I love these two. Gumbo was my first venture into the world of Anthropomorphics. She has gone through a couple iterations but she has always remained a little tease that is ALWAYS laughing. She is the embodiment of joy and the love of life. I've drawn a few characters since then, and while I really enjoy drawing them all, I have fallen hopelessly in love with Etouffee. I have a thing for leggy bitches anyways so when she manifested in my pen she stole my heart. It was only logical and frankly inevitable that Gumbo and Etouffee would be best friends. Even their name sakes are sisters in the Creole trifecta of saucy dishes (Jambalaya being the Queen ;P ) Together they never cease to make me smile. It is so easy just to pour life into them while putting their lines to the page.

Its early morning, shops along the boardwalk are just beginning to lift their gates and rattle their shutters. Etouffee, out before the sun rose submerging herself in that cool crisp air, enjoying the sand between her toes and salt in her nose; just finished a run, carelessly tosses a summer dress over her head and sits to take her hock brace off.
Gumbo knowing her friend's routine as if it were her own rolled out of bed, fished around in that pile of clothes next to that other pile of clothes that make up most of what could be construed as the floor, pulled out a few items of clothing. Sniffing her things she assured herself that the fresh air would be enough cover to disguise her lack of laundry. She wanted coffee, she had no idea how Etouffee could be running after the night they had, but coffee would fix everything, coffee always fixed everything. With tunes coaxing her step and the last half of a forgotten twist burning in her fingers she set out as the sun rose to find her friend.
