I love my hair, it is a magical mix of curl grades. It is an unruly explosion of hair that has a mind of its own. It eats pencils, hair bands, hair clips, earrings, anything foolish enough to get close. On the rare occassion where I have the motivation to put all into twists it looks fantastic. However most of the time it is just a cloud of luscious chocolate. This is all fine and good until I have to draw it. This piece was more or less finished on Wednesday... I didn't like how I drew my hair so I erased it and tried something else... and something else... and something else... and something else... all in all I think I redrew it about eight times.

So these are my two girls, the absolute loves of my life. Little deaf girl and my old grouchy tripod. They are my anchors to reality, my emotional grounding, my sounding boards, my couch companions, my bed hogs, my outdoor guardians, my spider killers, my welcome home, and my serial lickers. They are my life. Since my boy passed I have relied on them more than ever before. We have formed a renewed bond now that there is only the three of us. Eventually I would like another boy because it is estrogen city up in here and the drama is thick as a fart in a phone booth.

LDG is so sweet it is almost Snickers Cheesecake at times, too much for OGT anyways. LDG just wants to love on her, lick her face and play, OGT is frowny, old and vocal about her disinterest. Not that this deters LDG since she couldn't hear a chainsaw cutting through a forest of chalk boards, the grumbly growls go in one ear and right out the other as she just continues to be her bouncy airhead self. Eventually OGT seeing her warnings are less than effective will cram herself into the corner of the couch and do her best to ignore her. LDG will then either sit on her, lay next to her, chew a bone next to her, or find some other mischief... next to her. OGT for all her bluster loves LDG, she is very protective of her outdoors. Like a mother to her puppy she makes sure LDG is always safe and paying attention outside. LDG has the attention span of the space between seconds, she loves to run, and has a very high prey drive. Which is a problem since she is deaf and recall is all but impossible if she can't hear me yelling at her. Not to say she will not come back, she is a very obedient dog, if she makes eye contact she is 100% focused. She even has a nice blue ribbon and a certificate for her CGC and OB. However when in pursuit of say a fluffy tail looking back as you are running forward is not really a priority. So they are tethered together, I have a leash to both but there is a short connecting leash between them so OGT can give her a pull if she needs to. This also helps keep the pace since lightning in a bottle cannot strike if it is grounded by age, three legs, and fifty-five pounds.

They love each other despite their differences and they love me more than anyone (save for my boy) that I have ever known. I can never repay them for what they do for me without thinking on a daily basis. I love my little spoon and couch potato.
