack! Mickey parried the blow, and tried striking back, but the yellow rodent was fast, and able to parry his blade with his tail pretty easily. \"Let's try magic, then! Thunder!!\" Mickey called, dropping a bolt of thunder onto Pikachu before it could dodge. It... wasn't very effective. Pikachu chuckled and shot back with a powerful electric blast of its own, which Mickey couldn't parry away this time! The mouse reeled and wailed in pain, smoking a bit after the attack ceased. \"...Heal...\" he sighed. Pikachu smacked its forehead as Mickey came out unscathed. This wasn't fair, he needed to get that key away from him.\n\nPikachu started running rapid circles around Mickey, his agility making him faster and faster. Mickey tried to keep up, but was soon struck by a quick attack, dropping his keyblade! \"Ooof! Hmmm... Plan B then...\" he muttered, and pulled out a large paint brush concealed in his pocket while Pikachu ran around him. Pointing the brush at the base of a tree, Mickey shot a green fluid out...paint thinner? The tree fell forward, and Pikachu was surprised to find it in his path, crashing into it before he could stop!\n\nMickey retrieved his keyblade at this point, and it was Pikachu's turn to heal, having found a berry amidst the debris of the tree. It ate fast, and then turned angrily to Mickey. \"Uh... Could we maybe... just talk this out?\" the mouse asked. Pikachu sparked at him, and broke into a run, his body becoming enveloped in electricity. A volt tackle! Mickey backed up and pointed his keyblade at Pikachu, hoping to stop it by firing blizzard blasts repeatedly! It seemed to slow Pikachu a little, but it didn't stop, and when they collided, both were flung back with a great deal of force! Standing up shakily, Mickey gulped. \"I have ta end this... or I might be a goner...\" he said.\n\nPikachu was also determined to end this. It held a crystal in its paw... a Z-crystal. Normally a trainer would be required to tap into Z-power, but Pikachu was desperate. Forcing the crystal to activate, Pikachu's body began to glow with energy as it performed a little dance. Mickey watched this nervously. \"Got a bad feelin about this...\" he muttered, and rummaged through his pockets. Pikachu tore off after him, turning into a powerful electric bolt as part of its Gigavolt Havoc attack! Acting fast, Mickey held up a sparkling Star Shard, and in a flash of light, he disappeared, causing Pikachu's powerful attack to miss! The electric rodent looked around in confusion. It seemed the mouse had left the arena. Suddenly, however, Mickey reemerged in another flash of light, looking a bit dazed. \"Still can't control that shard...\" he murmured. Pikachu cried out in frustrated rage, and came charging towards Mickey, aiming to finish up with another volt tackle! Mickey turned and did an impressive aerial flip, vaulting clear over the mouse Pokemon's body while turning! As the electricity left Pikachu's body, Mickey moved in for the kill... only to stumble! His body sparked, and he collapsed, unable to move. \"I...I'm paralyzed! Why!?\" he stammered. Pikachu smirked at him. It had affected Mickey with Static one of the times its body had made contact with his. Pikachu leapt into the air, spinning rapidly as its tail returned to iron. It slammed its iron tail down across Mickey's neck in a swift motion, a high pitched squeak heard from the mouse before his head tumbled away from his body, leaving a bloody stain across the grass connecting them. Don't mess with a Pikachu's snacktime...\n\n8BIT scratched his head, looking stupefied. \"You're kidding me. Felled by Static. Bull shit!! That electric rat should've been destroyed!\" he grumbled. A light chuckle escaped him as he looked at the dead mouse's body. \"Well, maybe I'll make a rematch, eventually... But for now, let the Pikachu enjoy his victory... He'll die in the arena soon enough...\" he sneered.\n\nMatch End! ",
