My game dev journey has now begun. In earnest. It's been a long time coming. I remember when I was just a kid, I wanted to be a "video game concept artist", or at least help
to make electronic entertainment. I remember saying I wanted to do it in college... and in employment transition training, where it felt like I was getting mocked for wanting to do that. A decade or more later, here I am, still alive and almost 40 years old. I can't quit my dream, I have to make this real. I need to fail faster, so I can succeed sooner. I can make it good later, and I'm only making it harder for myself by not even trying. It hurts, it sucks, it is overwhelming, and there is so much work to be done. But I want this to be something for me and for the dragon community. I'll still try to make other games too, but for now I want to devote myself to this. Nothing else is inspiring or motivating me as much as this. Now, I need the willpower and discipline. Will you help me maintain it? I'm sure you all will!

Thanks to GDevelop, I'll get started on my calling with making games. I'll make NSFW games for the furry community, of course, but I'll also make SFW games like Fireheart Saga.
GDevelop is known as being a "mid" game engine... but here's the thing. It is open source and runs on Javascript. So it's going to survive if any other major platform dies off. I was thinking of using RPG Maker MZ for a bit, but I realize that I could just as "easily" make a fun RPG in GDevelop.

Here is GDevelop, for those who are curious: https://gdevelop.io/

Her name is Seph. Yes, she is a stout, heavier woman, but also quite strong. She's a "barbarian" basically, in terms of RPG classes. Here true form is a lovely red dragon. It's a world where dragons are hunted down and slaughtered, because they are "monsters". Special individuals, called "FireHearts", have appeared only recently, and begun trying to coexist with others. But it's not enough. Eventually, secrets come out, when the joy and wonder of being a dragon is too great to hold back. It's "The Calling", which happens a few times each month, a desire to transform into their true selves to soar through the heavens as a dragon.

It was too much for the humans, especially the elves, to tolerate. Dragons already have nowhere to go. Some have formed communities and small kingdoms, hidden away only to be found. The dragons are powerful, but particularly extraordinary humans, elves, and dwarves known as "Paragons" are capable of not only leveling mountains but obliterating even the most powerful dragons. The source of their power is unknown, and it is up to our hero to discover why. To put a stop to it. The dragons must be saved, or face extinction.

I will experiment with the kinds of games I could potentially make with this game idea. One idea seems to be something like Hades... it might not even be that difficult to do since there is already a isometric template I can work with easily. Turning into a dragon in combat sounds like a fucking awesome idea, especially to do cool combos. It's up to me how I want to proceed, and quite frankly I am starting to get excited. I just have to stop getting so easily discouraged and spiral out of control emotionally if I hit a "roadblock". Just STOP, Ark, STOP DOING THAT... and EXPERIMENT, even if you fail! Stop it, Ark! *Bonks myself.*

Oh yeah, I'm doing my own sound and music using Cakewalk Sonar. Yeah. I'm shoring up the skills I've neglected, since I already have art covered... and clearly writing.
